Slasher!" The persian looked up at his handiwork, and frowned. Seth and Aerie were mostly separate, but one hand was still fused together. "I think I have an idea." "Yeah, might work." "On three..." "THREE!" Seth and Aerie blinked out of existence, then reappeared a foot apart. Aerie smacked her previously-fused hand into her other palm, then pulled her hands apart. Seth, though, looked curious at the opening that his hand had become, and how it was dissolving away, up his arm, almost to his elbow... "SETH!" Aerie grabbed Seth's arm and rammed the opening into his gut, stopping the dissolve. "Oww...what was that..." "Don't you know anything about dittos? About how your own body keeps intact?" Seth blinked. "Sorry. I forgot, it's not something they teach...taught...*will* teach at the Academy." Aerie ran her fingers through a ruffled bit of her hair. "A ditto can't split into two or more pieces, not without becoming an equal number of dittos. That's one way they can reproduce. To fight it, a ditto's body reflexively keeps at least one link between itself if it becomes two or more pieces. Slasher's claws couldn't have done much better than they did. But this means a ditto has to keep its skin intact. If it gets breached, it has to reform its skin, or...well, you saw. It's usually not a problem, but..." Seth blinked, then slowly drew his reformed arm out of his stomach. "Right. I think we might want to get the box to Mimic before I learn any other ways to die." Aerie smiled, then pointed. "This way...I think. By the way, you *have* heard about dittos and salt, right?" TBC? [1] For the old timers: no, I'm *not* saying it this time. Sorry, but introducing a random Tentacool right here, or getting Seth/Aerie to be one at this point, would be stretching things a bit far. Not that I deliberately said it last time, either. ^_-
