Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2001-04-17 16:12:07 PST Previously, Hito arrived in Goldenrod City. In Johto. Nothing else. ----------------- In a city somewhere in Kanto, a few weeks ago... So many. They all looked alike. Could so many people be trying to fool him? They had to be. They had to be trying to keep him away from Murasaki. Anyone... who tried to keep him away from Murasaki... They had to be punished. He had to eliminate them. He had made up his mind. They had to be taken care of. Everywhere. They all had to be taken care of. So that no one would keep him away from Murasaki. ------------- Johto, Present day... In a house in central Goldenrod, a young boy was crying. His cousin, an older girl who had come to the city in order to try and get a badge from the local gym leader, had stolen the last apple from him. Just as he was about to take a bite from it. Hearing the cries of her six-year-old son, Mrs. Wa came into the room. Correctly guessing what had happened, she turned to scold at her niece. "Watashi, you may be my brother's daughter, but I will not have your selfishness in my home. You're fifteen years old, for goodness sake! And I'm sick of your behavior. I've told you before that there would be repercussions for your actions." "But Aunt Anata-" Watashi began. "I don't want to hear it, Watashi," Anata Wa said sharply, cutting off the younger girl. "Please leave my house. And don't come back until you learn how to behave." ------------- Hito opened her eyes, blinking in the sunlight. Sitting upright, she looked around. She'd camped out last night, on the edge of Goldenrod. Lokon slept to her side, curled up in a ball. At her feet, just where she had left it, was her bag. What time was it? She quickly glanced at her watch. It was 10 in the morning. And her stomach was growling. She needed something to eat. But she didn't have any food left in her bag. And after checking around in her bag, she saw that she didn't have much cash. She'd need a job. But first she needed something to eat. She would look for a job in town after that. After cleaning up her campsite, Hito, with Lokon perched in her favorite position (her snout resting on the top of Hito's head, body on Hito's backpack) headed into town. The first restaurant that she came to was another branch of Brock's Diner. Lokon jumped away from Hito just as she entered the Diner, heading off to go look for some food on her own. The interior of the diner was laid out in the traditional format. There seemed to be two waitresses on duty, and three customers. In a corner booth to the right of the entrance was an elderly man sipping coffee and eating a piece of toast. Another customer, a weary looking middle aged lady sat at the far end of the counter, sipping a large steaming cup of... something... and smoking a cigarette intermittently. However, the third customer caught the most of Hito's attention. She was a young girl, maybe a year younger than Hito. Loudly screaming at the waitress, she was refusing to pay for the food. "It was horrible. I refuse to pay for it," the girl said loudly. "But if you didn't like the food, why did you eat all of it?" the waitress asked the girl. "If you had told me it was bad, I would have taken it back to the kitchen and gotten you something else. But you ate all of the food, so you have to pay for it." "Nope, I refuse," the girl said, brushing her shoulder length blonde hair out of her eyes. "You can't make me pay for that crap that you call food, and I'm not going to." With those words, the girl got out of her seat and headed for the door. When the waitress moved to stop the girl from leaving, the girl called out a Pidgeotto, effectively stopping the waitress from doing anything. As the girl left, the Pokemon flew out the door after her. Hito followed. She didn't like this girl. She didn't seem like a nice person. As Hito left the Diner, Lokon jumped up to meet her, and settled into her favorite spot. The selfish girl who had refused to pay for her food had stopped walking up ahead. Hito quickly caught up to her, in an attempt to confront the girl. "That wasn't a nice thing to do," Hito said bluntly, walking up to the girl. The girl quickly glanced over her shoulder, saw Hito, and grinned. It wasn't a friendly grin, though. "I saw you in the diner," the girl said, still grinning. "I've done that before. It was no big deal." "You seem like a horrible person," Hito replied. "I would hate to know you." "I have a feeling that we'll meet again," the girl said. "There is a higher power at work here." "Higher power?" "Yeah," the girl replied. "The author." "Right," Hito said, "I believe you." "It doesn't matter if you believe me or not," the girl said. "My name is Watashi. Watashi Wa." "How... fitting..." Hito replied. "I'm Hito Shakaku." Watashi grinned again before turning around and heading down the street. With a reluctant sigh, Hito thought of the cash in her pocket, and of her rumbling stomach, then turned back to the restaurant to pay the bill that Watashi had left unpaid. TBC.......? That was bad...
