OOC: By reason of insanity, I'm hoping that this will go through without
screwed-up margins. I tried to send it through on Deja as test for the
margin problem, but that was 3 hours ago, so it looks like Deja decided to
lose it instead of posting.

Drake carefully detaches the little girl from his leg and lowers himself
until he can look her in the eyes. "I know you want me to go in there to
get that Slowpoke, but give me a minute to think about this. It’s not a
good idea to rush in and confront Sabrina without an important reason."
Copycat blinks for a second and figures out from what was said that the
Dragonite might not do what she asked. She quickly grabs onto his leg
again and starts to cry again.
The Dragonite straightened up again and sighed. "That…didn’t…work."
"He did say I have a beer belly," Drake begins to weigh things out amid
Copycat’s sobbing, "but that could be written of on him being a
Slowpoke. If he comes from Seafoam like most of them, I wouldn’t
imagine that he’s seen many Dragonites before."
"Meeeeeoooowwth! Meow meow ow owth me. " Memuyo chimed in.
"I guess that leaves the basic choice. Go in and talk to Sabrina, or not
and listen to a crying child and get shot at with an unlimited number of
icebeams when I go to Seafoam to try to get a Slowpoke there." Drake
didn’t need to weigh that one for too long. "I guess I’m going in to talk
to Sabrina."
Copycat looked up after hearing something close to what she wanted to
hear. Drake bent down to talk to her again, telling her "You can stop
worrying now, I’m going in to talk to Sabrina about getting your
Slowpoke back."
Her eyes grow wide and she says "Thank you, Mr. big cutie Pokemon!".
She then hugs him around his long neck.
After she lets go he straightens up again and attempts to maintain a
bearing of dignity by complaining "Why can’t anybody here call me by
my name?" He then proceeds to the door with Memuyo padding along
beside him.
Once inside Sabrina’s chamber, Drake spots the receptionist from before
as she bows her head to Sabrina. As the woman moves away Luthor is
visible on the floor in front of Sabrina. The receptionist then quickly
exits the chamber without even pausing to acknowledge the Dragonite
standing at the doorway.
"Luthor does not need to do that. It is a waste of Luthor’s unfathomable
power!" The talking Slowpoke was looking at Sabrina as he said this.
To the other in the chamber it appeared that he was responding out loud
to something that could not be heard by non-psychics.
"Excuse me." In response to Drake’s interruption, Sabrina’s eyes fixed
on him. When she didn’t say anything after a few seconds, he decided
that her stare was probably the only response he was going to get to his
presence until he did something else.
"I was asked to retrieve the talking Slowpoke now at your feet. I’m not
sure what…" The Dragonite is cut off as part of first sentence is finally
processed.
"Luthor is not just the talking Slowpoke. Luthor is the greatest power in
the Universe and will be referred to with the proper name!"
Drake sweatdrops. "Uh, okaaayy, anyway, I was asked to retrieve
Luthor." The dragon pokemon inclines his head towards the Slowpoke
in acknowledgment figuring that that should help to satisfy the
Slowpoke’s ego and keep him from interrupting. "I’m not sure what you
might want in order to release him to me. I’m a little deprived of the
proper resources at the moment, so I can’t make any of the usual offers.
Is there anything that you are interested in at the moment that could
convince you to release him to me?"
Drake hadn’t bothered to explain to her what being deprived of resources
meant, but he figured she should know that sort of thing by now. If not,
he figured that she would probably read his mind and find that he had
almost no money and none of the pokemon with him were really strong
enough for a battle, with the exception of him.
At this point, the dragon pokemon was figuring that Sabrina could learn
any of what he meant by scanning his mind. Considering how much she
could learn by scanning his mind, he figured that both he and the
Slowpoke, er … Luthor, were not in a good position.
