Subject: [PW!] Ledian and Lulu To The Rescue! Date: Sun, 04 Nov 2001 21:46:00 GMT From: Rob <robfrompw@yahoo.com> Organization: EarthLink Inc. -- http://www.EarthLink.net Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Sarah the shepherdess sits next to the unconscious blonde teenager known as Splash, her hands keeping his head elevated, "I hope the he didn't hurt his head..." "With the way he was acting, maybe a blow to the head is what he needed to knock him back to his senses." Nori comments, looking over to the large tree on Route 36 where Splash crashed into when Andrew O'Reilly hopped out of the way as Splash charged at him. She then sees that the sumo Sudowoodo who was threatening her earlier is flattened and the large Skarmory who was about to strike the people gathered here is fainted, "It's a good thing that Electrode showed up." "Never *ever* say something good about Electrode!" Andy shouts, then turns to his partner, "You know what, Enimuram - I'm not so sure we should trust this girl." Enimuram grinds his teeth together while he grunts, "That's what I've been saying all along..." Andrew O'Reilly, having just now finished the elaborate dance moves that he performed when Splash was charging at him in order to dodge the lead pipe wielding psychopath, walks over to where Andy, Enimuram, and Nori are gathered and notes, "But she's our guide. If we don't trust her, it could take us weeks to find Ecruteak, the way it took a certain Ash Ketchum a couple of years ago." Upon seeing Andrew, Andy's anger towards Nori's comment immediately disappears and is replaced with admiration, then he asks, "Where'd you learn those moves?" Andrew simply replies, "Ever heard of a video game called Rain Dance Evolution?" Suddenly, Barbie the Mareep notices that most of her foes are no longer threatening her - Nori and the Bomb Ball bashers are huddled in a group together and thus aren't paying attention to her, the Sudowoodo and the Skarmory are fainted, and even Luthor the Slowpoke is too tired to sit up straight. In fact, Barbie's about to relax, until she turns her head and notices that the strange young man who seems to be stalking Sarah and his Girafarig are staring at her, from their vantage point of right next to her. "Eeeeep!" Barbie bleats out, then runs past the four person huddle, past Luthor the Slowpoke, then hides under Sarah's beige skirt. Sarah wishes she could hug her Mareep in order to calm her down, but she wants to continue to elevate Splash's head until he wakes up. She sighs after a moment, noticing that of all the people in the vicinity, she's the only one who actually cares about Splash's misfortune. Sarah asks, "Isn't any... anyone gonna... help me?" Before Bob Raiser can come to Sarah's rescue, a male Ledian flutters into the area and declares, "Ledian!" A young brown-haired blue-eyed boy wearing an orange bandana and a green outfit is not too far behind, jogging after the Flying Bug Pokemon. The boy calls out to Sarah, "Fear not - the Mountain Patrol has arrived!" "Mountain patrol?" Sarah asks, not having noticed any mountains nearby because she has been mostly looking down at the ground ever since she entered Route 36. She looks up, then glances around the horizon to see a beautiful mountain range in the area, similar to the one surrounding her home near Route 32. After gazing at the mountains for a little while, she turns her attention back to Splash. The Ledian she saw earlier is now hovering over the unconscious teen and he's using two of his arms to put Splash's legs into a net he's carrying with the other two of his four arms. Sarah is startled by the Pokemon's actions and asks, "Wh-what're you doin'?" The bandana-wearing boy catches up to Ledian just in time to hear Sarah's question, so he answers it for his Bug Pokemon, "Hi, I'm Benji, and this is my Ledian. We're part of the Mountain Patrol. We usually only help lost trainers who walk up to the mountains trying to find Ecruteak City, but my dad's Pidgeotto was flying near here and noticed trouble, so dad sent me here to help, even if it's not part of the mountains. Ledian's putting your friend in a net to carry him off to the nearest place where he can get help, Wobbuffet Village." As Benji finishes his explanation, Ledian makes Sarah release her grip on Splash's head and puts it in the net. Sarah watches as Ledian grips the net containing Splash with his four arms, and shyly asks, "...will Ledian... be str-strong enough... to c-carry that m-much weight?" "Oh yeah," Benji answers Sarah's question with much confidence, "A couple of years ago, Ledian carried a net that had two humans, a Victreebel, a Wobbuffet, a Meowth, a Pikachu, and a Togepi in it all by himself. I'm pretty sure he'll be able to handle your friend's weight. C'mon, follow us to the village!" Benji jogs westward and Ledian flies after him, carrying the net Splash is in with ease. Sarah stares in disbelief that the small Bug Pokemon can carry Splash's weight, but eventually stammers, "W-wait... for me..." She recalls her tired Slowpoke into his Lure Ball then runs to catch up with Benji and Ledian, Barbie chasing after her. After a few minutes, Benji, Ledian, Splash, and Sarah arrive at Wobbuffet Village. Benji knocks on the door of the first house he sees, a small house with a blue roof. A chubby red-haired woman wearing a pink shirt, blue shorts, socks, and sandals opens the door and says, "Hello there!" Before Benji can say anything, the woman says, "Oh my, that poor young man... Is he hurt?" Benji answers her, "Actually, he's out cold... I'm wondering if there's a hospital in this villa-" The woman answers, "Well, we don't have a hospital in our small village, but you're all welcome to stay at my house if you want. I have an extra bed your friend can rest on and I can cook up a delicious meal for him so that he'll recover quickly when he wakes up!" Sarah smiles and glances up at the hospitable woman, "Y-you're... so kind..." "I'm just doing what I can." The woman smiles back at Sarah, "My name's Lulu... who're you?" After Sarah and Benji tell Lulu their names, they follow her into one of the rooms in her house. A Wobbuffet with fat cheeks is lounging on the blue bed there, but when he sees Splash, he hops off and salutes, "WOB-BUFFET!" As Ledian moves Splash from the net onto the blue bed, Benji says, "Thank you, Lulu! I'd stay for dinner, but dad might need me to help him back home, so once Ledian finishes putting Sarah's friend on the bed, I have to go." Once Ledian's finished, he flies over to Benji's side. Benji nods at Sarah and Lulu, "It's been a pleasure meeting you both. I hope your friend gets well soon, Sarah!" Lulu accompanies Benji and his Ledian to the door, and once they've left, comes back and says, "I'm going to start dinner - would you like to help me cook or would you rather stay here sitting on Wobbuffet's rocking chair to keep an eye on your friend?" "I... I can't... can't cook, sorry..." Sarah sits down on the Wobbuffet-shaped rocking chair in the room and glances at the still unconscious Splash, "I'll stay... here..." Lulu chuckles and says, "All right... I'll call you when dinner's ready..." She walks out of the room, heading for her kitchen, to prepare a delicious platter of burgers. Barbie the Mareep timidly enters the room now that it's less full, and suspiciously eyes the large Wobbuffet there, "Ree...?" Wobbuffet exclaims, "Wob-buffet!" Sarah begins to rock back and forth on the rocking chair she's sitting on, looking around the room at all the pictures and paintings of Wobbuffet, "Lulu sure does love you, doesn't she, Wobbuffet?" The Wobbuffet faces Sarah and salutes again, "WOB-BUFFET!" Sarah smirks, "It sure would be funny if you shouted Darntootin." -Sarah
