Previously, Hito decided that she didn't want to become a Pokemon trainer. 'It
wasn't right to force creatures to battle,' she thought. She left Pewter City
and wandered around for a few months, looking at the world around her.
-------------------
"Here you are Miss," the waitress said to the young girl sitting alone at the
booth closest to the door at Brock's Diner. Without looking away from the
window to her left, the girl reached out for the bill, grasping it in her hand
and bringing it into her view.
Focusing her eyes on the bill, the girl let out a small sigh and reached into
her bag looking for some cash. She rummaged through her bag for a few moments
before finally locating the cash and placing it on the table.
Watching from behind the counter, the waitress watched the girl place the cash
on the table and wordlessly get out of her booth and head towards the door.
After serving the man in front of her his coffee, decaffeinated, the waitress
walked over to the booth the girl had sat at
She grabbed her tip first, then as a second thought grabbed the bill as well.
It wouldn't sit well with the boss if she didn't take it.
The bill had been placed in a black leather envelope, as well as the payment
the girl had made. The tip had been left on the table, making it easy for the
waitress to recognize it as hers.
Looking up, she saw the girl who had previously been sitting at the booth walk
over to a tree across the street, extending her hand as a red blur -the
waitress couldn't make out from her position what it was- jumped onto her arm,
landing perfectly.
Soon after that, the girl walked out of her line of view, and the waitress
reluctantly returned to work.
-----------------
The girl, Hito Shakaku, walked with her friend Lokon down the street. Lokon, a
Vulpix, sat atop her closed backpack, her snout leaning against the top of
Hito's head. It was Lokon's favorite position to sit in, ever since Hito had
thrown away Lokon's Pokeball.
Hito had also decided that she didn't want to call Lokon her Pokemon anymore.
Instead, she called Lokon her friend. These changes had been made after Hito
had told Lokon to battle with that other trainer's Onix.
Hito had even told Lokon that she could leave her if she wanted to. But Lokon
didn't want to. Ever since she was born, she had been with Hito. Since she had
been born on the Shakaku Family Breeding Ranch. Lokon thought of Hito as her
family. Not a master, since Hito obviously didn't want to be called that, but
as her family.
And so they had traveled together. After leaving the town where they had
battled the rock Pokemon, Hito had struggled with the thought of going back to
her hometown.
But too many bad things had happened to her there. The death of her parents.
The loss of her home. And… Forest.
Forest's birthday had come and passed, as had her own birthday, but she had
decided not to visit Forest's grave. It had been a hard decision for her friend
to make, and Lokon understood why she had decided not to go back to Forest's
grave.
Hito wasn't ready yet. She wasn't ready to say goodbye to him.
And so they had gone in a different direction, towards Viridian City, stopping
briefly in Celadon to tell Forest's grandparents that he had passed away. It
had been hard, and she wasn't ready. As soon as she had told the elderly couple
what had happened to the young man they loved, she left quickly.
Lokon had noticed the tears coming out of her friend's eyes, and had wiped them
away with her tongue.
Now, they were in a city where the ocean's smell blew in the air. A city with a
lot of ships. Viridian City.
Why where they here? It didn't matter. Where were they going? The answer,
unknown. They had been wandering the land for a long time. Months.
Most of the time, Hito watched. Watched Pokemon trainers battle. Watched wild
Pokemon play. Lokon tried to get her trai- her _friend-_ to open up to her, but
she didn't. After a while, she would let the Vulpix in on her feelings. She
always did, when she was ready.
Where were they going to go from here? Not to Porta Vista. Lokon knew that
Splash was there, locked up in jail. He was sick, and he was getting the help
he needed there. Not to Saffron. Forest had told Hito about everything that
happened to him there. Lavender was the same. It reminded her of Forest, as
well as Splash and Shock.
Fuchsia City was where she had first met Shock. Where she had sent him to his
death. Hito wasn't heading there either.
Cinnabar. Her only cousin, Panos, had lived there. He had died as well, found
poisoned in Celadon. She had too many memories of happier times with her cousin
there.
On a split second decision, Hito bought a ticket onto a ship. The destination
didn't matter. She just had to get away. Away from everything.
Hito hurried onto the ship.
------------------
Meanwhile, in another city, a young man was staring a something in shock. In
horror. His love stood in front of him. Two figures. But the woman this man
loved didn't have a twin. So, how could both figures in front of him be the
woman he loved?
They were trying to trick him. Deceive him. They must have known that he loved
one woman, and one woman only, and so they had tried to trick him. But they had
made a mistake.
As one of the women put her hand on his shoulder, to lead him out of the room,
he made his move. With a hard push, he shoved the woman who was leading him
into the other woman. Both stumbled, but remained standing.
The man charged at the two women, knocking them into the room, the cell, where
he had previously been. The two women lost their balance and fell to the floor
in a heap. The young man swiftly closed the cell, locking the two women inside.
The two women protested, begging him to let them out, but he ignored them. They
had tried to trick him. Make him think that they were both the woman he loved.
But he was smarter than that.
His love would triumph after all.
His love for Murasaki.
Quickly, the young man left the jail where he had been imprisoned for months,
leaving the two Officer Jennies he had locked in the cell calling out for help
behind him.

(Since I have not written for a while, waiting for the new FAQ to be posted,
then working on another story, non-PW! related, my previous Hito stories can be
found on my site. I'm still trying to put all of my back stories on my site,
thanks to Deja's merger with Google, and the loss of their past posts.)
