With a hiss of steam the massive black bulkhead doors slid open, the
creak of ancient metal against ceramite filling the dark, empty
chamber. As the gates opened, a bright yellow light seeped in between
the rusted bulkheads and illuminated a path into the cavernous room.
"It's been a while."
From all around the room, lights flickered on across the walls,
machinery powered up with a whirr of cooling fans and the clink-clink
of gears. Slowly the lights in the chamber came to life, first one,
then another, and the rest in quick succession like a newborn Spearow
breaking its way past the shell of its egg. As the final fluorescent
tube kicked in, and the last of the silver-black panels comprising the
walls powered up, doors in the room's empty floor slid open to reveal
a lift shaft, and within, the most powerful computing device known to
man.
The Mega-Sound Chair.
A panel in the wall slid open with a whirr of machinery, revealing the
Mega-Sound Laptop unit. The Chair itself rose up from the gaping hole
in the floor, where it was previously protected by sealed metre-thick
layers of adamantium alloy. One component remained, the Headset, which
rested firmly on Novaa Valias "Cat-Gonk" Starr's feline ear. As he
entered the room he took up the Laptop with his right hand and
attached it to the clip on the belt of his power-armour, to the front
of his second boltpistol.
"Finally got this thing working, I see?"
"Not really. The network card was fucked from the start but now that a
power surge baked it, I've got an excuse to get another."
"Heh. You don't have much luck with computers, do you?"

"So, what exactly do you plan to do with this thing?" Beside Cat-Gonk
stood another figure, somewhat stockier and less feline in stature. He
remained outside the chamber, masked by the bright light emanating
from outside.
"Play CS. I'll have it working by the end of the week." Cat-Gonk paced
around the chamber, pressing various buttons on various wall panels.
"Well, I'd better leave you to it. You going to be around for the
tournament?"
"Probably not. I need some time to get my skills up. Have a good one."
The second figure disappeared into the light, leaving Cat-Gonk alone
in the chamber. Sitting across the Mega-Sound Chair but not placing
himself into it, he adjusted the headrest and brushed off the arms
before turning around and lying down onto its polished metal surface.
"Mega-Sound Device. Activate Internet Relay Chat."
------
"Eh."
"Hey CG."
"Yo CG."
"Meeh!"
"hi"
"wb"
"What's happened to the PW these days?"
"People are writing again."
"i don't read pw"
"whats pw?"
"Rob's back."
"It's been revived."
"That Future ruling is still around, right?"
"Yep."
"Yeah."
"Sadly yes. It was a stupid thing to begin with."
"Agreed. Well, I'm going to get back to work on my latest post. I'll
see you guys later."
"bye"
"Seeya"
";_;"
------
"How am I going to go about this one?"
Cat-Gonk lay across a four-poster bed, the silken sheets covering his
bathrobed form. Across the room, the bathroom door was open and the
shower running.
"Felix I can just mess around with, hey, it'll make the plot more
interesting, but Night Shade..."
------
Guns blazing, Night Shade leapt onto Charizard's back, all the while
maintaining a relentless barrage of fire towards the oncoming horde
below.
"There are too many of them! Let's get out of here! I can't Teleport
while we're in range of their psykers!"
Below them, protected by a powerufl Barrier, rushed a horde of humans
and Pokemon, all wearing similar ancient-Japanese garb. Night Shade's
bulletes were being returned by special-attacks; fire, water, leaves,
ice, wind, lightning, psionic waves and even blasts of arcane energy
were headed their way, the only thing protecting them being
Charizard's deft manouevering.
"We're f__ked! They're gaining on us! All this trouble just for a
stupid ball of rice!" In Night Shade's backpack lay one of the most
treasured relics of ancient times, the Leftovers of the Great Green
One. The only physical proof of Goddish's existence, the Leftovers
could heal an injured Pokemon in seconds from merely touching them. As
if to hallmark their sacred nature, a bright yellow light was spread
out from Night Shade's backpack.
A torrent of water rushed past them, but Charizard screamed with agony
and spiralled head-first towards the ground, its tail-flame
extingushed.
"Grr....."
Drawing on her entire reserve of spiritual energy, Night Shade
struggled to break free of the Disable blocking her one most vital
skill, and with a flash of white they disappeared into the ether.
------
"Felix!"
Kirsty couldn't see a thing, or think. Her mind seemed cloudy and her
body was covered in sweat, it was as if she had just awoken from a
dream, or more correctly, a nightmare.
"Felix! Help me Felix!"
"Felix? Is that you? Where am I? What's happening? It's so dark in
here! Where are my Pokemon?"
"Felix, where have I been? What's going on? Have I been asleep?"
Kirsty slumped against something, rock, was it a cave wall?
"I don't remember much of it." She tried to stand, but only succeeded
in falling forwards. "I was a Team Rocket member, or something, and I
had a Charizard which I was in love with. That's not normal, is it?"
Normally she didn't say all that much despite being somewhat of an
airhead, but all she could do now was speak and walk and run and jump,
as if her body was a toy she had lost and upon rediscovery, wanted to
play with again.
"Yeah, something like that. None of my Pokemon were in it, well, I
think Gyarados was, but I had a Jiggly-something, a Hypno and a
Hitmonchan. Don't know how those got in there. I didn't see you
though. Strange. Normally dreams are..."
Something large slammed into Kirsty's temple, and she blacked out,
returning to the prison she had just unwittingly escaped.
------
"Erg..."
Night Shade felt a warm touch on her, Kirsty's, shoulder. All she
could see was darkness, but as she turned around a dazzling white
light blinded her momentarily with its radiance.
"Charizard?"
