From: Zephyr (zephyr@1stConnect.com) Subject: [PW!] Breakdown Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000/03/26 Drew awoke from his slumber, his head throbbed from the fall he took. It seems whilst suffering from temporary hysteria people tend to commit "rash" actions, the point illustrated as he found a baseball bat in his hand. Drew made his way past the sleeping bodies of Yoda and Gohan, who were unfortunate enough to be in the line of sight of, the no longer hysterical, Drew. Emptiness, some sort of insatiable thirst burned within Drew. Had he wasted all this time in ATR and not accomplish a single thing? If so, then there would be no point in continuing. If he had accomplished something then what was it, and did it have any affect at all. No, everything was just a blur. Life, the past, the present, and the future, all just a blur in which he was to blindly follow. Memories, Drew no longer had . Memories of his family, friends, all gone. All that remained was ATR, his "surrogate" family. His pokemon, lost friends from the past, needed their freedom and Drew so painfully understood that. This made it clear, Drew was to release them and let them live their own lives and no longer be dependent upon him. Drew pressed the 'release' button as a click was heard, revealing his pokemon. "Leave...", Drew commanded with no regret whatsoever. His pokemon stood there dazed and confused of what was happening. "Dammit, Leave! I never loved you guys, all you were to me were tools. Tools that I would use for my own personal gain. Everything you did, everything you so diligently worked for, was for me and me alone. I have no regret, because to have regret means that you would actually have had to care. No not me, not Drew...", the words flowed out of Drew's mouth as river of fury. The words found their mark, the pokemon stood there somewhat regretting the fact that they even trusted their so called master. They quickly made their way out of the room and into the ship. Drew stood their tears in his eyes, he was heading for a breakdown and there was nothing he could do to circumvent it. No drugs would help this time, like they have the previous times. No, will power would be the only alternative and will power is what Drew lacked in. Drew trembled as he made his way to his computer. A replacement would be good for the team. Someone new, someone innocent, though that would quickly change as the team quickly corrupted that individual. Drew didn't care, all ATR wanted was bodies and in his eyes they didn't care who go hurt, just as long as the mission was accomplished. Hysterical or not Drew quickly accessed the Pokemon League files. "So many victims to choose from, so little time...", Drew thought to himself as he poured himself some vodka. The moon's light peered in through the cabin's skylights. Lucky for them, ATR had a huge budget that was used for all their needs. "All this time, all this time, why...why me. It wasn't because I had any special skills. It was because I was young and foolish. They took advantage of me...thos BASTARDS!" Drew yelled as he threw object after object. His tantrum ceased as soon as he heard foot steps. It was only a couple making their way to their cabin. "That's one thing I'll never have a chance to do. I'll never be able to love someone, never be able to know someone...", Drew's mumbling continued. His hysteria and anxiety was getting the best of him, his logic distorted. The keys were quickly struck as Drew entered his "criteria" into the search engine. The computer whirred as it processed the data. Drew looked over to the moon and thought back to what his mom said, "The world's sole purpose is to break people, and those that it cannot break it destroys...". "All these days I've pushed, all the times I've lied to myself, and all the dreams I've broken have done nothing more but led to my breakdown.", Drew thought to himself as sighed deeply and waited for the results. OOC: It's rushed but eh, Dry kept bothering and also I haven't posted an ATR post in er....never. -- Zephyr
