"Haaaa~l!" A Flaaffy with excessively nappy fur trots out on screen, "Hal, come
see my new dress!"
"I've already seen your dress!" Halogen, the slovenly Lanturn returns, "I saw
it when Magmarcy bought it, and I saw it when you were fishing it outta her
trash can!" He turns to face his wife, and sees that she isn't wearing her new
dress at all. In fact, she isn't wearing anything at all. Halogen's jaw drops
to the ground, amidst much canned laughter.
Nori, Anubis, and Set are sitting in the Violet City Pokémon Center, watching
"Mareeped with Chinchou," and waiting for Cerberus the Dodrio to be healed.
Cerberus isn't actually injured per se--in fact, it hasn't been in a battle for
quite some time. However, Nori expects it to Fly her to Mahogany Town later in
the week, and she wants to make sure it's in tiptop condition in time for the
trip.
There's another reason for their stopover at the Center, and it has to do with
Nori's personal needs. After spending three long days in the Ruins of Alph,
Nori has a strong desire to get some rest. Unfortunately, PC facilities are
designed with "typical" trainers in mind, i.e. the trainers who journey from
dawn until dusk, then check in for the night. They are not designed for people
who like to sleep from 9 in the morning until six pm; and Nori will have to
wait for the 3:00 check-in time, before she can secure a room for herself.
"Hmmm..." Nori attempts to determine the time, without expending the energy
necessary to turn her head, and look at her PokéGear, "I used to watch
'Mareeped' during my lunch break in Viridian, and that was around 1:30. But I
think Violet's a couple of hours behind Viridian. Which means...which means..."
she stifles a yawn, "Which means I'm gonna fall asleep on this couch." She
sloughs off her jacket, and curls up into a tight ball beneath it.
She's just about to nod off, when she remembers that Pokémon Centers aren't
really the safest place for unsupervised Pokémon. Granted, SHE is usually the
one who makes them so, but there's still cause to be wary. With her last bit of
strength, she addresses her Natu, and instructs him carefully, "Set, if anyone
tries to steal you, just wake me, and I'll beat them up."
"Nat?" Set thinks this over, then nods gleefully. Like all Psychics, he is
adept at judging human intentions, and he doubts that anyone in the PC is
planning to kidnap him or Anubis. However, he wants to cause a ruckus, he wants
to get someone in trouble, and most of all, he wants to see Nori do her
impression of a Sneasel. With a cry of "Natooo!" he hops down from the couch,
and sets out across the floor, looking for somebody to provoke...
