It had been nearly a month since Caleb had left Pewter city, Kivan and
Ilanna. True at times he missed them, but he had no responsibilities
anymore. He thought of them as He recalled his fainted Ditto, Doppel. He
had decided a week ago he was going to beat all the gym leaders and enter
the league he had only ever beaten Sabrina before now, but he was facing
off against Koga today. Hmmm, Venomoth, weak against what...I know! Caleb
thought.
" RAICHU! GO!" Caleb took the Pokeball from inside his coat and threw it.
" Rai!" Raichu grinned at the Venomoth.
" Raichu, Rai....CHUUUU!!!" He let out a thunderbolt which bought Venomoth
to the ground, slightly crisper than before.
" Hmm, Venomtoh return. A truly strong Raichu you have there, trainer.
Worthy of this Soul Badge,"
" Thankyou master Koga, farewell," Caleb turned and left the gym. He looked
down at Fuschi city and began his decent towards it. He decided he wanted
to celebrate his recent victory and went to a small corner bar.
" Sorry friend we're closing," The bargirl said.
" Please, just a small drink I've come from the mountains,"
" Oh ok," There were three other people in the bar, one had alot of stubble
and wore a short antique brown leather jacket. The other wore a green tweed
suit and the last wore a wool pullover.
" Fancy a ciggarette friend?" Asked the stubbley man.
" Nah thanks, don't smoke," Caleb replied.
" Fair enough. So what's your name, I havn't seen you around here before,"
" Caleb, Caleb Maccen,"
" Maccen?" The bargirl turned around.
" Yeah, so?"
" You're the bounty hunter ain't ya?"
" I kind've quit..."
" Listen, I'm running a small...job for a friend of mine. All these guys
are working on it. We're short on mercenarys as it is, could you help us
out?"
" What? No, I just escaped from this kind of crap,"
" The pay is ample, It would be really helpful..."
" Please, I'm not going back into that business for anyone,"
Caleb thought back to Ilanna how he had helped her in this sort of
situation.
" Please Mr.Maccen?"
" Look... Hmm, ok," Caleb sighed, he'd promised himself he would never do
anything like this again, oh well, promises are made to be broken aren't
they?
