Thump. Thump. Joe Lu rolled over in the corner of a dark closet he called his apartment. He was trying to sleep on a pile that was all he owned. "Come out Joe I know your in here. Open the door!" ((It's the hunking load of fat of a perverted landlord again.)) "What do you want Corneo?" Joe mumbled looking through a crack." Corneo swung open the door. "Rent. Your rent is late again Joe." Corneo slurred. "I know, man just give me another week." Joe uttered. "Listen kid, I know you don't have any money, and you probably won't get any for awhile, even if you try to sell that scrawny body of yours. You're hairs are all a mess, matty brown, can't even tell. Dull clothing." Corneo starting looking away from Joe's eyes. Joe swallowed the lump in his throat. "Let me stay until I find somewhere else to live... please." Joe looked out into the slum. "You can do some favors for me then..." Joe looked around and then looked at the perverted Corneo and shook his head. "Alright if not that, then out." Joe found himself sitting on a sidewalk in a blanket and a plastic bag of clothes. A truck nearby dumbed a load of people off. Bunch of crazies, he thought. Joe had been poor all hislife, but never this poor. His parents were poor too, and died 5 years ago when he was ten, ever since then, he scrapped along, living as he could. He didn't want to become a trainer or anything. For awhile an old man let him work in the Silph Co. Building, but he saw something he shouldn't have. He sat and reminsced trying to ignore the stabbing pains in his stomach, begging for nourisment. Realizing sitting and feeling sorry for himself wasn't and started walking. *** She felt herself being lifted off a truck on the ground. Saffron City. She could see. She looked down at herself, something seemed different seemed wrong. She felt very clean, almost like she'd been in a hospital, except for grimy clothes that felt like they hadn't been washed in ages. She almost screamed when she saw dryed blood on her shirt. ((Who am I? Why am I here?)) Looking down she could see circular spots on her arms were electrodes had been place, they were pale, looking like they were ready to heal, almost to be cover up. She looked at her hands and saw the smallest scar in her wrist. She saw a reflection of herself in a puddle but didn't know the face. Something was wrong. ((Who am I?)) Several images appeared in her brain, a burning house, a hand reaching out for her, a party on a boat. A rush of pain cut through her brain and the images were gone. She whined softy and realized she was lost in of the worst areas of Saffron. She stood up and starting walking and trying to remember her name. ((What is my name? What is my name? Why can't I remember anything)) "Ooff!" Joe said as he bumped into a girl walking by. ((Wow she's beautiful...) "Hey what happened?" He looked over at her bloodied clothing and confused demeanor and shook his head, the worst comign to mind. "I don't know, I was thrown off a truck, I remember men in medical coats... and..." She stopped trying to recall more. Joe thought about Silph and shook his head, thinking they couldn't possiblily dare to do anything to PEOPLE. "Do you remember your name?" Joe said, looking at her eyes. There was a slight sparkle in them, he tried to smile. "No, I don't remember." "Do you remember how long you were out? Anything in your pockets." Joe looked at her clothing and it was obviously not worn for a long time, but they fit her very well. "It's getting late at night, we have to get somewhere. It's not safe for people like us out here out night, if anyone is gonna... do anything to y, us. I can't do anything about it." "And I can't." The girl showed some spirit for a second, but the drugs in her body caused her to cringe slighty. "Let's go." She started walking ahead of him. Joe walked behind her for a few minutes not sure what to say, after they'd walked half a mile he finally choked out, "Do you know where you're going?" "I may not know who I am or what happened, but I sure know Saffron, and I know it wasn't winter last time I was here. I'm gonna go to a pokemon center, I don't think they'll turn us away." *** At a distance on a balcony. "I'm worried Switch. What if her memory isn't gone? She seems to be remembering too well. I told you she's too strong." "Not to worry Doctor. It's just images really. A normal person wouldn't have survived, it'll be a miracle if she isn't mad by tomorrow once the drugs wear off and the pain comes back." "We should have kept her here, eventually the truth might have come. Now people have seen her, now she'll go to a pokemon center, but if she uses a finger print chart?" "She won't, be had a comestic surgeon take care of that. We removed scares such as the one over her eye and on her wrists, so that won't provoke memory and changed her finger prints." "A surguon that's also a techinitian." "That's enough Doctor. This is getting out of hand. She won't remember a thing. No one will, and nobody else will see these operations here, word might get back to the president." "Switch this is..." Several tips of guns rushed up to meet the Docotrs face, and they emptied.
