She had never driven a car before, neverless a motorcycle. The wet roads had made the tires lose traction, but she managed to drive it well. She stepped off the bike and stared up at the volcano. Steam arose out from it due to the rain. Josh had gone up there, somewhere. For saftey measures, Jessie desided to release her Pokemon. "Electa!" "Mander! Char!" "'Aunter! Ar Har Har!" "Rina! Nido-rina!" Immediatly, Vulcan the Charmander started to run around in circles, holding his flame-lit tail close to him. "Oh, I almost forgot. Sorry, babe." Jessie returned Vulcan. She had learned from Nick that Vulcan's flame was just too weak to be able to withstand the rain, even though it was barely a drizzle now. So with that, Jessie, Electra the Electabuzz, Haunter, and Nidorina started to climb up the volcano, not knowing what awaited them. * * * * * At the top of the volcano, the weather seemed worse. Lightning was striking close by, and the wind was heavy. Arcturus, the strange alien, was standing lookout. Josh was keeping an eye on an unconsious Nick, while listening to a radio. The weather made reception terrible. "TH-th-This just in........inabar Island Vol............Richter Scale, 3.2............lava........but it still could bl-..........must evac-......" "Damn this radio!," Josh cursed. "Arc, I think there's a problem!" Arcturus slowly turned his head towards him. The evil glow in his eyes got to Josh. "Uhh.. the radio.. the guy... he.. uh.." "This whole island is going to be destroyed," Arcturus mumbled, turning away. "Yeah, ok, I'm not denying your super, out-of-this-galaxy powers, but not even you could destroy Cinnabar Island!" "Foolish primate..." * * * * * By the time Jessie had gotten to the top of the volcano, the weather had really picked up. Rain was pouring, and the wind was gusting. With all the rain and steam, Jessie couldn't see a thing. "JOSH!," she screamed. "WHERE ARE YOU?!?" * * * * * "DAMMIT ARC, IT'S TOO DANGEROUS UP HERE!," Josh yelled. Although he was standing next to him, he had to yell to be heard. But Arcturus just ignored him. Then they heard a faint voice. "josh." Barely audible in all the thunder and rain. "where are you, dammit?" "IT'S JESSIE!," Arcturus yelled. He flew up into the sky. "JOSH!!!," Jessie yelled. "WHERE ARE-" Arcturus landed right in front of her. All she could see his shadow and dimly lit eyes. "IT'S TIME TO FACE YOUR FEARS, HUMAN!" He smacked her right across her face, and she fell to the ground in one blow. She felt a pain in her stomach. "Hopefully the baby is ok," she thought. "ELECT-AAAAH!" Electra exploded in rage, and tried to use her Thunder ability. But with the downpour of rain, it cause the whole half side of the volcano to discharge in lightning. Since Jessie had laid low to the ground, only Arcturus was hit. Jessie could hear his screams of pain, and the hissing of his electrified corpse. At first she thought he was dead. Then she heard a horrific scream. Like nothing she had ever heard before. "EEEEERRRRRRREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" Jessie's body clentch in fear, for she was ready for Arcturus to tear into her and spilt her into pieces. But as she looked up, she was his dark shadow fly into the sky. "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!," he yelled. "YOU HAVE YET TO FACE YOUR FEARS!" Slowly, Jessie sat up. Looks like everything will be alright. But then she felt the earth move. It was an exhilarating expieriance, but it frightened her. It almost felt like the Cinnabar Island volcano was going to explode... "Oh my god, the volcano's going to erupt!," she thought out loud. She saw it happen once before, when she was about 7. It was in the middle of the night. It had woke her up, and she stayed up all night with Nick, watching in the lava flow. But it was only a minor eruption, and only caused a few road blocks here and there. But she was safe back then. Now, Jessie was at the mouth of the volcano. Her instinct told her to run for her life, and she almost did. Then she remembered why she came up there in the first place. "NICK!," she screamed. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" She crawled along the ground, trying to find him. Eventually she came across her group of Pokemon, and quickly returned them to their Pokeballs. She continued to crawl, and finally grabed onto Nick. She huggled him, then started to drag his limp body down the volcano slope. When she got to the bottom, she brought Nick into a small cave, and tried to revive him. "Nicky, please wake up," she said as she started to cry. "Well, Jessie, I must thank you for getting rid of that Arcturus.. thing," Josh said. Jessie turned around. "What have you done to him?!" "Forget him. Wait 'till you see what I'm going to do to you, babe," he said with a wink. With that, Jessie charged at Josh and pushed him out of the cave and into the rain. By now, some lava had already leaked out, and when mixed with the rain, it created a lot of steam. Some cracks in the ground had developed revealing lava pools. The volcano itself had spilt apart from the original island. Jessie kicked Josh in the gut, making him fall to his knees. She grabed him by his hair and pulled him up. "Now I'm giving you one last chance," she warned him. "Leave me and Nick alone!" "Die, bitch," he muttered. Jessie lost control over herself, and threw Josh away as hard as she could. He stumbled off the ground and into a lava pool. Jessie turned away just in time, but she still heard Josh's last cry for help before he died. "Oh my god, I just killed him," she whispered. "...Jessie?" She looked towards the cave. "Nick?" He had regained conciousness, and was standing in the mouth of the cave. "Jessie!" "Nick!" They ran towards each other and hugged. "I love you, Nicky." "I love you too, Jessie." Then they kissed. For what seemed like a long time. But.. it just didn't feel right. They stopped, and stared into each others eyes with confused looks. Their moment was interupted when the volcano erupted in full force. A full blast of molten lava exploded from it. The explosion was so powerful, Nick and Jessie went flying in different directions. Quickly, they tried to join together again, but the ground started to spilt all over the place. Lava and total chaos had seperated them. They desperatly reached for each other's hands, but they were just inches too far. That was the last time Nick had ever saw Jessie. She was hysterically crying. Never before had she thought about ever leaving his side. She was now facing her true worst fear; being seperated from Nick. A fear that she knew could kill her if the volcano didn't.
