From: Andrusi is STILL in love with SaraJ (andyvvv@aol.com.geable) Subject: [PW!][BBB] I'm Too Damn Lazy To Think Up A Title Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2001-03-30 16:34:09 PST Basher League... NOW! Aipom, angry. Renev, running. Enimuram, endangered. Will he be able to survive his encounter with a monkey that looks like it was drawn by someone using hallucinogens? "Magnemite, get ready for battle!" Enimuram shouted as he pulled out his Pokéballs once more. "Flareon, Tentacool, go!" "Mag!" "Flare!" "Cool!" "Tenta?" "I was just saying how cool it is that I finally get to use you and Flareon in a battle." "Cool." "I just said that..." Confused, Enimuram shrugged. "Attack it!" Lightning, fire, and bubbles streamed towards the Aipom. He shrugged the attacks off and proceeded to smash Tentacool all over Flareon, resulting in both being knocked out and once more preventing either from ever gaining any battle experience. "Aiaiai!" the Aipom shouted triumphantly. It then turned to Enimuram. "Pom!" It then motioned to the trees... and an entire flock of Pidgeys came out of the trees, preparing to divebomb Enimuram (who wisely started running.) He opened his Pokédex. "*beep* Through careful breeding, Aipom can learn the move Beat Up, which causes all Pokémon on the user's team to attack the enemy. It is theoretically possible for this to occur in the wild; however, the chances of this are approximately 8,796,093,022,208 to 1, and no one has ever recorded what happens when a wild Pokémon uses the move." Enimuram growled. "Whoopee. I'm a researcher." He noticed Magnemite shocking the Pidgeys and shouted, "Good job!" The Pokédex continued. "The Beat Up attack halts only when either all Pokémon present have attacked, or when the using Pokémon is somehow stopped." Enimuram blinked (and collided with a tree, but recovered and started running again before his pursuers caught up). "That's it!" he exclaimed. He turned his head to Magnemite again. "Attack the Aipom!" He then waited for the Thundershock. But it never happened. Instead, Magnemite's eye squinted, and a bright red beam shot out of its pupil. The beam swept around until it encountered the Aipom, which was suddenly surrounded by an E-102-esque wireframe targeting box. Then Magnemite's magnets pivoted forward and glowed yellow. "Magnemite..." Two rather large bolts of electricity shot out of the magnets and hit the Aipom, which was knocked backwards and almost knocked out. It tried to get up, but couldn't--it was paralyzed. The Pidgeys fluttered away. Enimuram's jaw dropped. The Pokédex spoke up. "Arguably Magnemite's most powerful attack is the Zap Cannon. This attack is extremely strong and almost invariably paralyzes the foe. Although it is very inaccurate, Magnemite makes up for this with its Lock-On move." Enimuram, for what seemed like the millionth time, blinked. "Magnemite? You didn't know either of those moves before..." He looked at the dozens of fainted Pidgeys. "Oh, right. Experience. Didn't expect you to level up that fast though--are you hodling a Lucky Egg or something?" Magnemite shrugged. "Mag." Enimuram looked at the Aipom. "Well, Andy did promise." He tossed a Pokéball. The Aipom didn't even bother fighting it--he just allowed himself to be captured. Just then, Andy walked over, Electron in tow. "Hey, Enimuram. Did you catch it?" Enimuram grinned. "Yep. And Magnemite is stronger now, too. Learned Lock-On and Zap Cannon." Now it was Andy's turn to blink... because Ted Brotlov, Cyclonus, and Scourge were standing right there (resting, I guess, in Scourge's case). Ted waved. "Oh, don't mind us. We're just making our Mandatory Appearance In Every Storyline." With that, Ted and Cyclonus turned and ran off. Scourge blinked (Electrode: fast in body, slow in mind), then spun around and rolled off after the two. Enimuram and Andy shrugged, then strolled off on their way to Ekruteak. TBC A few related messages: NewHaights: If you want to add a character to BBB sooner rather than later, try to have him/her in either Violet or Ekruteak soon. Technically he/she could join anywhere, but I feel it'd be easier to do in a city. No pressure, though--you don't need to add in a character just yet, though I'd prefer you get around to it before 2002. But if you don't, I'll live. I'm just trying to avoid stagnation, you know? All WAM members: I'd like to suggest the creation of a WAM PW! group. Anyone interested in exchanging ideas on this, just mail me (the address is in the headers, take off the obvious spamblock). I'd do it myself except only have one WG left, so it'd have to be a non-WGed group (which would suck royally). Others: Anyone who wants to join the Bomb Ball Bashers, in the NG or in PW!, should of course go to the web site at the FBZ (http://members.aol.com/andyvvv, click Pokémon, then Bomb Ball Bashers) and read the info there. I am also now accepting applications for secondary enemies in PW!. Oh, but I'm not through yet... one more PW... -Andy &&
