Bob and Raffy start to walk away towards Ecruteak City when he decides to
take one last look at the group of crazy people (so he thought). He saw a Electrode
right in front of the BBB group, paralyzed with fear at the moment. Bob starts to
walk away, laughing on the way.
"Oh that's good. The one pokemon that that kid said they were out to obliterate
and it looks ready to clobber them. HA!" Bob said, enjoying the irony.
<> Raffy projected,
laughing at both his comment and the irony behind them.
The two of them keep walking down the road to Ecruteak City. It's the usual
walk.
They see a few wild pokemon, the Girafarig makes a few smart-ass comments, they
admire the scenery. All is normal until they get to the city limits of Ecruteak.
Then
just as the afternoon was winding down, the poison from the Tentacool that Bob
got slimed with earlier decides to take hold in his system.
"Uh, Raffy. I don't feel so good." Bob said, the colour going from his cheeks.
His legs were giving out in him and after a couple of seconds, Bob collapsed.
The problem is that they weren't in town far enough for anybody to help. This
meant the Raffy the Girafarig was the only one able to help Bob. After a good two
minutes of high-quality brain freeze, Raffy got a plan. Using his psychic abilities,
he
very carefully put Bob on his back, and bolted towards the Pokemon Center as fast
as possible. About five minutes later, Raffy, with Bob on top, arrived at the
Pokemon
Center.
At the Pokemon Center, the Chansey was at the reception desk because Nurse Joy
was busy working on Morty's latest challenger. Raffy puts Bob on the floor
psychically
and carefully and goes up to the desk looking for help, just as he's seen Bob do many
times in the past. The Nurse Joy of the Center comes out, slightly surprised to see
a
pokemon at the desk without a trainer.
"Hello little guy, do you have a trainer?" Nurse Joy asked, genuinely curious
Raffy motions over to Bob, fading in and out of consciousness. Nurse Joy looks
over at the boy and moves towards him, thinking he's just asleep. When she gets a
closer look, she noticed that he's been poisoned, like she seen so many pokemon like
in the past. Bob wakes up for all of about 10 seconds, but it's long enough.
"Nurse Joy ... ... ... Tentacool ... ... ... about 3 hours ago ... ... ... please
help." After
getting that out, Bob slips back into unconsciousness.
Nurse Joy, only knowing how to treat pokemon, does the only thing she can do.
She
calls a doctor. Raffy, meanwhile, decides to lie over next to Bob to keep him warm.
At the desk, about 20 feet away, Joy and the doctor are having a conversation on
the
phone. Raffy's tired, so he doesn''t catch all of it.
"Doctor, I've got a boy here dying of poison and I don't think he'll make it to
the hospital
in time."
"Well what you have to do is ... ... ... "
"Doctor! This stuff's never been tested on humans!"
"Do you want him to die?"
"... ..." Nurse Joy thought for a second.
Raffy fell asleep. A couple of hours later, he woke up, still next to Bob, but
now Bob had
been moved to a recovery room, a blood bag and an IV antidote bag were hung up,
dripping
slowly into Bob's vein. Only time will tell what would happen.
The next morning, Bob woke up about noon. His pokemon were already up, out, fed,
and
were now repaying the favour for Nurse Joy. Raffy looked into the door of Bob's room
just
as he wakes up. There was a bottle of water on the other side of the room, and Bob
decided
that after a long rest, a drink was in order. However, instead of getting up, a vine
about the
diameter of a finger shot out, grabbed the bottle, and brought it back to him. Both
of the
Girafarig's heads stared in amazement and Bob's jaw hit the floor. Nurse Joy looked
in just in
time to see the vine return to where it came from -- Bob's wrist.
"I told that doctor that there would be side effects! I'll let him have it!"
Nurse Joy steamed.
Bob pulls up his sleeve only to notice that his arm is now covered in leaves, and
they looked like
they were growing on him, not just something used for insulation. The leaves went
all the way
up his arm, ending at the shoulder. "Excuse me Nurse Joy. What's going *on* here?"
Bob said,
still stunned at his new look, and ability.
Nurse Joy stared back.
