She looks down at her body through circular shades, to admire her disguise - a tight green top, black gloves, her usual belt with attached supplies, brown shorts, and dark brown boots. She grins at the grass-skirt wearing Chansey toddler on the bed in her cabin on the S. S. Anne, "Do you think I should start speaking with a British accent or would that be copyright infringement?" Omelette the Chansey doesn't understand the question, but she just smiles and says, "Chansey, chansey!" "I'm going to explore the ship. Come with me." Minax grabs a Pokeball off her belt and extends the sphere outward, releasing Zubat, her first Pokemon. She says, "I want you to keep your ears open and make sure Omelette doesn't get into trouble." The blue bat Pokemon nods, and slightly cringes when he senses that he is in a structure that is below sea level. He remembers the horrors that ensued last time he was in such an environment, over one year ago, "Zuuu..." Minax heads out of her cabin, room 41, whose door has a Zubat picture on it. A young Chansey and an old Zubat follow Minax on her trek down the empty corridor that is the fourth sub level of the S. S. Anne ship. As Minax walks eastward, the pictures of Pokemon on the cabin door differ: Golbat, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Paras, Parasect, Venonat, Venomoth, then the hallway ends at the eastern staircase. Minax decides to go downward, towards the bottom of the ship. The staircases seem to go on forever, but Omelette holds back whines so as to not disappoint her surrogate mother. * Flashback * "Hurry, Zubat - the ship is sinking! I can't lose you too." Minax, wearing a white Team Rocket uniform, races up the staircase, from the bottom of the ship to the top, still feeling bad about what happened just moments ago down below. Zubat, who is flapping his wings rapidly to keep up with his trainer, has tears in his eyes, but Minax's eyes are dry - not because she isn't sad, but because she promised herself she wouldn't cry when she became Minax, not too long ago. As Minax runs towards the deck of the ship, fleeing from the advancing water, she releases her pent up anger by yelling, "Why Weezing?!" * End of Flashback * "Weezing..." Minax's eyes, hiding behind the shades, widen a little in surprise. With all the Pokemon lives she had taken in the past year on her mind, she had forgotten about Weezing - the main cause of her strong urge to kill. When she reaches the lowest level of the S. S. Anne that can be accessed through public staircases, Minax kicks open the first door she sees. The room behind the open door is a janitor's closet. But it's not just any janitor's closet - it's THE janitor's closet. * Flashback * Minax lands on her butt inside the first hiding place she could find - a janitor's closet on one of the lower floors of the ship. She is still panting from the chase that ensued after Dreadite disappeared into a wall of flames. She thought that people wouldn't notice her stealing one measly Pokeball when they are watching a man create fire with his hands, but she was wrong. The man that she stole from did notice. Minax wipes her forehead, relieved that people who are astute enough to spot Rockets haven't formed an organization against Rockets. She whispers to herself, "You'd think the outfit would be a dead giveaway." Minax looks at the bright red "R" painted on her white shirt, "Maybe I should start wearing something less conspicuous." "Purrrhaps." The gentle yet sinister feline voice echoes in Minax's mind as an angry looking but otherwise cute pink Mew appears in a flash of blue light. The extremely rare psychic kitty stares at Minax with his large blue eyes. Minax's dark brown eyes grow very wide at the creature who is floating idly before her, "It's a M-m-m-mew! It's a talking Mew! If I catch this, the Boss will promote me to an even higher rank than Dreadite! Okay, Mew, you're mine!" "No, you're *mine*." The Mew taps his tail onto Minax's forehead and many of Minax's memories are put into his mind in less than a second, "So, Marcie, is Doppler really the creature that you hate most in this universe? Even more than your father?" The mention of three things that she doesn't talk about with anyone - her real name, Doppler, and her father, paralyzes Minax with fear. She doesn't dare reach for the only empty Pokeball on her belt, "What do you know about my father?" "Only what you know - which isn't much. I do know about Doppler, however, and I can tell you that he isn't your greatest foe." The Mew looks from left to right and explains, "His morals will prevent him from many