I think I'll stay for a while >longer...just until Round 7 of the tournament starts." > > And with that, the team walked off to see the rest of the ship. > Mandy heard a splash off the side of the ship. She peered at the source of the noise. Ron had gotten on Flipper, but the two of them were being blocked from getting near the dock by something. She released her Magikarp from his Pokeball. "Hurricane, if I don't hit the water right I want you to support me." "Karp." Mandy doubted her sanity in trusting her life to a Magikarp, but this was good training for him. "It was nice meeting you guys. I hope I'll see you around," she called to Amy and her friend. "Ember, watch Amaranth and Ivy." With that she climbed the guardrail, still holding Hurricane, and did a clumsy swan dive into the water. She hit flat on her belly. The pain from the long drop caused her to curl into a ball. She was glad she'd worn her bathing suit, her jeans would have weighed her down and Hurricane wouldn't have been able to help. The large Magikarp was straining to keep her on the surface as it was. Eventually she regained control and hung onto Hurricane with only one arm, paddling with the other. "It's bad enough you had to push me over. Did you really have to jump too?" shouted Ron from atop his Lapras. He put a hand out to help her up onto Flipper's back. "I had to help you," she said with irony seeping from her pores. She gave Hurricane a pat on the head. "What's going on?" "I don't know. Flipper can't get deep enough to see, but he says something keeps ramming him." Mandy considered this, remembering an old legend. "Do you suppose it's the Mew that people say lives in these waters?" "If that's the case, it's not a very nice one. We couldn't defeat a Mew with all our Pokemon combined, let alone just Flipper and Hurricane." "We've got a problem then, don't we?" TBC? Don't worry, neither Mandy nor Ron will catch a Mew. If anyone wants to join in and fight the "Mew", have them come direct from the dock or placed down by a flying Pokemon. I think M+R have proven that it isn't a good idea to bellyflop the height of the Anne. The Mew will turn out to be the Gastly reincarnation of a pokemon that drowned on the last voyage of the S.S. Anne. And yes, I know the "Mew in the water" trick isn't real. -Susan, Jedi Hamster Official WDTSF Spontaneous Vocalization Specialist; Director of Unexpected Screaming. "Trust me!
