Sarah drops her shaking Mareep onto the muddy ground, thinking that her
current jittering would stop if she wasn't holding onto her, but it
doesn't. She continues to tremble as she tries to gather her thoughts.
She doesn't know what a Dragonite is, but she figures out that it
must've been what she was flying on moments ago, before it was shocked
out of the sky. The shepherdess looks around, but doesn't see the
creature anywhere. She comes to the conclusion that he has gone
underwater. Right after the fisherman asks "Miss?", Sarah points at the
water and these words manage to escape her trembling lips, "Fish! Fish
him... out!"
"Now, holdonaminute, miss." The fisherman shows Sarah his thin fishing
pole the even thinner line attached to the end of it, "Sure, I may be a
great fisherman - I even caught a Pokemon that was holding Mystic Water
once, but I really don't think I'm gonna be able to use this pole to
fish a Dragonite outta..."
"Please! Do it! Hurry!" Sarah nervously commands the stranger to fish,
not wanting the Dragonite to drown. She has no idea how a Smeargle
managed to turn into a giant rock snake and then into a dragon-like
creature, but she does know that it was nice enough to bring her here,
so she wasn't going to let it drown, "PLEASE!"
The fisherman looks at Sarah up and down, notices that her long beige
skirt and sandals caked in mud, looks at her pleading hazel-colored
eyes, then sighs, "Oh, all right. I'll try. I'll use the lure fishermen
use when they go hunting for Gyarados." He reaches into his tackle box
and pulls out a large round red-and-white lure. After attaching it to
the end of his fishing pole's line, he hurls it into the water and waits
for the Dragonite to bite.
Sarah clasps her hands and Barbie's trembling slows down as curiosity
leads her eyes over the edge of the muddy rock she's standing on.
Everyone waits...
The fisherman starts to shake, much like Sarah was doing moments ago,
but he's doing it because something has grabbed onto his lure. He tugs
and pulls at the line, until a large splash signals that a Pokemon has
been pulled out of the water! It's not a Dragonite, though. Sarah
inquisitively asks, "Who's that Pokemon?"
Mimic opens his eyes after being pulled out of the water. He looks at
himself and notices that the form he's in is one he hasn't been in for a
while...
"It's... Ditto?" The fisherman looks confused as he lowers the small,
tired-looking purple blob onto solid ground, "And I thought catching a
Rock-type Corsola was weird. Ditto isn't even a Water Pokemon, which
would explain why he looks so exhausted. I wonder why he didn't
Transform into one when he hit the water."
Mimic coughs, then attempts to Transform into the fisherman who was just
speaking, but finds himself unable to do so, "Mimic know why. Mimic out
of PP."
Sarah crouches down to get a closer look at the Ditto near her feet, "I
don't... I don't get it. What does urine gotta do with bein' able to
Transform?"
Mimic stares at Sarah with his small eyes, realizing how little this
girl must know about Pokemon, "Mimic explain later. Need Pokemon Center.
Please take."
"Do you know where I can find a Pokemon Center?" Sarah looks up to the
fisherman who was kind enough to fish Mimic out of the water.
The fisherman nods, then points to the buildings east of where they are,
"You have to swim across the water, though. Do any of your Pokemon know
how to Surf?"
Sarah looks at Barbie and the sheep very emphatically shakes her head,
bleating, "Ree!"
"Okay, then I'll get that Corsola I was talking about earlier to escort
your Mareep over to the other side." The fisherman whistles and a
beautiful Corsola emerges from underneath the waves, "Since she's part
Rock, it won't hurt her too much if your Pokemon gets worried and tries
to use an Electric attack. As for you, well, as long as you can swim, I
suggest you do just that - it would help clean the mud off your clothes.
You can get them dry-cleaned at the Pokemon Center, where I think you
should stay for the night, 'cuz it's getting pretty late." The fisherman
tosses his fishing line back into the water, "Back to fishing for me,
then."
After placing Barbie on top of the Corsola, Sarah picks up Mimic and
puts him on top of her head, where he grabs on tight with his
pseudopods. She thanks the fisherman, then slowly sinks into the water,
making sure to keep her head above sea level so Mimic doesn't drown.
Sarah swims over to the shore of Cherrygrove City, followed by a Corsola
who is squinting in mild pain due to her passenger's tendency to release
small electric shocks when nervous. Once a wet Sarah climbs onto the
grassy land of Cherrygrove City, she plucks her Mareep off the
fisherman's Corsola's back and says, "Thank you too, Corsola!"
The coral Pokemon smiles and sinks back down into the water.
"Okay, where's the Pokemon Center?" Sarah asks out loud after removing
Mimic from her head to cradle him in her arms. She isn't expecting a
response to her vocal musing, but she gets one anyway, issued by an old
man standing nearby. The old man says, "Do you want a tour of
Cherrygrove City?"
Sarah looks down at the ground again, respecting her elder, "Uh, n-not
really... I just... wanna know where... where the Pokemon Cent-center
is."
"Great! Come with me." The old man grabs one of her arms and pulls her
towards the building that has traditionally been the first stop on his
tour. On the way there, he explains the functions of a Pokemon Center,
but Sarah doesn't pay too close attention since she's making sure that
Barbie doesn't fall behind.
Sarah's also distracted by the squishing noises her sandals are making,
and decides that she should get them cleaned along with her wet wool
shirt and beige skirt. Soon enough, she's standing right before the
place she can get all her clothes cleaned at - the Cherrygrove City
Pokemon Center. "Th-thanks," Sarah tells the old man who brought her
here, then walks inside, holding Mimic in her arms. The Ditto is still
weak from being Thundershocked and from Struggling to stay afloat. Sarah
takes Mimic to the nurse on duty, the first Nurse Joy she's ever seen,
and says, "P-please, ma'am, help. This Ditto... n-needs urine. Can you
help him?"
