From: Jolly Trolly (chaceplace@worldnet.att.net) Subject: [PW!] the pokecenter Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2000/07/31 Hooray! My first pokewars story! I'm quite proud of it. :Þ Although It probably sucks, I like it so poo. "Phantom, I choose you!" A bright yellow flash flew out of the orange and yellow pokeball. The flash formed into a brown type of mist, or vapor. "Gaast." The mist spoke. "And, that's a Pokemon?" the girl asked it's owner. "Why, of course it's a Pokemon, what else would it be?" the owner replied, kind of confused by the reply. He was more used to the "oohs" and "aahs" of the chicks that walked into the PokeCenter. "Look closer at it." The girl focused, and the blurry fog mass in front of her started to form together, and soon she saw eyes and a mouth. "Wooow." She said, stunned by the new breed. The owner was much more satisfied with this. "Well, can you please direct me to a Nurse Joy at this time, I would like to heal my Pokemon quickly so I can head out and try for a badge against Brock." "Oh sure. The Nurse here is out on vacation this week, I'm handling all healing responsibilities for her. My name's Pat Chace, nice to meet you," the owner of the ghost pokemon said to her as he opened up the pokeball, which the Gastly reluctantly entered. "OK, here are my pokeballs," the girl said as she pulled out three of them from her tote bag. "Nice to meet you my name's Meghan." Patrick didn't reply for a moment since he was busy trying to figure out how to work with the computer. He randomly pressed buttons hoping for a miracle. The computer started to smoke and Patrick pressed the buttons more rapidly. "Is everything all right?" Meghan asked, worried for her pokemon. "Uhh, yep, everything is routine. The damn machine does this sometimes, you just need to give it a little KICK every NOW and THEN," he said nervously, accenting his words as he kicked the computer's base. The computer started to shake violently, and the pokeballs opened and pokemon flew all over the Center. A Jigglypuff bounced off of the wall and landed safely on top of the branches of a fern tree by the doorway. A Sandshrew landed in the middle of the floor, where it scurried underneath a couch and curled up into a ball. The third, a Nidorino, obviously frightened, landed on the floor and bounced up and down, spurting it's poison out of it's horn all over waiting customers. The PokeCenter was a mess. "What is this!" shouted a man as he ran through the door. The man was wearing a black trenchcoat with black boats. "Patrick, what's all this about!? And why are YOU behind that counter!?" The man demanded. Patrick knew this man, as did Meghan, he was Phantom, a respected aide of Professor Oak that lived in Pewter City assissting with the meusem and Poke Center. Phantom had no last name, nor did he need one. He shed the coat and boats and dived across the counter, where he quickly unplugged the computer, which stopped the noise and smoke. "Patrick, go back to the lab, we'll address this later. As for you miss, are these your pokemon?" he demanded. "Y-y-yes, sir," Meghan stuttered. "Well I suggest that you collect them into their Pokeballs and head out," he barked. "Yes sir, I will," she said, quite disappointed that she had finaly met the great scientist Phantom and he was pissed at her. Reluctantly, she recalled her three Pokemon and walked out into the drizzly morning. As she headed down the road towards a hotel, she was pulled aside by Patrick next to the Center. "Hey, sorry about the mess, but to apologize I thought I'd return these to you, my Gastly had grabbed them from your bag while you weren't paying attention," Pat said sympathetically as he withdrew three necklaces, each with four different colored beads on them. One was blue, one yellow, one red, and one green. "No, that's OK, you keep them, they weren't mine to begin with I found them in Mt. Moon, maybe you will be able to find the owners if they come looking at the PokeCenter." "Thanks," he said, looking down at the ground. "Well, g'bye. I'll se you later," Meghan said as she turned around and headed down the street, without looking back or saying another word. "Damn," Pat whispered, dissapointed that he'd let another hot girl get past him. "Upset?" said a deep voice behind Patrick. It was Phantom. "Listen, Phant, I'm sorry, But -" Pat tried to apologize. "I know I've heard it all before. I'm used to it. Someday you'll learn to control yourself around women. But until then, go back inside and clean up that poison, and they'll I'll show you how to heal pokemon with that machine properly," Phantom smiled. Pat did nothing but smile and walk towards the center. ----------- Okay you probably didn't understand much of that, but it should all get easier to understand as time goes by. Or not.
