Marcia's legs run faster than she imagines they can as she sprints down the stairs
leading to the first floor, leaving Splash way behind her. She smiles when she sees
that there's nothing blocking the exit to the Sprout Tower any longer, and bolts
through it while Splash is still on the second floor. Panting deeply, what little
energy Marcia had left from last night's dinner has been exhausted, so she stops
running for a moment, puts her hands on her knees, and bows her head down. Sprawled
half-dead on the front porch of the Sprout Tower is a paralyzed blue Rattata.
Marcia's stomach rumbles and she looks at the skinning knife in her hand...
By the time Splash reaches the Sprout Tower's porch, both Marcia and the Rattata
are gone, and all that's left is a tiny pool of blood. He shouts, "MURASAKI!!!"
"That's good eatin'! Tastes like Magmar..." Marcia rips the fresh meat off her
skinning knife with her teeth and chews some more of her much anticipated lunch.
She's sitting in the one place she hopes Splash will not look, the Violet City
Police Station. She's sitting across from two Officer Jennys.
One of the identical officers makes a face to show her disgust and says, "You know,
we could give you a fork..."
"That's okay, Officer Jenny, a police uniform is all I'm asking for." Marcia tears
the last piece of meat from her knife, swallows it, and says, "I figure the only
way that psychopath's not going to confuse me for Murasaki is if he confuses me for
an Officer Jenny, and I have to get to the Pokemon Center fast to heal that
Rattata."
The wounded Rattata is layed out on his back and his legs spasm. His fangs are
chattering, "T-t-t-t-t..."
"By the way, thanks for the chicken. It was delicious!" Marcia licks her lips, glad
she was given something to eat. She had actually contemplated eating the Rattata,
but then remembered how disgusted the people on the reality TV show "Outliver" were
when they had to eat Rattata, so she decided against it.
A third Officer Jenny walks into the cafeteria, carrying a police uniform. She
hands it to Nurse Marcia, "Here you go! A standard issue Officer Jenny uniform!"
The officer sits down with her fellow officers to eat doughnuts with them and
watches as Marcia thanks them and heads over to the nearby bathroom to change.
Suddenly, one of the female officers spits some food from her mouth into a napkin,
"Eww, someone put a riceball in the doughnut box."
"Must've been Jenny. She's quite the practical joker." The officer sitting next to
her comments, "I mean, I doubt anyone could confuse a riceball for a doughnut."
Out of the bathroom walks Marcia, who has styled her hair to match the style worn
by all the officers sitting at the table. She is dressed like an Officer Jenny from
the cop hat on her head to the black high-heeled shoes on her feet. Marcia has some
trouble walking over to the cafeteria table, not just because she's not used to
wearing high heels, but also because the shoes she's wearing are two sizes too
small. When she picks up her Rattata, she asks, "Don't you have any size 9 shoes?"
All three Officer Jennys reply simultaneously, "We're all size sevens."
"Figures. Well, thanks for the meal and the costume. Remember to keep a look out
for Splash." Marcia stumbles out of the Police Station, hoping she doesn't bump
into Splash. While she slowly and carefully walks to the nearby Pokemon Center
where she works, she hears Splash yelling Murasaki's name all over the city, but
she manages to enter the Pokemon Center before the crazy young man can see her.
When Nurse Joy looks at Nurse Marcia quizzically, Marcia bluntly states, "Don't
ask." She ignores all the other people present in the Pokemon Center and marches
straight into the back room to treat the hurt Rattata.
"Blissey?" Omelette, Marcia's Blissey, eyes her partner with a strange look on her
face as she tries to figure out why Marcia's dressed like a police officer, but
when she notices the paralyzed Rattata Marcia's holding, her demeanor changes to
one of concern. She walks up to the Rattata, puts her short arms on the Rattata,
and uses Softboiled in order to bring the hurt Pokemon back to full health, then
follows Marcia, who places him, belly-up, on an white stretcher, "Bliss blissey
bliss?"
"I don't know. Let's see." Marcia pulls open a nearby drawer and rummages around
inside it. She grabs a small bottle filled with Paralyzecure Berry extracts mixed
with Full Heal and pours the liquid into the Rattata's mouth. She gently rubs the
Rattata's neck, hoping to guide the liquid into the Rattata's system.
"Bliss!" Omelette exclaims happily when she sees the Rattata kick his hind legs in
the air and turn his head.
"Don't celebrate just yet." Marcia puts her hand on Omelette's head and explains,
"It might just be a involuntary muscle spasm." She watches for a few more seconds,
as the Rattata struggles to stand on his legs, and a smile appears on her face when
the weak Pokemon manages to do so, "I think he'll be all right."
