Now, they have arrived at the field to the south of Pallet, after riding on Dai-Kaioh for a few hours. "That took a while." Lisa said. "Yeah." Sarah replied. "Ok, chichiri, come on out." Sarah released the magnemite. "Oh, yeah. Cell!" Randy shouted. Randy let Cell out. "What did I tell you about that ball?" Cell said. "It was either the ball, or you swim across the ocean." Randy replied. "Oh." "So, Randy, what badge are you gonna get next?" Lisa asked. "I was going to try to get a badge from Saffron." "Oh, yeah." "What gym leader's there?" "Um, Sabrina. She uses psychic pokemon." "Oh. What's good against a psychic?" "I dunno." "Bug moves are good against them, but they're all crappy." Sarah said. "Dang." [After everyone fell asleep....] "CHAAAAAAAABOK!" A voice called from the distance. "What the-" Randy said. The sound was coming from far away. "What the heck was that?" Randy ran toward the source of the sound. An arbok was fighting a flareon. "Chaaaaaabok!" It bit the flareon, poisoning it. "Flare!!!" the flareon screamed. "Bok cha!" It used poison sting. "Eon!" Randy got to the fight. "Cha!!!!" It bit the flareon again. "Why isn't it doing anything?" "Flareon!" "Bui?" An eevee was underneath the flareon, while its mother was taking all of the blows. "It's protecting its baby!" "Chaaaaaaaaaa....." It charged toward the flareon. "Hey! Stop it!" Randy screaned. Randy unsheathed his katana... "Aw, crap." ...which was nothing but a hilt with a little shard of metal on it. "It'll have to do." Randy slahed the cobra. "Bok!" it slithered away. "Flar-*koff* eon." "Bui?" "Flar." The flareon passed out. "Oh crap!" Randy picked it up. "Bui!" "Come on, little guy." The eevee jumped on top of its mother. Randy ran to where the others were sleeping. "LISA! SARAH!" "What?" "Hm?" "Do you have any antidotes?" "Why?" Randy put the flareon and eevee on the ground. " Oh." Sarah reached into her bookbag, and gave Randy a full heal, which he used on the flareon. "Come on!" "*koff*Flar-" It dropped dead. "Bui?" The puppy nudged is mother. "Bui?" He nudged her again. "BUI?" He pushed her. "BUUUUUUUUUIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!" He howled. "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!" you could hear an arcanine howling back. "Sorry, little guy." Randy said. "Bui." "I thought that she'd be okay after I used that full heal." "How did it get poisoned, anyway?" Lisa asked. "She was defending her baby from an arbok." "That explains it." Sarah said. "Huh?" "Arbok use more venom when they're hunting than in regular battles." "Dang. What should I do about this puppy?" "Keep it." "Huh?" "He's an orphan, and he doesn't have anyone else to take care of him." "Well, I guess so." After giving the mother a proper burial, they went back to sleep. Narator: *sniff* The little guy's mother- WAAAAAAAAHHH!