In the darkness she could just make out the form of her companion, his
eyes burnging brightly in the darkness. At the tip of his tail, a
bright red flame blazed with his life-force.
"Where are we?" Her voice was faint, sounding more like the Kirsty of
old than Night Shade.
"Did I, teleport us here?"
Despite the darkness and her unfocused eyes, she
could see that the great fire-lizard was smiling broadly now that his
mistress had returned.
"Five...years?" Slowly her eyes began to adjust, having not been
opened for a long, long time. She could make out the entrance to the
cave, and the dark night sky beyond.
In one of his paws, Charizard held
the source of the previously-dazzling light, the Leftovers.
Night Shade laughed quietly, and went back to sleep with Charizard's
warm breath blowing across her body, warming her beneath the thick
bedroll under which she slept.
------
"Easy enough. One more to go."
Cat-Gonk's pale purple fingers danced across the keypad of the Laptop,
moving faster than the human eye could follow. It was as if a nimbus
of purple-white energy was playing about the surface of the device,
which caused the bedchamber to be filled with the constant rattle of
keys.
"You should write more, you know. That's not even two pages."
Cat-Gonk sat upright in bed, back resting against pillows pressed
against the bed's ornately carved headpiece. Infront of him rested the
laptop, which sat on the firm hips of a beautiful teenage girl. The
yellow silk sheets covered her midsection, revealing her shoulders and
thighs.
"I'll add to it later, when it goes on the archive."
"You still need to set that up." The girl reacher up from under the
covers, and ran a hand through Cat-Gonk's erratically-spiked hair
before taking the purple glasses from his brow and placing them on her
own. As if to respond, the monocle of the Mega-Sound Device's headset
flicked out from inside Cat-Gonk's temple.
"I love these glasses," said Cat-Gonk's companion, taking them off and
polishing the crystal surface on the silk sheets. "It's a pity that in
RL you left them in that chick's car."
"Don't remind me. I'm not drinking any more boxed red stuff."
------
Entei Plaza, Hellion City.
Marble tiles met immaculately groomed grass lawns, bordering the
polished alabaster statues of Great Entei. Two figures stood in the
empty courtyard, one in power armour and the other shouded in black
mist.
"You really think he won't notice?"
"Well, I've bumped up his age by five years, this way I just get to
restore everything to the way it was before. If anything, he'll be
even more in the dark."
"I doubt that. You can only mess with his head so much, after all."
"Hey, you're forgetting that it is, in the end, a major part of his
plotline. It should make things even more interesting."
"Fine. You know I prefer it when you don't interfere on a personal
basis. It ruins things due to the fact that you, as the author, are in
effect a God, which might break one or two rules."
"Caheeh."
The air around the two figures shimmered, before returning to normal.
The Hellion skyline remained constant despite having technically been
put forward five years into the future.
"All I've got to do now, is put Everloving sometime_after_this post,
and the continuity correction will be complete. It'd be a little wierd
if Leon went for five years without investigating the re-appearance of
his lover."
"I guess. Seeyou later."
The black figure vanished, leaving Cat-Gonk alone in the plaza.
------
His life flashed before his eyes as he fell towards the pavement, the
box of casked wine in his hands slipping from his grasp and falling to
the ground with him.
"I've got it!" The ball streaked up into the sky, Felix running
towards it. In the distance, Tick watched the results of his
handiwork, Jolteon by his side.
"Come on! Break through its defenses!" Galahad pulled back a stinger
and delivered a powerful blow to Starmie's core, sending the starfish
Pokemon reeling. It retaliated with a jet of water powerful enough to
knock Galahad from the air, but he recovered quickly and returned fire
with a salvo of Pin Missiles. This was Felix's second gym battle, and
he clenched his fists with anticipation as he ordered another assault.
"The ship's going to sink! We have to get out of here!"
"Raichu chu!"
"Got it!" With a surge of inner energy, the knives released from his
hands and swept out a wide arc in the air above Hellion Hive before
the stocks of the weapons returned to his fingers.
"Stay back!" The recoil of the weapon almost knocked him off his feet
as he took aim and fired a round at the advancing Rockets, who ducked
and weaved from alleyway to alleyway. Tick had Tomoe on the defensive,
his repeated volleys of throwing knives slowly wearing away at his
opponent's strong defense. The whirling golden staff was beginning to
lose its strength, any moment now he would be able to sieze the
advantage.
"Seeyou around. Give us a call, will you?" With a nod of his head,
Tick stepped through the shimmering portal, and disappeared into the
ether of non-continuity.
"Hey, I'm Jon, good to meet you."
"Dustin, you say? I think I've met you before..."
"Come on! We're falling behind! Just a few more Agility!"
"We'd better get a move on. The tournament starts in a week."
"And the winner is, Lorelei Prima, with a resounding 3-0 defeat over
Felix Charlesson! It was an amazing battle, but the boy from the sunny
shores of Hellion Town was simply out-classed by the Ice Queen of the
Elite Four!"
"You've been in a coma for almost a month."
"Did you just say you were starting out, D'Lesse?"
"Nice match, Andrew. You looked like you were going to thrash me for a
moment there, but it turned out to be pretty close."
"Mr Charlesson, you have another title match. Your fans are holding
out for another 3-0 victory."
"Take me! Please, do it now!"
"Johto? Do they want me there for training, or for the girls?"
Before the more recent memories could reach his subconscious, Felix
hit the ground, and it all went black.
------
"Whoops. I think some NC-H got through into his memory."
"I'm not complaining, and I don't think he would be either. Still
though, I'd liked to have written some more stuff for him other than
him passing out due to excessive goon consumption."
"You can always fix it up later. Come to bed."
