When the beam faded, no one remained. Both sides had moved out of sight to avoid whatever trick the other side was trying to pull, and had lost each other as a result. Evil giggling accompanied a black mew into the now abandoned storage room. "You're getting slow, 'Doppler'. Come on, hit me already!" Red glowing eyes peered through the still-smoking hole in the wall. This annoyance had popped up while Doppler was taking a break from studying the ship's structure. Something about the way he spoke called out for vengeance, as if he were questioning Doppler's very identity. "Are you sure you don't remember me? *I* remember *you*...or, at least, the ditto you claim to-" *FWOOM* No more 'as if'.
