[PW!] Past Thoughts
Recap: Dante had a huge meal on a small Pokémon Island, which consisted of its
inhabitants, after he helped evacuate some Charmander eggs from Cinnabar. Now,
he is flying home to Celadon.
Whoopse - I posted the wrong story that called attention to Charizards and
Dragonites.
---
Dante, heir of Shiro and Ur-Dragon, soared through the air - though albeit
slower than usual. He patted his rumbling, now-full paunch with satisfaction.
After downing several pounds of Totodile eggs, Hoothoot, and just about
everything else, he felt that he didn't need to eat for a while.
However, digesting the food did not bode well with Dante's gastrointestinal
system. The dragon let out a mighty burp that rattled his teeth and spooked
some hiding Pidgeys to fly off.
"Perhaps eating those eggs wasn't the best of ideas," Dante said to no one in
particular. "However, those Pidgeys would make a good meal?if I didn't have a
couple of them in me already." Dante saw his home - Celadon Mountain - coming
up on the horizon.
Dante scowled deeply at the Pidgey, and then, with great effort, turned, and
broke into a stomach-churning dive that brought him to the top of Celadon
Mountain. The unique flattop of the mountain seemed more alien to him than it
ever had. Dante looked out into the skyline.
Where once was a great river, there was now city, inhabited by the pink,
soft-skinned primate race that Dante loathed. He dimly remembered the Tech
Weaver fellow he had encountered in the old hunting ground. "He did not seem so
bad," Dante thought. "But then, he was not exactly human, was he?"
The clearing where the Shiro had grown their simple crops, mainly thick, tough
roots that reminded them of hard meat, and tall trees that had huge acorns and
berries, was now regrown in forest. Dante remembered once traveling there, as a
Charmander, and liked scaling the huge trees for fun with his cousins. Not too
far from there used to be a Pokémon quarry, for caught prey, and the school,
where he learned his lessons among the awakeners.
And out in the distance, next to mountain, the Shiro training and proving
grounds were held. Dante remembered grimly on the battles that ensued there,
that he watched or participated. The once lowered-ground, with thick rocks
rolled there for boundaries, it was a training camp for the purger and stormer
caste to train. There, they often dyed some of their scales red and black, from
the berries.
All these things, including every colony the Shiro ever possessed, was gone,
taken by the Mentu. Dante tried to remember the day it happened, and only
dimly, thought of that fateful day - the cave, and the battle. He was sealed
just before the siege. For the better part of a thousand years, the Shiro
reigned over Celadon and many colonies.
Dante held his head in his talons and tried to remember.
"I have some reading to do," Dante declared, and dropped down through the
mountain-hole into his lair.
TBC.
