From: Andrusi (andyvvv@aol.comagnemite) Subject: [PW!] The Bomb Ball Bashers Finally Reach Pewter Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000/05/23 [POTPW!: Andy Renev and Enimuram Yortsed, the Bomb Ball Bashers, emerged from a time warp. Not having any idea how far they had traveled, they walked in the general direction of Pewter City, hoping there would still be a city when they arrived. Along the way, they encountered Ted Brotlov, who used Hypnos to give them both the IQ level of Ash Ketchum; however, they also inherited his near-invincibility and Brotlov was forced to change them back. Now, they finally reach Pewter City...] Andy and Enimuram arrived in Pewter City (much to their relief, it still existed) fairly quickly. Sure, near the city limits they'd been attacked by a very small Voltorb, but Andy had dealt with it quickly. [OOC: The "Voltorb" was PK Ball, who later was attacked by a wild Diglett.] Now it was time to figure out how much time had passed. Andy ran into the Pokémon Center--followed distantly by Enimuram, who was in something less of a hurry--and immediately asked the nurse, "What's today's date?" "May 22nd," Nurse Joy replied. "Say, haven't I seen you somewhere before?" "Probably," Andy said as Enimuram finally caught up with his no-longer-hurried partner. "This is my second time through here. We, uh, need our Pokémon healed." "Well, okay," Joy said as she took the Pokéballs. "So, are you two here to face Brock?" "No," the Bomb Ball Bashers said simultaneously. "...Oh." Joy sighed. She had spent weeks memorizing a speech containing Brock-battling tips, but nobody seemed to need the advice. "So, what brings you here, then?" "We're just passing through," Enimuram pointed out. "Also, there's something weird going on with our Magnemites," Andy added. "Well, good luck doing whatever it is you're doing. But why don't you stay here for the night? I'm sure you two must be tired, and anyway it's late. Plus, if there really is something strange happening to your Magnemites, it might take a while to determine what that is." "Well..." Enimuram looked at Andy. Andy nodded. "Okay." Later that night, Enimuram and Andy met in Enimuram's room to discuss top secret information. "E-102 would kick Mega Man's butt!" "Are you kidding? Mega Man could turn that dude into scrap metal with one shot!" Eventually, they actually did discuss something related to the plot. "So, what now?" "To the Power Plant!!" "Umm... there's a river in the way." "So?" "So we'll need to cross." "No problem. I'll have my Abra use Teleport." "Too wide." "Umm..." "You have a Vaporeon, right?" "Right. His name's Osiris." "Whatever. Vapo--er, Osiris and my Tentacool should be able to Surf us across." "But Osiris doesn't know Surf." "He'll inexplicably start knowing it at some random point, probably in Fuschia City." "FUSCHIA CITY?!" "Hey, you! Quiet down." "Sorry. Yes, Andy, Fuschia City." "Why the geable are we going to Fuschia City?" "To get a Soulbadge." "And we want that because...?" "Without a Soulbadge, it's illegal to use Surf to cross bodies of water." "Oh. So when we go to Fuschia City, we can get a Soulbadge." "And when we get a Soulbadge, we can go to the Power Plant." "And when we get to the Power Plant, we can kill Voltorbs and Electrodes, right?" "Right." "We need a name." The two paused. "The Anti-Electrode Crew?" Andy suggested. "Naah, it's been done. Maybe... Clan Magnemite?" "Um, no. How about The Barely WG'ed Piece of Crap?" "Too negative. Sounds like we're bashing ourselves." A pause. "Bomb Ball Bashers!" TBC So, now that the Bomb Ball Bashers know their name, we should be seeing a lot more action, right? Right? No? Darn. -Andy &&
