Well, here I am writing another PW!
Thankyou Nick.
and I know i havent got my WG for D'lesse up. But if you're that desperate
to see it, go and look for it on Deja. it got posted ages ago
Anyway....into it.
New Arrival
D'lesse's car started with a loud roar.
the V8 engine purred as she put her foot down and sped away from the car
dealers.
The car she brought - a 1996 Corvette convertable, was brand new, and she
was the first owner.
She was going to out-run the rain, which was heading across the bay. No
point in getting wet, when you can just buy a car.
It was a fair distance to get out of the city. D'lesse had a lot of time to
think about things.
She thought how she was going to have to do something with herself. She
wasnt sure who saw her the night she went up to Rita's place. And the last
thing she needed was to be put in jail for killing her. That was the thing
D'lesse was extra paranoid about. Being connected to Rita's death.
She spot in the woods where Rita died, was coming up along the road, and
D'lesse felt a cold chill. Which almost made her run the car off the road.
'Holy shit!'
D'lesse corrected the car, and pulled to the side of the road.
'Man, i need a cigarette.' she said, brushing the hair out of her eyes, and
taking a deep breath.
she could see the rain following slowly. Like it was watching her, keeping
up to see where she was going.
it was dark black rain too. Not the pretty summer shower crap stuff. This
was rain that knew what she was thinking. Rain with a history of death and
darkness. D'lesse was starting to freak out.
Back in the car, she turned up the stereo, he favorite song was playing.
Which seemed appropriate for the mood. It was called Loser. Not that D'lesse
was a loser. She'd achieved a lot over the past week or two. She'd commited
murder in the first degree, stolen hundrens of thousands of dollars, and
conned many people. Which was quite an achievement.
On she drove. it was getting a little colder as she got up into the hills.
she noticed a small bus stop on the side of the road, and thought it a
strange place to have one, but after all, this road was the main road to get
out of the city.
As D'lesse approached it, a teenage boy, jumped out, and she had to swearve
not to hit him.
'Stupid idiot!' D'lesse yelled, as she backed up to give him an earful.
'What the fuck do you think you are doing.'
'Please,' The boy said, with desperation in his voice, 'my girlfriend,
she's having a baby, and I dont know what to do'
D'lesse looked past the boy, and saw his girlfriend, hunched over in pain.
She looked up at D'lesse, and the pain in her eyes was incredible.
'Please, can you help us?' She cried.
D'lesse was stunned.
This girl didn't look a day over 16, and the boyfriend the same.
She jumped out over the car, and dashed into the bus stop.
'Come on, get up.' She said to the girl. 'the rain is coming and you dont
wanna be stuck here having a baby do you.'
The girl shook her head, and D'lesse helped her get into the passengers side
of the Corvette. The boy jumped into the tiny back seat, and hung on for
dear life, and D'lesse hauled ass up the hill.
'Where are we going?' He asked.
'To my brothers house.' D'lesse replied.
'What?!' The boy was a little shocked. 'Why not the hospital?'
"Because I cant go there. Just shut up. i've delivered babies before ok?
Your girlfriend will be fine.'
The boy didn't quite know what to think.
D'lesse and the Boy helped the girl inside.
Her brother never locked the door, which was a good thing. D'lesse didnt
want to be delivering a baby in the front seat of her brand new car.
They took her upstairs, to what was D'lesse's old bedroom. The bed was still
there, and a set of drawers.
After getting her comfortable, D'lesse took the boy out of the room.
'How far apart are her contractions?' She asked
'About 4 minutes.' He replied.
'Good. the baby wont be here just yet.'
D'lesse put her hand on his shoulder. This set him at ease.
'Is she gonna be alright?'
'Yeah, you have nothing to worry about.' She looked back into the bedroom,
and the girl had fallen asleep. 'How old is she?' D'lesse asked
"She's 16. Her name is Jessie.'
D'lesse sighed.
'16.'
The boy looked at her. He was waiting for some form of dissaproval.
'It was my fault' He said.
'I'm not judging you - what's your name?'
"Nick.' Nick said
'Ok, Nick, I'm not judging you. I was 16 when I had my daughter.'
D'lesse looked down.
Then they heard a scream.
Jessie was having another contraction.
'Nick, go into the kitchen, find me some towels, a knife, and bring some
water please.'
Nick ran off and D'lesse sat beside Jessie.
She was sweating like crazy. D'lesse remembered what it was like when she
gave birth to Libby. All she had was a cardboard box in an alley. It was
lucky D'lesse had picked these two up.
'Where's Nick?' Jessie cried. 'I want him'
'It's ok Jessie.' D'lesse said, putting a hand on her forehead, and
sweaping the hair out of her eyes. 'Nicks gone to get me some things so I
can deliver this baby for you ok?'
'Do you know how?'
D'lesse could tell Jessie was very frightened.
'Yeah, I know how.'
Jessie screamed in pain again.
This baby was coming and very soon.
'Nick! hurry up!' D'lesse called. 'This baby is coming!'
Nick raced around in the kitchen, trying to find all the things he needed,
which he eventually did.
By this time D'lesse had told Jessie to push.
Nick sat down beside his girlfriend.
Jessie turned to look at him, and Nick smiled.
'Fuck you.' She said.
Nick was stunned
'Pardon?'
'i said FUCK YOU. it's your fault I'm like this damnit.'
Jessie looked at D'lesse.
She was trying not to laugh.
'It's ok.' D'lesse said. 'Sometimes that happens. She doesnt mean it. Just
agree with her.'
Nick didnt know what to think.
'Ok Jessie, one last big push, and it's out ok?'
1, 2, 3.
Then there was silence.
Then a slap, and the baby cried.
'It's a boy'
