From: Nick -New and Improved- (ncnc123@aol.com-see-sig) Subject: [PW!] Arrival in a Whole New World! Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2001-04-03 18:02:03 PST [NS] In my last story, I kept writing Viridian City instead of Vermillion City for the City Hito was currently in. As I've said above, she was in Vermillion City. [/NS] Previously, Hito was wandering around Kanto aimlessly. She had too many memories. In Vermillion, she got on a ship, with Lokon, embarking to an unknown location. Meanwhile, everyone's* favorite murdering, love obsessed nut escaped from jail. (* Your views may differ from what I define as "everyone," which would be your equivalent of "no one's.") ------------------- The ship had docked in a strange city. The tall buildings towering high into the sky didn't seem familiar. To Hito, they seemed even... foreign. Where could she be? They had departed from Vermillion. They wouldn't be there. That, and the fact that she would recognize it if they had returned to the same city. It wasn't Viridian. She would recognize her own hometown. Not Cinnabar; she had visited her cousin there plenty of times. She'd been to Pewter and Pallet, and Saffron didn't have any waters. There was no place for the ship to dock. Lavender. Fuchsia. Celadon. She'd visited all of these places. Lavender with her parents. Fuchsia when she... met Shock. Celadon when she had told Forest's grandparents that he had passed away. Where could she be? In Cerulean? The last time she had been there, with her mother, she had been too young to remember what it really looked like. So this could be Cerulean. But could she be sure? Not unless she asked. What she should have done in the first place. Up ahead of her was a young boy. Maybe around age seven or so. His brown hair was cut short, revealing his wide green eyes as Hito approached him. He was sitting on the ground playing with a Caterpie doll. The doll itself looked ragged. Many of the seams had burst, white stuffing poking out through the holes in clumps. "Uh... Excuse me," she said, tapping the young boy on the shoulder. "Could you tell me what city this is?" The boy slowly focused his eyes on her. They seemed vacant. Distant. Hito felt as if they were looking through her. She might have thought that the boy didn't notice her, until he let out a small giggle with his mouth. "E-he-he-he... I got in trouble for playing in the basement of the Dept. Store," he replied before walking aimlessly away from her. He came to a stop a few feet away, and began playing with his doll again. Hito waited a moment, hoping the boy would answer her question, but he didn't. Signing, Hito drew her eyes away from the boy, and focused on a sign. She couldn't make all of it out, but she did make out the word "City" on it. Hoping to have the answer to her question that the boy had so _politely_ answered, Hito walked closer to the sign until she could read it all clearly. The sign did answer her question. It read: GOLDENROD CITY The Festive City of Opulent Charm Goldenrod City? Had she traveled so far from home? It didn't matter, she quickly assured herself. In fact, it was better. Here there would be no painful memories. It was the perfect place for her. Perhaps here, she would get a chance to heal. [NS] Seems most people are in Johto.[/NS]
