Taron floated in gravity less black void that recognised as his
sub-concious. He expected a dark purple haunter to appear at any moment.
After all, this was his "realm" as it were.
But it never came. Taron waited for a long time. Finally he
sighed. "Nova, get on with it already, I'm sick of waiting." He called
into the darkness. A voice answered him.
"Easy Darkeyes. No nightmares tonight." Taron froze, his heart
stopped, then started going a mile a minute. He knew that voice. Only
two people had ever called him Darkeyes.
Out of the mists that surrounded him, she stepped. She was
about a few inches shorter than he. She had long blond hair and emerald
green eyes. She wore tight blue jeans that were a few inches to short,
a white T-Shirt and round sunglasses. Taron just stared at her. She
stepped aside and Taron saw another person follow her out of the mists.
The other person who had ever called him Darkeyes. He wore black jean
shorts that went past his knees, a green No Fear T-Shirt, and a black
jean jacket. He had black hair and blue eyes. He had a dyed silver
stripe through his hair, starting at his forehead and ending at the back
of his head. He was spinning a pair of sunglasses around his finger.
"Hey Taron. How's it going?" The man asked smirking.
"Sophie? Jason? Is that really you?" Taron asked dumbfounded.
Jason smirked.
"Truthfully? No. The two of us are just.... messangers." Jason
said grinning.
"Figments of your dreams." Sophie added winking at him.
"Huh?" Taron said staring at the two of them.
"We're here to tell you how to beat Sabrina." Sophie said.
"How?"
"Weak Points" Jason said as he brushed his bangs out of his
eyes. Taron fixed them both with a skeptical stare. He pondered that for
a moment.
"What are you? Nuts? Psychics don't have any weaknesses that are
of any use to me." Taron laughed.
"Type weaknesses no, but physical weakness, yes."
Taron shot another skeptical stare their way. "So what am I
supposed to do?"
Jason fixed him with a serious stare. "You need to learn each of
her pokemon's weak points." He nodded to Sophie, and suddenly Taron was
sitting in a chair. There was a big projection screen in front of him,
projected on this screen was a picture of Sabrina, a debilitating glare
in her eyes. Sophie stood beside the projection screen with a pointer
in her hands.
"Okay, Taron first, this is the enemy, Gym leader Sabrina, most
powerful psychic in the world. Your mission, should you choose to accept
it, is to learn each of her pokemon's individual weaknesses." She
nodded to Jason, "Next slide please."
CLICK
"Okay now this is..." She paused to stare at Taron, who had a
big idiot grin on his face. "What the heck is wrong with you?" She
asked. She turned around to see a picture of herself, in a very
revealing cheerleading uniform she wore back when they were still in
school.
"Jason! How did that get in here!?" Sophie yelled. No response.
She slowly turned around to see his eyes were glazed over and a matching
big idiot grin on his face. She stormed over to where he was standing
behind the projector, slowly raised the pointer over her head and......
WHACK!!!!!
She calmly walked back to stand in front of the screen. She
tossed the broken pointer off to the side with a big sheepish grin on
her face. "Ahem, Jason if you don't mind?" Jason grudgingly changed the
slide, rubbing a golf ball sized lump on his head.
"I didn't see anything wrong with it..." He muttered darkly.
"That's not why we're here you horny idiot. Now come on Taron.
PAY ATTENTION!" She smacked him lightly on the side of his head. She
turned back to the projector. "Now these are Sabrina's pokemon,
Kadabra, Alakazam, Exeggutor, Slowbro, Mr.Mime, Hypno. We'll go over
every one of them, their strengths, and their potential weak points. "
She nodded to Jason
CLICK
"Okay, first we have a Mr. Mime. Okay Mime's special moves are
Barrier and Light Screen. The reason it has these two moves is because
it's bone structure is extremely weak everywhere on it's body, except
it's hands and arms. It is partcularly weak in the legs. Nail it right
in the knees, and it will go down instantly. Next..."
CLICK
"....We have Kadabra, Alakazam and Hypno. These three pokemon
all have one thing in common. Can you tell me what it is Taron?"
Taron blinked at here. "You know you sound alot like Professor
Jameson when you talk like that?" Jason snickered. Sophie glared at him.
"Just answer the stupid question Darkeyes."
Taron grinned. "Sure whatever you say Soph, their common ground
is that they're all psychic type pokemon." Sophie facefaulted.
