From: Shawn Walters <shawwalters@earthlink.net> Subject: [PW!]Introduction to Gamer Date: Sunday, February 13, 2000 11:06 PM Im sorry about the vagueness of this story. It is my first real one, so feedback would be nice. I have no WG, as I have figured introducing a character is better Also, I figure people will like the story as it is about as shallow as some of Icy's (no offense :p) Also, I copied it off my website, so the formatting is wierd. Please excusse this, as it will never happen in any future posts. The forest was dark, with the brooding night sky holding a biting chill. Gamer was trying to get to the next town as quickly as possible, though it was complicated by the fact that he didn't even know where he was. A large tree cast a shadow on him. He turned to look around to meet... A woke up in a warm bed, and he noticed the surroundings to be those of a Pokécenter. He walked down the clean wooden stairs to find a lobby with some people sitting in chairs, all obviously trainers. "What town is this?" "Why, it's Viridian!" Viridian. He must have been going the wrong way. Then he noticed his pokéballs were missing. Gamer walked up to the desk where nurse joy was talking to a trainer. "Excuse me, but did you place my pokéballs in the computer?" "No. When you came in, you had none." "Where is the nearest market?" Gamer was trying to act casual, though he was seething from the pain in his jaw, and the fact that he had no pokémon. He was overtaken by the pain, and couldn't think well. "It's right next door. You look hurt? Are you ok?" Joy was worried. "I'll be fine." This was not true, because he felt he surely had suffered a concussion and that he had a fractured jaw bone. It even pained to open his mouth. "By the way, where is the nearest doctor?" he added, as he was now incapable of holding in the fact that he hurt. "Go down the street and to your left. There is a small clinic there." "Thanks." Gamer decided he would go purchase some pokéballs first. He turned to walk out the door. Oh no, not again! "Where am I?" Gamer questioned the man in a white coat. "Who are you?" He added "I am Dr. Kormen. You are at the Viridian Clinic. You hit the glass on your way out of the pokécenter and passed out." "I have had a bad day." He noticed the pain had receded, and he could think more clearly. "Well... More like a bad week..." "What do you mean?" Gamer asked. "How long have I been here?" "A mere 5 days. We performed some surgery, your jaw was broken, and it should heal shortly. Do you know what broke it?" "I was walking through the forest, then nothing. I woke up in the Pokécenter." "Rockets! We have had a small problem with them here. They have been stealing pokémon. As you have none, I am guessing that is what has happened." Gamer hadn't thought about his pokémon much. His beedrill and pikachu had gone missing. The were most likely going to be used for evil purposes. "I must get my pokémon back!" "Not now! You are still healing. If they hit you again like that, you will have more broken bones." The doctor blocked the door. "All right, I guess you are right." Gamer laid back down and fell asleep almost instantly... Three days later, Gamer was using throwing his pokéball at a ratatta, which he caught easily. "I'll use him to catch some better pokémon, then let him go again." Gamer walked along... "Ratatta! Hyper fang!" Gamer was intent on catching the weedle on the edge of the forest. The Ratatta wouldn't obey! The weedle encased it with it's sticky string. "Ratatta, return!" Gamer pulled out the pokéball, but before he could pull the ratatta into it, the mummified ratatta glowed white. The string snapped and out came a Raticate! "All right, Ratatta, err... Raticate, hyper fang!" "Raticate!" The ratatta attacked the weedle with serious ferocity. The weedle tried to stand up, but before it could give another attack, Gamer caught it with his pokéball. "Chu?" A pikachu crawled out from behind a bush. In it's hands it held a pokéball. It walked up to Gamer and nudged out his leg. Gamer picked up the pokéball. "You want me to be your trainer? Ok then." Gamer opened the pokéball to catch the pikachu, but instead an ekans came out. The pikachu ran back into the bushes. All rright! Two pokémon in one day! "Ekans..." After rigorous training of his pokémon, Gamer was ready to go after TR. Two more trainers had been robbed in the two weeks that had passed. This just made Gamer more anti Rocket. He had become good with all three of his pokémon, especially his ultra-fast raticate. He had even decided to name them. Ultra (the Raticate), Dagger (the weedle), and Venom (the ekans)... Gamer came to Pewter city, where he found a pair of Rockets attacking a Shorts kid, armed only with his little ratatta. "Hey! You guys better get out of here!" "Make us! Koffing go!" The first Rocket sent out a large koffing. Gamer watched was a ball of red energy encircled a small area and materialized into the floating gas PokČmon. "Drowzee, take him out!" The drowzee turned from the Shorts kid, who then fled. "Go, Dagger, Venom, and Ultra!" They were cheating, he may as well too. "Attack them!" "Venom, wrap the koffing! Ultra, agility against the Rockets! Dagger, string shot!" The Rockets were surprised. Before either could utter a command to their pokémon, both were fainted, and on Rocket was knocked off his feet. "Aaah! The cops!" The standing Rocket took off, though the other one was knocked out cold. "Arrest that Rocket! Pursue the other one! Officer Jenny was giving orders to her police squad. "I'd like to thank you for helping capture these crooks..." And in other news today, a kid named Gamer single-handedly caught two Rockets...
