He couldn't find him, so he looked around some more. Still unable to find Bugsy, he ran head first into the hedge maze. "Uhh... I guess this is the way," he said, rubbing his face. He went in, and it took him quite some time to find his goal. "Another one," Bugsy said, almost as if annoyed. "I thought these matches were supposed to be staggered." "And I thought you had to accept all challengers, Bugsy," Tetsuo retorted, whistling for Frionel. "I am Tetsuo, from Kazagu Town, and I've come to challenge you, for the Hive Badge." "Good," Bugsy said. "Because if you had come for the Wing Badge, I would have to send you away. Let's just get this over with, before I fall asleep." "All right," Tetsuo said, narrowing his eyes. "Let's go!" "Since you only seem to have one Pokemon, we'll cut right to the chase, with a one on one match. Scyther, I choose you!" Bugsy held out the Pokeball, and released his Scyther, who seemed every bit as tired as Bugsy and Tetsuo. "This oughta be easy," Tetsuo said. "Frionel, go on. Let's show him what type advantages can do." "A type advantage is no advantage against a more skilled trainer," Bugsy said. "Scyther! Slash." "Frionel, Ember." Tetsuo watched, knowing Frionel's power and skill could handle the job. "Scy!" Scyther pulled back his right arm blade, and sprung forward. Frionel yipped as he inhaled, then released his Ember, straight at the charging foe. Scyther yowled in pain, and the black mark where he'd been burned was visible. He still attacked, though, and knocked Frionel back with the mighty slash. "Scyther, back off and use your Double Team." "Frionel, hang in there." Already Scyther was backing up, and his eyes were closed, as he began using his speed for it's most defensive purpose. "You can still find him, just use your ears and find him! Then use your Bite attack." Scyther was up to speed by now, and Frionel almost seemed panicked until he heard his friend. He yipped, and closed his eyes, then started running in what almost looked like circles, until he bit one of the Scyther, causing it to fall back. "Scyther, use a Faint Attack." "Frionel, Roar!" As Frionel took in his breath, the Scyther in front of him disappeared, reappearing from behind and knocking the wind out of the puppy with a firmly planted blow. Frionel still struggled though, and turned around. He knew which one was the enemy, and he was determined to protect his friend. "Frionel!" The puppy pulled back, forcing all of his strength into one final attack, then leapt onto his enemy, forcing the mantis Pokemon to the ground. He yipped as he felt the enemy stop moving, and got off, heading towards Tetsuo. "Good job, Scyther," Bugsy said, recalling the unconscious Pokemon. "All right, kid, you win. Here's your Hive Badge, and good luck on your journey." He tossed the Hive Badge over to Tetsuo, who smiled as he caught it. "Say, are you related to the man who recently died in Kazagu?" "Yes, he was my father. But I should really get going now. Good night," Tetsuo said, yawning as he headed back into the hedge maze. Frionel folloed, tired but conscious, and far moe quiet than usual. As the two arrived in the Pokemon center, Frionel collapsed. Tetsuo picked him up and headed in, to get the puppy healed, and himself some rest...
