From: Josh <diane@magicnet.net> Subject: [PW!] Battling With Brock Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2000 7:46 PM -Battling With Brock-Episode 05 Zane, who was beaten almost to death, is now lying unconscious in a home of a stranger, dreaming about."Darkness.darkness is all I see.all I feel," he thinks. "What am I gonna do? I have three Pokemon, no badges, and I got beat up pretty badly by somebody I don't even know." "Maybe I should just qu." he stops as he sees two figures standing in front of him. It is once again the man and the woman saying the same thing, "Red, Blue, Green, Black, Yellow.find the others," they say repeatedly. "What does this mean? Why are you always bothering me?" He yells at the two figures as they stand still, repeating the same thing. ".No! I'm not gonna quit," he replies to the two figures, "I wont quit!" He suddenly snaps out of his dream and awakens in a mysterious home. He sees Pikachu standing over him and an old man standing in front of him. "Welcome back to the world of the living," the old man says to Zane. ".Who are you?" Zane asks. "My name is Masenko. I live here in Pewter City," the old man says. "Pewter City! I'm in Pewter City!" he says as he sits up. "That's right, I wasn't far off from the woods when I saw your Pikachu. He ran to me and I followed him to you. What happened?" the old man asks. Zane tries to stand and feels a sharp pain in his left arm. He lets out a little yell as he sits back down. "What's wrong with my arm?" he asks. "You broke it. Now can you please answer my question. What happened to you?" Masenko asked. ".I was ambushed by Team Rocket," Zane replied softly. "Should I tell Officer Je." Masenko is interrupted by Zane. "Listen Masenko, can you please wrap my arm with something, because I need to go battle Brock," Zane asks. Masenko smiles, "Sure I will," he says, "But you should go take a quick shower and get something to eat before you go," he says. Zane smiles and, with the help of Masenko, stands up. An hour passes and after a quick shower and a bite to eat, Zane is ready to leave. "Thank you for everything Masenko," Zane says. "No problem," he says, "But if your going to take on Brock, then you should take this." Masenko then gives Zane a pokeball. "You wont beat Brock with your Pokemon. I was going to give that Pokemon to my son, but I never had children," he said. "What is it?" Zane asks. "It's a Bulbasaur," Masenko says, "It will help you a lot against Brock." "Thank you Masenko," Zane says. He then turns around, with Pikachu on his shoulder, and heads for the gym. After a few minutes Zane reaches the gym. He opens the huge doors and walks into a room made completely out of rock. "What is it you want?" a mysterious voice asks. "Are you Brock?" Zane asks. "I am," he replies. "I challenge you to a Pokemon Battle," Zane demands. ".What happened to your arm?" Brock asks. " I broke it," he says, "Now are you ready to battle?" he asks. "I am," Brock says, "It will be a 4 on 4 Pokemon battle," he says. "Fine by me," Zane says. "Go Zubat," Brock says as he releases his Pokemon. "A Zubat.Alright Pikachu, go get him," Zane says. Pikachu jumps onto the floor, completely made of rock, and prepares to battle. "Zubat, use your Wing Attack," Brock says. Zubat flies high in the air and begins to flap it's wings, hitting Pikachu several times with what feels like razors. Pikachu flips backwards, but gets up right away. "Pikachu, use your Thundershock," Zane says. Little sparks start to come out of Pikachu's cheeks, and he hits Zubat with a lot of electricity. Zubat falls to the ground and is recalled by Brock. "Not bad," he says, "Go Vulpix." He releases Vulpix from the Pokeball and it stands right in front of Pikachu. "Vulpix, Quick Attack," Brock says. Vulpix charges at Pikachu and knocks him down. Pikachu flies into the air and lands on the ground hard. "Pikachu, use your Thundershock," Zane says. But at that same time, Brock is telling Vulpix to use his Flamethrower. Both Pokemon use the attacks that their trainers tell them to, and hit each other dead on. Both Pokemon, burned and electrified, fall to the ground and are recalled by their trainers. Zane then chooses Rattata, as Brock chooses Geodude. "Rattata, use your Hyper Fang," Zane says. Once again, Brock tells Geodude to use his Defense Curl. Rattata then chips his tooth while biting down on the hardened Geodude, and is recalled by Zane. Zane then chooses Kakuna, who immediately gets knocked down when Geodude tackles it. Kakuna falls to the ground, and after a few seconds, begins to once again glow. Zane, Brock, & Pikachu look on as they see Kakuna evolve into Beedrill. "Alright, a Beedrill," Zane says. Zane, who is still too happy, forgets that they are battling. While Zane is distracted, Geodude tackles Beedrill once again. Beedrill is hit hard, but seems unaffected by the tackle. Zane once again remembers about the match and orders Beedrill to use his Fury Attack. Beedrill attacks Geodude, hitting him many times, but not hurting him enough. Brock, thinking that Beedrill would eventually beat Geodude, tells Geodude to use his Self Destruct attack. He obeys his trainer, and self-destructs, knocking him and Beedrill both out of the match. "No!" Zane says. He is just about to tell Brock that he doesn't have anymore Pokemon, when the injured Pikachu reminds him of Bulbasaur. "Oh yeah," Zane remembers. "Go Bulbasaur," he says as he releases him from the pokeball. "Bulbasaur," he says as he comes out of the Pokeball. "A Bulbasaur," Brock says, "This might be interesting. Onix.Go!" Onix, a large rock Pokemon, emerges from the Pokeball. "Onix, use your Screech attack," Brock says. A loud noise comes from Onix. It feels like needles in the ears of all their, except for Brock. Bulbasaur starts to fall to the ground, slowly. "Bulbasaur, use your Leech Seed,"Zane says. A seed pops out of Bulbasaurs bulb and lands on Onix. Vines wrap around Onix and start to take his energy. "Now Bulbasaur, use your Vine Whip," Zane says. Bulbasaur hits Onix with it's two vines, and slowly falls to the ground. "Onix.return," Brock says. Zane runs over to Bulbasaur and starts patting him on the head with his one good arm. "Brock walked over to them both and stuck out his hand. "You're a good trainer," Brock says, "I gladly give you the Boulder Badge." Zane extends his hand and takes the Boulder Badge. "Thank you," he says as he pins the Badge on his vest. He shakes Brocks hand, and after a quick stop at the Pokemon Center, leaves Pewter City and heads down Route 3 towards Mt. Moon.
