One would probably notice if a 14 year old was hanging outside a window by a
white rope. Likewise, one would expect to notice a woman leap from the water
onto a cruise ship. When these things happen side-by-side, one would think
both things wouldn't go unnoticed.
Apparently, they were. While Chet was thinking of a way to get out of his
predicament, he failed to notice Hotaru leap up on deck. Apparently, Hotaru
also failed to notice Chet. Hotaru did notice a Meowth looking over board
and nervously flipping coins.
"Poor kitty," Hotaru said to it softly. (I assumed she would. I hope you
don't mind) "Are you looking for your trainer?"
Down below, Chet came to the conclusion that he would have to climb up onto
the deck. For a normal human, climbing up the side of a cruise ship would be
next to impossible. For a mutant like Chet, it wouldn't be so hard.
Chet shot a thick strand of spider-silk from his wrist. It stuck to the
gaurdrail and Chet started to pull himself up. Chance the Meowth saw him do
this and tried to help pull him up. Hotaru, just now noticing the boy
hanging over the side, followed suit. Soon, Chet was able to climb back on
board.
"How did you end up down there?" Hotaru asked.
"Long story," said Chet. Judging by the TV shows he's seen, few people care
to hear a long story. He quickly changed the subject.
"By the way, I'm Chet," he introduced himself. "And this is Chance."
To be continued...