actions. I'm more concerned about Doppler's brother, one called Mimic. He seems to have no morals, unlike Doppler, as I've witnessed. He's gone so far as to deceive a human woman to procreate with him. I doubt that Doppler would do that, unless he'd take some some unwitting human, say you, and cultivate a human in a laboratory, but that is rather unlikely. Mimic is the true villain." Minax's jaw remains ajar for a moment before she replies, "Doppler doesn't have a brother. I've been conducting research on Doppler for two months now, ever since he destroyed Celadon City, and I've never come across the word 'Mimic'." Laughter comes from the Mew's tiny mouth, "Humans are so limited. I'm sure you have noticed by now, but in case you are in doubt, I'd like you to know that my omniscience rivals the imperfect Mewtwo's omnipotence. This is why you should believe me. It is also why I'm much more suited to rule the world than your Team's 'Boss'. In fact, I think I'll take his place for a while." "No! I'll... I'll KILL you before you replace my Boss!" Minax exclaims, frustrated and angry at the know-it-all Mew before her. The Mew rolls his eyes and calmly states, "Spare me. You have never killed a Pokemon in your entire lifetime, and even if you decided to start now, it's quite impossible to kill a Mew. I mean, really, what are you going to use? The only weapon that you own? The measly knife given to you by your mother? It won't work. I'm the one who's capable of killing you, but you're not a threat to me or anything that I am trying to accomplish, so I'll let you live. I have more important targets." Minax looks down at her left thigh-high black boot, her skinning knife's hiding place, and sighs when she realizes that the Mew is right - she can't kill him with a mere knife. "Well, if I can't kill you, then I'll just have to catch you! First, to weaken you..." Without thinking of any weaknesses or strengths, Minax reaches for the Pokeball of one of her two Poison Pokemon, "Koffing, go!" She drops the Pokeball on the floor and a happy purple Koffing appears, exclaiming, "Koff, Koffing!" The Mew looks at Minax with sarcasm on his countenance, "Your Koffing? You must be joking. Even your Zubat would have been a better choice, even though his attempts to defeat me would be just as futile. I'll be a good sport and let you attack first." "Koffing, Sludge attack!" Minax shouts, pointing at the scoffing Mew. The floating Koffing inhales some air, then spits out a bile black Sludge fluid at the Mew floating directly in front of him. The slime slides right off of the Mew's forehead without causing any damage. Koffing's smile turns upside down and since he's so worried about the seemingly omnipotent Pokemon's retaliation, he releases toxic gas from each and every hole on his spherical body, "KOFFING!" Since she's in a closed space, Minax coughs due to the Koffing fumes that aren't able to disperse. The only thing she notices while suffocating in the smog-filled room is a bright flash of purple followed by a flash of blue. She kicks the door of the closet open and heads outside. When the fumes dissipate, Koffing is fainted inside the janitor's closet - in an empty bucket, right next to a yellow "Piso Mojado" sign. Minax sighs at losing the chance to catch a Mew, spewing forth smog in the process. * End of Flashback * Minax blinks at the sight of the yellow "Piso Mojado" sign inside the closet. She shakes her head and turns away from the closet, "I shouldn't have come down here. I can't stand these memories. I'm going upstairs to get some fresh air on the ship's deck." She turns around and races back towards the staircase. Omelette the Chansey looks at the staircase, looks down at her aching pink feet, and shakes her head. Zubat sighs, wishes he had eyes to roll, and leans down so that Omelette can ride him. The young Chansey mounts Zubat, who slowly follows Minax as she climbs up to the open air area. When Minax arrives at the ship's deck, she remembers why she didn't want to go back up there - many people are gathered there to socialize. But since Minax is wearing a Lara Croft disguise, she is confident that no one will recognize her true identity, meaning that as long as she keeps her shades on and speaks in a fake British accent, she can mingle with anyone who cares to approach her. When Zubat arrives at the ship's deck, sweating from all the work he's done, he places Omelette on the floor and sits down on Minax's shoulder. Minax frowns, "You're supposed to be baby-sitting Omelette, not resting on my shoulder!" Zubat falls face flat onto the ground, "Bat." -Minax
