When we last left our heros Robert had just told Sammantha the tale of where his scars came from. "It sure is dark in here... I can't even see." Sammantha commented as she bumped into RObert for the umpteenth time. "Yeah well Ghost Pokemon don't come out when Flashlights are on." Robert said as he ducked a cobweb. Which Sammantha failed to do. "AAAAH! WHY DIDN"T YOU WARN ME ABOUT THAT!?" She screamed as she pulled the remnaints of the once whole web out of her long black hair. Robert simply stood there and smiled, then jumped back in shock as she made a dive for his belt. "HEY! What the heck are you doing!?" Robert said as he dodged her again. "I'm trying to get Charmanders ball. Maybe he can light this place up a little without scaring off the Ghost Pokémon." She said innocently as she walked up to him and finally snatched the desired Pokéball from Roberts belt and released the small fire dragon. "Char?" Charmander looked around in confusion, it had been having a very nice dream about a nice warm volcano and it wasn't happy about being called out just as it was going to go for a swim. It locked onto Sammatha as she minimized Charmanders Pokéball and it's eyes took on an angry light. "There, now we can see." Sammantha said as she gave the ball back to Robert. Robert, upon recieving the ball ducked just in time to have a very large plume of fire blast past his head. Looking up to see a charred Sammantha and a contented Charmander he stood and looked sammatha in the eyes. "It's Charmanders nap time, It doesn't like being woken up unless there's a battle." Robert said as he walked over to his little Charmander. "Right Char?" he asked as he knelt down next to his little friend. "Char! Mander mander! Char char!" It said as it stared meanly at Sammantha. Sammatha for her part dusted off and walked over to Charmander and began apologizing. "Was that picture there before?" Robert asked as he ooked at a painting of a beautiful woman wearing a sad face standing on aa ocean bluff. "I don't know, It was so dark I didn't notice." Sammantha sad as she and Charmander stepped up to Robert and looked at the image with him. "Oh well, you may be right. Lets find a ghost Pokémon." Robert said as he headed off. Sammantha started after him and noticed his scars again. {that must've hurt} she thought to herself. Behind our heroes The painting vanished and a vaporous creature took its place. "ghastly?" Elsewhere... "So, he's the son of The Black Flame?" A female voice asked of her companion as they watched the monitors. "So It would seem Sara." A male voice responded "That's interesting, I didn't think The Black Flame stayed in one place long enough to have a family." Sara said as she watched the monitors. "Kyle? Didn't the Black FLame have a Scyther, Kabutops, and a Ghastly aswell? Sara inquired. "I believe so, The Scyther was one of his favorites and should be with the boys mother... The Kabutops was a very vicious Pokémon, Not even the Black flame could keep its temper in check. As for the Ghastly, I think he released it near Lavender town." Kyle replied. Sara watched the screen with interest. "I wonder if Mew will show up again." Pokemon Tower... "WHAT DOES IT WANT!?!?!?!?" Sammantha screamed as she dodged the oncoming Ghastly. "I have no Idea, Char! Hit it with an Ember attack when Sammantha's clear." RObert commanded his Pokémon. "Char. Char!" The Small fire lizard said as it released a short blast of fire at the ghost, doing very little damage. Ghastly dove at Robert and hit one of his two empty Pokéballs. Once the Pokéballs built in struggle sensors detected no fight the ball locked and went into standby mode. "I.... Caught Ghastly?" Robert said quizically as he stared at the Pokéball which housed his new Ghastly. Sammantha was a shocked as he was. "I guess so." she said as she turned around and headed towards the exit. "Coming?" She asked as she left the room. TBC... Next time: Robert goes for the Badge at the Safron City Gym, But will Ericas Psychic types Paralyze Roberts winning streak?
