She calls Barbie over to her > side and heads southward, farmward bound. When Sarah is a little ways away, Bob picks up his little fried Sentret and walks back into the Pokemon Center. While Nurse Joy is dealing with Bouncer, Bob and Raffy discuss their travel plans. "You know, I think that Sarah had the right idea about going home for Christmas. What do you think Raffy?" Bob asked. <<I think you're losing it, letting her beat you that badly.>> was Raffy's quick-witted response. "Listen Raffy, there are plenty of wild pokemon for Bouncer to regain his confidence by battling. Sarah and Barbie won more than a simple battle, they won a little more confidence in their own abilities." Bob said, trying not to bop Raffy upside the head. <<If that's your excuse, then let's go home for Chirstmas. It's got to beat buying your mother another tacky present. Besides, I can't wait to see how you're going to explain those leaves to your mother. She'll freak!>> Raffy replied. "You're just full of charm today, aren't you? Besides, I only have to explain it to my mother if she finds out." Bob said calmly. About that time, Nurse Joy was finished healing Bouncer, the hoppy little Sentret. Bouncer bounced over to where Bob was and made his presence known "Sentret!" "Hey little guy, you're looking better. Let's get going, It's homeward bound we go." Bob said with happiness in his voice and a little spring in his step. So the walk out the door and southward towards home, which is a little south of Goldenrod City. The Sentret's hopping is keeping up with Bob and the Girafarig, and it's kind of cute. However, Bob is kind of in a hurry to get back home to his mother's cooking, and the chores probably waiting for him, so he recalls his Sentret into its pokeball. Bob travels at a much faster rate than normal, due to the excitement of home. Raffy the Girafarig, goes faster to keep up with Bob and to keep him out of trouble. After two or three days of travelling through the forested shortcuts of the general area, Bob and Raffy arrive at the city limits of Goldenrod City. Physically, nothing has changed, all the business were open and making money, and people were roaming the streets in search of a deal, but something was a bit odd. There weren't as many people out as he was accustomed to. Usually, in the middle of the afternoon during the week, the sidewalk is full of people bargain hunting. Today, there is next to nobody out and about, not even trainers. The last time there were next to no people out was when Team Rocket tried to take over the Radio Tower in the heart of the city. About 100 feet up the street from the Pokemon Center, an Officer Jenny whizzed by on her standard-issue motorbike. Bob and Raffy thought it was just another minor emergency and walked on, towards the Pokemon Center.
