From: bbd127@aol.com (bbd127@aol.com) Subject: [PW!] It sure beats the Holiday Inn Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000/08/12 (OOC: Yeah, yeah, it's short, I know. Just wait'll we get to Koga, then the action will pick up.) ?Oh, man, I?m exhausted,? complained Suik. ?You?re not the only one,? said Taron. ?Not to mention tired, hungry, and bored. It?s too late to battle Koga tonight. Let?s just find a hotel somewhere and stay the night.? ?I?m with you,? Procyon said. ?But there?s no need for that. Don?t forget, this is my home town too. I?m sure my mom would be happy to have us for the night.? ?That?s not a bad idea! How far away is your house?? ?Not far. It?s this way.? Half an hour later Ding, dong, chimed the doorbell. Procyon stepped back and awaited his mother?s arrival. Moments later they heard someone moving inside the house, and the door opened. ?Hi, mom,? Procyon said. ?Procyon!? she cried. ?It?s you! You?re back!? She smiled. ?Come in, come in. It?s great to see you again. I?ve missed you!? The three of them followed Procyon?s mother into the house and sat down on chairs in the living room. She made herself comfortable on the couch nearby. ?So who are your friends? I haven?t been introduced.? ?Oh! I forgot. This is Suikatuki ? Suakitaku ? Sukutaik ?? he sweatdropped slightly, and cleared his throat. ?Well, anyway, we call him Suik. And this,? he gestured to the other member of their party, ?is Taron, my friend and constant traveling companion ever since Pewter City. Together we?ve collected five of the eight badges we need to enter the Pokemon League, and we?re here in Fuchsia for the sixth.? ?Oh, that?s wonderful, honey,? she said. ?You can all stay here as long as you want. There?s room in the back for you to let out your Pokemon, if you want.? After they had taken advantage of her offer (and shown her all the Pokemon they had accumulated) she insisted on talking with them all some more. She hadn?t seen her son for months, and Taron and Suik were the only company she?d had in quite a while. ?So how has your journey been going?? she wanted to know. ?I can see you?re progressing nicely in terms of badges, but how are things otherwise? Have you been having fun? Anything interesting happen?? ?Er.. well..? Procyon began, ?a few things, I guess. We?ve, ah, been haunted by a ghost, competed in a race, encountered a Legendary Bird, taught Bulletwing to fly, picked up some TMs, made Sabrina really mad, caught Pokemon by throwing shoes at them, survived a Chansey attack, rewritten the Pokedex, figured out how to manipulate NPCs, broken at least two major laws of physics, discovered latent mental abilities, dealt with a superbeing that treated us like ants, confronted our pasts, and eaten one whole heck of a lot of hamburgers.? She smiled at them. ?How sweet,? she said. They all sweatdropped. The night went uneventfully, and they awoke the next morning to a breakfast of eggs and pancakes. Nobody was complaining. ?Wow,? said Taron. ?I think this is the first time this month I?ve had anything this good for breakfast.? There were nods of agreement around the table. ?I?m glad you like it,? she said. ?So, then. When are you going to have to go?? ?Well.. actually pretty soon, if that?s all right,? Procyon told her. ?We really do need to compete for a Soul Badge, and now that our Pokemon are all healed, we should probably do that first thing.? She sighed. ?All right. Just don?t forget to write, or at least call, once in a while! And have fun with your friends.? ?Sure!? Breakfast was soon over, and they headed out the door once more. ?Bye, everyone!? she called. ?Good luck in your battle! Try to stay out of trouble! Bye!? They all waved back at her, and within moments Procyon?s house was out of sight. Once more they were on the road to the Pokemon League. ?Hey, Procyon,? said Suik, ?your mom is a really nice lady.? ?Thanks!? ?Yeah,? said Taron, ?and pretty too!? ?Thanks ? hey, wait a minute!!!? Taron laughed. TBC
