The Ditto's confidence flooded back as he remembered his trip to
Celadon during the Inverse-Kanji wedding well over a year ago.
Panopticon, merged with his Ditto partner Proteus, had suffered a
crushing defeat there, with Doppler administering the psionic coup de
grace.
"You speak as if you're on the verge of finding out," Doppler at
last responded. "Presumptuous, aren't we?"
Panopticon sneered. "Oh, there'sss more than one way to -"
"All right, people, take your places for scene sixty-seven!" the
guttural yell of Stevon Schpielbunk interrupted.
"But where are my prioritiesss?" Panopticon added. "If you'll
excussse me..." He casually strode past Doppler to return to work.
Trying to appeal to Panopticon's ego, Doppler scoffed after the
cyber-saur, "I should have figured. You were nothing with your Ditto
friend...and alone, you're even less."
Panopticon stopped in his tracks.
The skater girl put her hands on her hips. "Did I strike a nerve?"
Panopticon gave an irritated snort. "Third."
Doppler raised an eyebrow. "Pardon?"
"In my kill-queue, you're third. Don't make me dessstroy you out
of turn; I worked ssso hard on that queue..."
"Only third?" Doppler said. "I'm insulted."
Panopticon said nothing. He headed to his place for the next
scene with his tail swishing from side to side.
