[PW!][BBB] Here We Go Again
[OOC: 10 BBB points go to the observant reader (besides EYNH, NewHaights, or
myself) who figures out why the title fits the story.]
Andy looked around. "Enimuram, are you sure this is the right way? I'm
fairly sure the Power Plant is to the east of Cerulean..."
"But we're not GOING to the Power Plant yet, remember?" Enimuram sighed,
frustrated. "First we're going to Olivine City."
"Oh, right--OLIVINE? I thought we were going to Fuschia City!!!" Andy
roared.
Wild PIDGEY, MEOWTH, and ODDISH ran away scared!
"Yes, we're going to Fuschia," Enimuram replied calmly. "But since we have
to go through Saffron to get there, and the Magnet Train is RIGHT THERE, I
figured we'd make a quick side trip."
"Why?!" Andy shouted.
"Olivine City Gym."
Andy blinked. "Huh?"
"The leader is Jasmine. She trains Steel-type Pokémon."
The two trainers reached Saffron City around this point. "So?"
"So have you checked the Bomb Ball Basher type charts lately?"
Andy put two and two together... and got seven. "You want to have Jasmine
update the type charts?"
Enimuram was now officially annoyed with his partner's amazing ability to
completely miss the pointl. His face turned a very bright red. He quietly
counted to ten, took a deep breath, and turned to Andy. "She uses Magnemites,
genius."
"Oh."
"C'mon, you didn't expect to defeat all the Voltorbs at the Power Plant with
just the Pokémon we have, did you? David's never even been in a battle,
Flareon's attacks might hurt the Magnemites around there, and Osiris, Flicky,
and Tentacool are weak to electric attacks. Electron and Magnemite may be
tough, but they can't take on that many Pokémon alone."
Andy finally got it. "So you're saying you want to get her to help us?
Enimuram was elated. Andy DID have a brain. "YES! Think about it. People
say she's the nicest person in the world and she'll do anything to help anyone.
I mean, she helped an Ampharos, for Magnallah's sake. If she can put up with
one of those things, you KNOW she'll be willing to back up a couple of fellow
magnet trainers."
"Good point. Well, there's the train station. Recall Magnemite. I don't
think you're allowed to have Magnemites out in there, it slows down the train
or something. Oh well. Let's get our passes and hop on."
---
About an hour later (there wa a long line), the Bashers exited into the
Goldenrod City station. The Bashers hung around a while after the other
passengers had departed; soon, they were the only ones left in the terminal, as
the train had sped off back to Saffron and the conductor was on a coffee break.
"So, which way is Olivine?" Andy asked.
"Um... I don't know," Enimuram responded. He looked at a map on the wall.
"Northwest. We go north from here."
"Okay." Andy looked out the window and noted the position of the sun, then
checked the clock on the wall. While he worked on determining the correct
direction, he noticed a Voltorb under a bench. "Hey, Enimuram," he whispered.
"Look."
Enimuram looked. "Eh, it's just a Voltorb. No need to do anything, it looks
too low-level to explode or anything. Can't hurt anyone, really."
The Voltorb looked offended. "Volt," it said as it selfdestructed.
"Um... I guess I was wrong," Enimuram said. "Well, it didn't cause a
problem. The bench is still intact."
A very large number of Electrodes suddenly appeared from seemingly nowhere.
They all looked at the two Bomb Ball Bashers, then focused their gazes on Andy.
"Enimuram?" Andy said nervously. "I don't think this is good. In fact I
think this might be a good time to leave."
Enimuram looked around. "Yeah."
The Electrodes rolled back slightly. "TRODE!!!" Then they proceeded to
begin rolling forward.
Andy looked at Enimuram.
Enimuram looked at Andy.
They started running, screaming at the top of their lungs. The two ran out
the door and up the road, treating the people of Goldenrod City to the sight of
two Magnemite fans being chased by a horde of angry Electrodes.
---
Ted Brotlov looked out the hotel lobby window, bored. Cyclonus and Scourge
were playing poker (Scourge, being unable to hold his cards out of Cyclonus's
view, was currently in debt by a sum of several million dollars), the Voltorbs
and Hypnos were in their Pokéballs, and Ted himself was bored. Until he
noticed the Bomb Ball Bashers and the mass of Electrodes running past the door.
Ted stared for a few seconds, then shrugged. He recalled Scourge, then
turned to Cyclonus. "Come on," he said.
Cyclonus started to complain, the realized it would be pointless. The two
walked out the door, and started running behind the Electrodes. In other
words, business as usual.

[Author's note: Don't worry, I'm not planning to do something stupid like have
Jasmine join BBB or anything. In other words, obey that Hitchiker's Guide to
the Galaxy and DON'T PANIC.]
