From: Pipian the Drunken Elf (pipian@mindspring.com) Subject: [PW!F][ATTN: Tech] One Cherry Coke with Ice, Please... Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000-12-18 20:26:04 PST I was bored and couldn't think of any long extended plot to get us together (If you still want to, otherwise just respond in a negative non-joining type way... But I'd prefer if you did.) After having camped out in the middle of nowhere, thanks to Yuki's 'plan,' it seems that Mamoru and Yuki are lost, but are they really? [Where are we?] asked Mamoru, still in the back of Yuki's head. [Did you get us lost again?] [No, I didn't. I just know a little shortcut... This way...] She pushed aside a branch and there, to the south, lay the entrance to Goldenrod City. [You sure got us here fast.] [Of course I did. I know all SORTS of shortcuts here in Johto. I know some in Kanto too, but not as many.] [Whatever... But they do come in handy!] He browsed through Yuki's mind (at least the portions that weren't locked by her) and found the mental map of the shortcuts in Johto. [I'll have to study this. You just keep moving up towards Violet City.] [Will do.] Yuki then turned and began to walk north. Of course, with Mamoru occupied and no one in sight, the walk was, for the most part uneventful, but right before going through where the Sudowoodo had lain in years past, Yuki heard some twigs snap off in the forest on her left. Knowing the simple minds of criminals, animals, and the like, she quietly tiptoed over to see who, or what, made the noise. She glanced into the woods and saw a silhouette that shot off and disappeared. She pondered for a moment what it could have been, but she shook her head and walked onward towards Violet City. As it was *HARDLY* near sundown, and she had no reason to stop in Violet City, she decided to keep going on towards Mr. Pokémon's house. As she left Violet City, Mamoru chose this time to wake up from his map-induced slumber. [Wha? Where are we? Is it my turn to take control?] [As a matter of fact... Yes, it is your turn, I think... We're just outside of Violet City... We're pretty close to Mr. Pokémon's place, actually...] As she said this, she took out their hot water thermos and poured a bit out on her head. As their body changed yet again, and their minds switched places, Yuki made sure to leave the body on *AUTO-PILOT* this time, so that Mamoru wouldn't 'faint' as she had accidentally done before. [...! Oh, OK, here we are.] Mamoru mentally fumbled for the 'controls' and made himself trip, as he often did after the switch... Yuki performed the mental equivalence of a sweatdrop. *SHE* always took control more smoothly than Mamoru did... Mamoru finally found the right 'control' and he started to walk again. [At least no one's around today,] said Yuki. [Hey, that *IS* very odd... I wonder why?] asked Mamoru. [Well, supposedly, Mr. Pokémon's been here a while, so he might... tell... us...] [Hmm? What are you pausing... like... this... for?] [Look at the ground up there...] [Eh?] Mamoru quickly took note of what his eye's were seeing. [That might explain somethings here. Looks like it rained and the mud kinda washed everything out...] [Exactly.] [We can't walk on mud, though... Can we?] [No, not exactly... Considering the *SLOPE* of the hill, we'd probably slip, fall, and get all muddy. Not exactly the appearance we want with Mr. Pokémon. But, fear not!] [Great...] muttered Mamoru. [I put some cleats in the bag. Just get them out of there.] [Fine.] He reached in. [OK... Slimy... Round... Biting... kinda soft... Pointy... This is them...] He pulled them out and proceeded to put them on, and before long, they were on their way to Mr. Pokémon's house, which they made by four in the afternoon. Mamoru knocked on the door. "Hello? Is anyone home?" "Is anyone home?" came a reply. "OF COURSE! Now I can't let you in unless you've got some sort of meeting with me for some reason... And you certainly don't seem to be OLD enough to meet with me... Who are you?" "Uh... I'm Mamoru. I was sent by Jasmine to get some information on somethings." "OH! Mamoru. I've been expecting you!" He opened the door and let Mamoru in. "Hey, I was told there was a girl with you too. Yuki?" "Uh..." [Just tell him the truth. He looks like a trustworthy guy...] "Well, I *AM* Yuki..." "What? You're Yuki? You crossdress?" "No... It's just that when I was young, I fell in a cursed spring which cursed me with a girl's body when splashed with cold water and a boy's body when splashed back with warm water. I gained Yuki's personality in that mix..." "So... You are normally a girl then?" "No... I'm normally a boy" Both Mamoru and Yuki hated having to explain the curse to others, but they knew they'd have to do so all the time... "Anyway... I'm here to get some data Jasmine says you have..." "Yes... Uh... Here it is." He handed Mamoru some sealed envelopes. "Basically, the documents say that the pokemon color depends on the breeding process. It's kinda complicated, but apparently a wild version is a one in 1,048,576 chance, while breeding two good pokemon is a one in 512 chance... Whoops, that's for one specific type... It's a bit more common than those stats, but still pretty rare..." "Thanks. Hey, I was wondering if you knew where Ash Ketchum is or a Metal Coat?" "Ash? I haven't heard from Ash in a while... After the whole Indigo League meeting a few years ago, he wrote to Professor Oak that he was going off to train some more and make his pokémon even more insanely powerfull. Professor Oak comes by every often, so that's how I know. But that's *ALL* I know as well... As for a metal coat, I *REALLY* don't know... I've heard that there are a few metal coats in the world, but not very many. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help." "That's OK. Well... We've really got to go and get to a Pokémon Center. It's getting late... It's almost 6." "That's OK. But I'ts gonna be harder going up the hill tonight than back down... They say it's going to freeze tonight. And even if it wasn't, it'd take a good few hours to get back, because it's uphill. I'd say it's better to go on down to Cherrygrove and spend the night there." "Thanks for the advice." Mamoru then left Mr. Pokémon's place and kept going south. [You think we oughta call Jasmine?] [Not yet. We can wait until we get to the Pokémon Center.] About 30 minutes later, it was almost pitch black, and the clouds from earlier had not yet gone away. It began to rain, and with the cold rain freezing upon impact with the ground, upon contact with Mamoru, Mamoru became Yuki, who didn't have much of a problem with transferring minds. She began to run and quickly got into Cherrygrove and reached the Pokémon Center. "Oh! Hello!" said Nurse Joy. "Are you here to heal your Pokémon?" "No we just need to spend the night... It's freezing rain out there." "Oh my! It *IS* as bad as the weatherman predicted... I think the roads will be closed until midday tomorrow when it's supposed to warm up into the 70's." "The 70's? And it's freezing tonight?" "Well, here in Cherrygrove, we unfortunately get the best of both worlds... The tropical air from the Orange Islands comes up during the day, making us get into the 90's and 100's for the summer and 50's and 60's in the winter, but at night, the frigid arctic air comes down from up around Mt. Mortar and Ice Path. But I've dealt with this before. I've lived here for 20 YEARS! So I assure you that it will be fine by noon tomorrow." "Well, then we can sleep in..." Yuki walked past her, thanking her for her help and immediately claimed a spot on the sofa across from a lanky teenage girl who looked like she was just sleeping... But no, she was apparently jsut thinking about something... Nurse Joy walked past the sofas mumbling to herself about a single girl not being a we. "Hello?" Yuki put her stuff down and laid out her shoes. "Hello? Anyone there?" she called to the other girl, "Or are you just contemplating karma and how to reach an everlasting paradise that does not truly exist and for all we know, never has existed?" Question of the day: Will a line from the next post be: "Damn it's cold out there!" "I should think so," replied Yuki. "You aren't wearing any pants..." Or won't it? P.S. I've kind given personalities now... Yuki's the smarter of the two. Not that Mamoru's excessivley dumb, he's smart too... He's just not *STREET* smart...
