"You know what?" Taron said as he and his two companions walked
along the streets of Vermillion City. "I think I'm going to go fishing
today." Procyon turned to look at him. "If you're hungry they got
restaurants around here...." Taron shook his head and held up his hands.
"No no, I mean for pokemon. I could really use a water type for my
team." Suik nodded. "Right, I think you can rent fishing poles around
here somewhere." He pulled a map out of his pocket. "Yeah, right down
this way." Suik lead them down the twisting winding roads of Vermillion
city. After about a half an hour of walking: "Okay, we're here." He said
triumphantly. He looked up to see, a dead end to a back alleyway. "Uh,
not to be picky or anything Suik, but where exactly are we?" Procyon
said. Suik looked at the map again, "Well, this is where it should
be....." Procyon glanced at the map, Sweatdropped, then turned it
rightside up. "Oh." Suik said embarassed. "Oops." Taron facefaulted.
"D'oh" The trio did a prompt about-face, then began walking in the
After another half-hour of walking......
"Ok now this is DEFINITLY the right spot." Suik said as he
folded the map and put it back in his pocket. He looked up to see, a
pokemart! Taron facefaulted again. "Arrgh! Okay lemme see this thing."
He said, taking the map away from him. "But Taron..." Procyon objected.
"Just shut up a second." Taron snapped. He studied the map for a
moment. He looked up. "Okay, this way." He then proceeded to lead a very
confused Procyon and Suik, off in a Southwesterly direction.
They were there within moments.
"Taron, how exactly did you do that?" Procyon asked in an awed
Procyon pushed open the door to the place and walked inside, the
other two followed him in. "Ahoy there mateys! What can Captain Pete do
for ye today?"
"Well for starters, Long John Silver called, he wants his accent back"
Taron muttered, Procyon elbowed him in the ribs. "We'd like to rent
three fishing poles." "Yarr." 'Captain Pete' stepped into the back room
for a moment and returned with the three poles. He handed them to
Procyon. They quickly paid then turned to leave.
"Well this is easily the most exciting sport I've ever seen."
Suik said as he watched the bobber float in the water a few yards out.
Taron, on the other hand, was actually enjoying himself. "I love
fishing, it's just so... peaceful." Suik turned to stare at the blind
trainer. "Lemme guess, you and your dad used to go fishing every
"Not hardly." Taron said darkly. Taron felt a tug on his pole,
"Hey I got a bite." He began reeling in on his line, just when he
thought he was about to get it to shore, the thing, wahtever it was, got
a second wind and nearly dragged him into the ocean. Taron grabbed the
line and began to drag it in, as he dragged it in Procyon would wind it
up so it wouldn't get all tangled up.
"Heave HO!" Taron yelled as he gave one final pull. He fell
backward into the sand. He quickly got up and dusted himself off. "Well
did I get it to shore?" He asked.
"What is it?"
"A Gyarados." Procyon said calmly.
"WHAT?? RUN!" Taron turned around to run, but Procyon grabbed
him by the collar of his shirt.
"Dude, relax I was only kidding." Procyon said as he let go of
"Well, then what is it. For real this time." Taron said, only
Suik sat down to watch the battle, Procyon followed his lead. Taron,
meanwhile squared off with the Seel. "Ok bud, I don't particularly know
where you came from, how you got all the way up here, but I don't care,
you're about to be mine. Enjoy your last moments of freedom. Go,
Pierre!" "Fwee fwee." "Quick, Pierre charge it up." The butterfree
nodded it's head. then just sort of floated there. "Seeeel." It growled
at Pierre. Pierre looked frightened for a moment, then shook it off.
"FWEEEE!" It cried as a beam of bright white light shot out of it and
hit the Seel, dead center. For a moment it looked like it hurt the Seel
a lot, but it shook it off and got ready for more. It shot a stream of
water from it's mouth, which missed. But just barely.
"Pierre, use a Confusion attack." The air around Pierre
seemed to ripple for a moment. The Seel lurched back like it had been
hit. Shook it's head, then looked around. It launched cloud of mist
from it's mouth, which blocked Pierre's vison.
"Okay one more confusion attack oughtta do it." Pierre nodded
and repeated the actions it had used before.
"Pokeball, go!" Taron launched the red and white orb towards his
opponent it shook,
"Who's that pokemon?"

The red light blinked out. Pierre floated over, picked up the pokeball,
floated back and handed it to his trainer. Taron held it high. "Yesss! I
caught a Seel!" He attached it to his belt. "Okay, this trip was worth
it." He let it out of it's pokeball.
"Well, Procyon. What do you think?" Procyon flipped open his pro-dex
and wrote the entry for it. Taron took out his own Pokedex. "Identify"
"Seel, #86, uses it's horn to bash through thick ice. Level