"I mean BESIDES that you dolt!" She screeched.
Taron held up his hands. "Okay okay geez, chill. They each have
an object that they carry. These objects, the pendulums, the spoons,
help them focus their energy. If they were to lose these objects, their
psychic potential would be weakened to the level of their previous
evolutionary form. Weaker actually since their minds are calibrated for
the assistance of the objects."
Sophie blinked at him and shot him a confused look. "How did you
know that?"
"I had to do a report on it for professor Jameson my second
year, remember?"
"Oh yeah."
CLICK
"Okay, Slowbro, Starmie, and Exeggutor. Each of these have a
secondary type that you can exploit. However, if, for some reason, you
can't they each have points on their bodies that if struck with
sufficient pressure will have them seeing stars. Starmie's weak point
is, obviously, it's jewel, if you can manage to crack it, it will be
severly weakened. If you shatter it it will faint. Slowbro's weak point
is on the tip of it's nose. It has an internal compass there, if you hit
it on the nose it will disorient it for a few moments, that will be the
time to strike. if you play a special song around an Exeggutor, it will
cause it to rotate it's head around it's body counter-clockwise. This
will distrupt it's visual cortex, that will be the time to act." She
paused for a moment, a quick paced song reverberated around the area, it
then repeated itself. Taron memorized it.
The chair, the projector, the screen all dissappeared, leaving
the three of them alone in the void. "Well Taron, it's all up to you
now." Sophie said hugging him. Jason smacked him on the back.
"Go show Sabrina a thing or two about training pokemon!" With
that the two of them turned around and walked through the mists.
"Thanks guys."
The next morning Taron awoke with a big grin on his face. He HAD
it, he knew how he was going to win.
"Ready?" Procyon asked him.
"Oh yeah. This badge is mine." He replied.
The two of them walked up to the Saffron City gym, (Suik had
decided to stay behind.) Taron pulled the gym doors open slowly.
*Hello again Taron.* Sabrina said silently as they entered the
arena. She sent him an image of her, sitting atop her throne looking as
stern as ever.
"How many pokemon?" Taron said grinning at her.
"Two each should suffice." Taron nodded and waited. Sabrina
floated a pokeball over to the side of the arena where it cracked open
and released an Slowbro.
"Slow....." It said grinning dopey-like
"Go Pierre!!!" Taron shouted releasing his butterfree
"Fwee!!"
"Slowbro, Water Gun!" Sabrina said clamly. She actually said
the attack she was using. this surprised Taron.
"Pierre Tackle, hit it on the nose!" Pierre floated there
confused. Why hadn't the Slowbro attacked? It seemed to shrug, it
stooped into a dive streaking forward, aiming for the tip of it's
opponent's nose.
Just as the five second mental delay that is inherent in all
slowbros ended. Suddenly Pierre got a faceful of water. Enough to propel
it backwards. It shook it off and floated waiting for it's next
command.
"Try again, only don't wait so long." Pierre nodded and stooped
into a dive. Just as Sabrina shouted "Confusion" But with the five
second delay it struck easily and winged away before Slowbro struck.
No one noticed the near invisible smirk on Sabrina's face
"Pierre charge up a Solarbeam!" Pierre nodded and began
collecting sunlight
"Psychic attack!" Sabrina said. Instantly a blast of pure energy
went streaking from the slowbro. It struck Pierre and left him dazed.
"What?" Sabrina's cruel smiled widened
"You just disabled the five second mental block Darkeyes."
What? How did she....?
Taron snarled. "You sent me that dream didn't you?" Sabrina
nodded.
"Pierre SOLARBEAM!" Taron shouted. Pierre let loose a screaming
bolt of sunlight. Slowbro dodged it, but it was so horribly aimed that
it would have missed even if he had stood still. Procyon and Sabrina
were both wondering what had possesed Pierre to aim so badly, when the
bolt of energy streaked towards an ornately decorated mirror to the left
and behind Sabrina's throne. As Procyon watched the mirror seemed to
move, angling itself towards the confused slowbro. It struck and
reflected and went streaking once again towards the unwary slowbro.
It didn't even have time to think about dodging. it toppled over
defeated. Sabrina recalled it wordlessly, just as a Sandshrew's head
peeked around the frame of the humongous
mirror. It stuck it's tongue out at Sabrina. Sabrina floated another
pokeball out onto the arena. It broke open, releasing a Kadabra
"Kadabra!"
