Cont. from Excentric Electric
"Okay, Ember. You're on!" Mandy patted Ember's shoulder as she trotted to her
place.
"Electrode, go!" An electrode rolled over. "Thundershock!"
"Stomp it away!" The stomp connected as the electrode started the
thundershock, fortunately Ember's hooves didn't conduct electricity too well.
The shock rattled her a little, but no paralysis.
"Tackle!" The electrode defide physics for three seconds and jumped into the
air, over a frantic Ember. It crashed down pretty badly, then rolled away.
Ember looked hurt, but she stood up again.
"Ember, trap it in a firespin!" Flames rose high around the Electrode, forcing
the electric trainer to recall it. "Great job, Ember! Stay out there!"
"Electabuzz, your turn!" Mandy's triumphant expression quickly turned to
worry.
"Ember, firespin!" Flames once again rose, but the Electabuzz walked through
them before they could singe him too badly.
"Thunder!" The room darkened and then lit up with lightning, aimed at the
hapless ponyta. A boom resounded as the attack connected. When the room lit up
again, Ember lay sprawled on the floor. This was too much. Amaranth squeaked in
distress.
"Ember, return." The ball engulfed Ember. "You'll pay for that. Amaranth, your
turn." Amaranth looked suddenly fierce. She'd never seen Ember faint before,
and was going to make the Electabuzz who did it pay.
"Electabuzz, slam!" Amaranth easily dodged the much bigger assailant.
"Amaranth, vinewhip then absorb!" Amaranth stretched vines to lash at the
Electabuzz. It cringed as the vines wraped around it and slowly drained its
energy.
"Get out of it! Use thunderbolt!" The electabuzz struggled, but couldn't
summon much more than a static bolt in his weak state.
"Finish him off! Lift him up with your vinewhip, then let go!" The Electabuzz
ht the ground with a resounding *THUMP*. "Great job, Ammie! We've got to get
Ember to a Pokecenter now." Mandy hoisted the little oddish to her shoulder and
ran out before Ron or the electric trainer could say a word. Ron shrugged and
ran after her, cradling Cloe.
