From: Josh <diane@magicnet.net> Subject: [PW!] Showdown With Surge Date: Monday, February 28, 2000 -Showdown With Surge-Episode 09 Zane, Matt, & Pikachu just came from meeting Bill, a Pokemon Expert. He gave them two tickets to get on the S.S. Anne. He wanted to get on the ship, but his first stop was the Gym. ".I wonder what kind of Pokemon he'll use," Zane said to Matt. "He has a Raichu," Matt replied. "A very powerful Raichu," he said, "I've heard plenty of rumors about his Raichu has hospitilized many Pokemon." ".I think I can take him," Zane said. They got off of Matt's Pidgeot, and after recalling the Pokemon, headed for the Gym. When they entered the door, they were confronted by a huge man. ".You must be Surge," Zane softly said. "That's Lt. Surge, who are you?" he asked. "I 'm your next challenger," Zane said. "What! A baby like you! You think that you can beat me?" Surge mockingly said, "Ok then, we'll make it a one on one." "Fine by me," Zane said, "Go Bulbasaur," Zane said as he through the Pokeball into the air. "Raichu, go teach this trainer a lesson," Surge yelled, "Raichu, use your Thundershock." Sparks flew from Raichu's cheeks, then huge bolts of lightning flew across the room. Bulbasaur was hit by it, but it didn't hurt him much. "Bulbasaur, Tackle it," Zane said. Bulbasaur charged at Raichu, but Raichu evaded the attack. "Raichu, use your Thunderwave," Surge yelled as he started to get worried. Once again, bolts of lightning hit Bulbasaur, but this time it affected him. It didn't hurt him, but it paralyzed him. Bulbasaur was unable to move as Raichu came up to him and started to hit him. "Bulbasaur, use your Leech Seed," Zane said. With Raichu so close to Bulbasaur, the seed easily hit him and started to suck away all his energy. With every hit that Raichu gave Bulbasaur, more of his energy was depleted. After a few more hits, Raichu fell to the ground and was defeated. "You did good baby," Surge said as he picked Raichu up. "Here you go," he said as he handed Zane the Thunder Badge. Zane pinned the badge onto his vest, recalled Bulbasaur, and left the gym for the Pokemon Center. After healing his Pokemon, Zane, Pikachu and Matt finally boarded the S.S. Anne.
