"Here he is," Marcia said as she led Mrs. Psychic into the room where Splash
was happily thinking of Murasaki.
"Ohh... two Murasakis just walked in..." Splash drooled... "But which one is
the real Murasaki?"
Not wasting any time, Marcia walked over to Splash and slapped him. One Splash
was able to tell who she was, she introduced him to Mrs. Psychic.
"Hello... Splash," Mrs. Psychic said. "I'm here to help you."
"You know where Murasaki is?" Splash asked her.
"No," Mrs. Psychic replied, "But I'm here to help you." Reaching into her
purse, Mrs. Psychic removed a silver coin that hung from a long gold chain.
Holding it in front of Splash, she continued, "Look at this coin Splash..."
"Are you going to hypnotize him?" Marcia asked, stating the obvious.
"Quiet," Mrs. Psychic snapped. "If you speak at the wrong time, the shock could
kill this young man."
"Oh," Marcia answered. No matter how crazy Splash was, she didn't want him to
die.
"Splash," Mrs. Psychic said in a calm and soothing voice, "Look at the coin I
am holding in my hand."
She paused as Splash glanced at the coin. Once his eyes focused on the coin, he
found that he coldn't look away. He couldn't blink his eyes. All he could do
was stare at the coin.
"You can hear my voice, correct?" Mrs. Psychic asked.
"...Yes," Splash whispered, transfixed by the coin.
"Now picture the following scene in your mind," Mrs. Psychic continued. "You
are in an elevator. Can you see it?"
"...Yes," Splash replied. "I see it..."
"You are on the top floor of a very tall building. As the elevator begins to
decend, you will become relaxed and at peace."
"...Yes..."
"Now Marcia," Mrs. Psychic said, not taking her eyes off of Splash, "What is it
that you wanted to ask this young man?"
"Umm... He thinks everyone is this girl ...we... know," Marcia explained. "The
last time I saw him, he wasn't this strange. I wanted to know what happened."
"What is this girl's name?"
"Murasaki."
"Splash," Mrs. Psychic said. "What has happened to you since the last time you
saw Marcia... or should I saw Minax?"
Marcia swallowed and felt a lump forming in her throat. Mrs. Psychic knew who
she was! But... her attention never wavered from Splash. Maybe she didn't
care...
"...I saw Murasaki at the Rocket Center in Cerulean..." Splash began. "But she
didn't know who I was! And she didn't care! All she wanted to do was get away
from me!"
"Calm down," Mrs. Psychic said as Splash's breaths grew more and more shallow.
"What did you do then?"
"I... I followed her. I met Minax again in Porta Vista, and she didn't like me
either! She... she... I saw my brother... he was sad... I didn't like him being
sad... He fell over the rail... he was bleeding! Why did he fall? Jenny took me
to jail... I can't take it! I'm all closed in! I can't move! I can't breathe! I
can't handle it... I have to get away. I tricked Jenny. I got out of jail... I
went to see Sabrina... She teleported me to another police station... I ran...
and met Minax again..."
"All right," Mrs. Psychic replied. "I'm beginning to see what happened to you."
"You are?" Marcia asked. "I'm not. That little description made no sense!"
"I told you to be quiet!" Mrs. Psychic hissed. "If you can't be quiet, then I'm
sure Jenny will be glad to be of service to me."
That shut MArcia up. There was no time limit for the crime of murder, be it
human or Pokemon.
"Splash, how do you feel about Murasaki?" Mrs. Psychic asked him. "Tell me the
truth."
"I... love Murasaki..." Splash replied.
"I told you to tell the truth," Mrs. Psychic scolded him.
"I... I... don't love Murasaki..." Splash confessed. "I... when I saw her, she
was no nice to me! I was so lonely... but then she didn't remember me! I... I
just want a friend..."
"Alright Splash," Mrs. Psychic said. "When I clap my hands, you will go to
sleep. When you awaken, you will not remember any of our conversa-"
"Are you sure that would be a good idea?" Marcia cut in. "I mean, he did kill
someone."
"Trust me," Mrs. Psychic replied. "Once he has a true friend, and he will get
one in the future, he will be all right."
"Your sure?"
"Yes," Mrs. Psychic smiled. "I am sure." With the clap of her hands, Splash
fell asleep and the lady put the coin back into her purse.
"However, you will need some help," Mrs. Psychic said as she moved towards the
door. "Your biggest enemy will be coming back into your life. And you need to
be careful." With those words, Mrs. Psychic departed, leaving Marcia and a
sleeping Splash alone.
