From: Dryad (dryad48@aol.commoner) Subject: [PW!] Dreamaway Death or Breakdown the Golden Karps? Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000/04/01 Yes, very few of these lines in this story, I have actually written..... Raven caught sight of another ATR next to him. "Derrick. Heh" "Heh Raven." Derrick answered. "Slow night ain't it?" Raven said. "Bah. Just relaxing. We better get our rest who knows what will happen in the next month......." Derrick drifted off. "Yeah." Raven nodded. "I haven't trained my pokemon in months." "Really?" Derrick asked. "I forgot their names heh. I think I should just bring some of them out. " Raven threw two pokeballs into the ground. A Scyther and a Primeape popped out. "They need to stretch." The Primeape and Scyther looked at their master. Knowing they haven't seen action in months they looked eager to be out. "You two spar each other." Raven said. The Primeape and Scyther nodded and began to attack each other. Raven sat down and watched. Derrick looked to the sea once and joined Raven. Raven spoke, "You aren't like those other idiots. You are actually quiet. What happened to you in Viridan you keep it to yourself." "How did you know?" Derrick began. "Nevermind. Listen...Do me a favor." Raven looked at the dark sky. "Yes?" Derrick answered. "The next mission is going to be harsh. If I die.......would You lead ATR?" There was silence, then Derrick replied, "No." ".........." "I mean, yes!" "........" "No, I don't know! I'll think about it." Derrick broke down to his feet. "Why me? I don't have any leadership skills...." In response to this, Raven pointed to a drunk group: Derek, Gohan and Fox dancing in women's nighties singing "We Are the World." They were only to be taken away when they started their 'Singin' in the Rain' number over the aquarium. "I see..." Derrick took out two pokeballs and dropped them to the ground, sending out Magneton and Pinsir. You two train with the Scyther and Primeape, I need to clear my head. There was a man rolling a cart around with a fishtank carrying many tiny golden magikarps. "Shall I trouble you for a golden magikarp? Worth BIG BUCKS!" "No thanks..." Derrick walked on. But as he slowly strided down the planks of the S. S. Anne, he heard the rolling of a cart. It started out so very faint, like the wings of a firefly. With each few steps he took, Derrick could hear it wheeling closer and closer and closer. He turned around and saw how deserted what he hadn't faced was. When he looked back, Derrick ran into the same man. "ARE you suuuuuuure?" he asked. "He picked up another Magikarp by the tail and flopped it about. "Tell you what, I lower the price! Eh?" "........" Derrick ignored him and kept walking. "Fifty percent OFF!" Derrick ignored him and kept walking. "Seventy five percent OFF!" Derrick didn't look where he was going when he turned the corner, and ran into a little boy. "HEY I'M NEW HERE. IF YOU WANT TO KNOE ABOOT POKEMON, ASK ME." Derrick pointed to the Magikarp man. "OOOHHH!" The boy dashed up holding a thick wallet. As Derrick made his escape, he had to make his way past a sudden barrage of pokemon running from the cabins. In his few minutes at peace, Derrick slipped down the stairway into the cabin hallways, and looked for his room. Upon passing by a couple and almost turning dirrection, he caught sight of Drew. Quickly he got out of the way, as Drew seemed very angry about something. "All this time, all this time, why...why me. It wasn't because I had any special skills. It was because I was young and foolish. They took advantage of me...thos BASTARDS!" Drew yelled as he threw object after object. His tantrum ceased as soon as he heard foot steps. It was only a couple making their way to their cabin. "That's one thing I'll never have a chance to do. I'll never be able to love someone, never be able to know someone...", Drew's mumbling continued. His hysteria and anxiety was getting the best of him, his logic distorted. The keys were quickly struck as Drew entered his "criteria" into the search engine. The computer whirred as it processed the data. Drew looked over to the moon and thought back to what his mom said, "The world's sole purpose is to break people, and those that it cannot break it destroys..." "All these days I've pushed, all the times I've lied to myself, and all the dreams I've broken have done nothing more but led to my breakdown.", Drew thought to himself as sighed deeply and waited for the results. Derrick knew this wasn't a very good time to disturb Drew, so he silently made his way long the moonlit floor, past Drew while he was looking towards the moonlit sky. The sky departed all clouds from it's sight, and all stars sparkled in the sky, yet at the same time, the shine seemed dim. He quickly turned the corner down the final hallway stretch towards his cabin, but as he walked, he heard the shouting of a familiar voice emanating through one cabin door. "The man who I'd never forgive, the only damn reason I joined anti team rocket, DREADITE!!!!!!!" Hearing this, Derrick walked even faster towards his cabin, nervously took out his key, opened the door furiously, nearly jumped through vigorously, slamed the door shut insanely, jumped on the bed immediately, and sighed fearfuly. "What has Ani-Team Rocket become?" To Be Continued