"Go Talon!" He pitched the ball onto the arena floor.
"FEAROW!" Talon shouted as he flapped his wings above the arena
floor.
"Psybeam." Sabrina called.
"Fly!" He called. Talon flew into the air narrowly avoiding the
rainbow colored beam of light that was arching it's way towards him. He
circled the ceiling waiting for the right moment.
He waited quite a long time. Finally with an ear splitting
shriek he dove. "Wait Talon don't!"
"Teleport!"
The Kadabra faded from view just as Talon was about to collide
with it. It pulled up just in time to avoid colliding with the wall. As
Talon labored for altitude Kadabra reappeared in the exact same spot.
Talon resumed circling the ceiling.
"Enough! Psychic attack!" Sabrina shouted.
"Talon now!" Taron called. Talon swooped down as Kadabra began
gathering energy and collided with it. It knocked it over and flew back
to his side of the floor, Kadabra's spoon clutched tightly in it's beak.
It landed on the floor, tilted it's head back and in a flash the spoon
dissapeared down it's long neck. Kadabra's psychic energy discharged
harmlessly.
"No! You fool!" Sabrina shouted.
"Oookay I didn't know he was going to do that...." Taron
muttered an amused smirk on his face.
Sabrina was not amused.
"Do you even realize what you and your stupid vulture just
DID?!!?" She shrieked. "You have permanently weakened my Kadabra, even
after it evolves it will still only have one spoon, and a mind made for
two. You will pay DEARLY for that." Her eyes began to glow a firey red
and an aura of shadow enveloped her.
Taron focused and then the aura-sight was in his eyes. His eyes
glowed white behind his shades. (not enough for anyone else to notice
though.) He stared at Sabrina's aura and realized she was indeed pissed.
Her aura was blood red, veined with black. Not good.
She stood and stuck out her hand. Taron saw a tendril of energy
snake out of her fingers and worm it's way towards him. He backed away.
But it kept coming after him. Taron's hand shot out, futily trying to
fend off the assault. His other hand shot towards his belt. But still it
came.
Taron plucked his remaining three pokeballs off his belt and
flung them to the ground. It was a desperation move that turned out to
be his salvation. From those three pokeballs emerged a Seel a Tauros
and a Butterfree. Rampage on his right and Borealis on his left,
launched an Aurora Beam and a Hyper Beam respectively. A moment later
Pierre added his Solarbeam in. The three attacks combined and collided
with Sabrina's attack, holding it at bay while Procyon dragged Taron out
of the way.
Talon charged Sabrina's Kadabra, hoping that fainting it would
distract her from her assault.
It didn't work.
However Tumbleweed launched itself directly at Sabrina. He
landed on her face and knocked her over, breaking her concentration.
With nothing to hold them back Taron's pokemon's attacks went streaking
forward leaving two burn marks and a large piece of frost on the wall.
Sabrina flung Tumbleweed away he landed at Taron's feet. In a
rage she teleported Her Kadabra and Herself out of the room, leaving
them there.
Procyon helped Taron to his feet. "You okay man?" He asked.
Taron nodded. He could tell by procyon's gray aura that he was
totally worn out. Adrenaline afterburn. "Yeah, I'm alright. But I didn't
get my Marshbadge, which means I have to face that psychopath AGAIN."
Tumbleweed pulled itself to it's feet and tugged on Taron's
shirt. "Sand."
Taron shut off his aura-sight as it was slowly wearing him out.
"What is it Tumbleweed?" He asked. The Sandshrew pressed a small round
piece of metal into his hand, a Marshbadge.
Taron laughed. "You little theif." He grinned and patted his
head.
"FEAROW!" Talon cried urgently Taron and Procyon rushed over to
see what the problem was. Procyon gasped.
"What? What is it?" Taron asked.
"Taron, Pierre, I think he's...." Taron knelt down and touched
Pierre's limp body. He again activated his aura-sight. He looked at
Pierre, there was no aura, none.
Pierre was dead.
Wordlessly, Taron lifted Pierre's body and carried him outside
of the gym, outside of the city and into a field nearby. Tumbleweed dug
a hole. Two feet deep, three feet long and two feet wide. Taron
carefully laid Pierre's body into it. He stood there staring at the
body silently. Procyon stood next to him. Finally Taron spoke, in a
barely audible whisper.
"Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust."
