From: Amber Foxwing (creese@qwest.net) Subject: [PW!] What? He can't FIGHT?! Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon Date: 2001-08-02 08:13:57 PST As Amber trotted out the door, she forgot her newspaper hood. She held her Houndour and her Pikachu in her arms, cradling them, and a skarmory flew over head and pooped on her. "Eeeyuck! I suppose I'm supposed to be used to this with birds at home, but...Yuck!" she grimaced. "Here," Jason said, pulling his newspaper apart. "Use the Business section." She nodded, "Thank you," and took the paper, laying it over her head so she could her hold her fainted Pokemon. They finally left the gym and Jason gave his own version of how the battle went, and then they started talking about his egg. "I wonder what it could be?" Amber asked. "I wonder if it's just some dinky Seel, or if it's something rare like Totodile, Squirtle, or Marril?" "I'd like Totodile or Squirtle more than Marril. They aren't wild Pokemon." "That is to say that egg HAS T-dile, Squirtle, or Marril." Jason nodded and they approached the Pokemon Center again. "How was your battle?" Joy asked them. Jason grinned and showed off his prizes. Amber just replied, "I'll beat him as soon as my Pokemon are healed." Joy grinned and handed her Pocco. "He's all better, but your Houndour needs longer. What happened?" "He grabbed onto Pidgeotto's foot whom flew higher until it dropped him headfirst into the ground. He will be ok, right?" "Yes, but he won't be able to battle for a while. He'll be a little dizzy, so I suggest you hold him until he gets better. See that dent?" She pointed to his head plate. It had a dent where he hit the ground. "That plate is made of stuff almost as hard as Ponyta hooves. It rattled his brain a little bit, so he'll still be able to do everything he used to except battle." "But who am I gonna use then? I only HAVE two Pokemon unless you count Nyara inside of ME! And Trainers can't interfere with Pokemon battles (OOC: Does this rule apply here?)! Oh, nooooo!" Joy looked at her and simply said, "Catch another one." "What is there around here?" she asked. Hopefully some electric types would be there. "Sprout Tower holds Ghastly and Rattata. Route 32, South of here, has Mareep, Hoppip, and Wooper. They are at higher levels, mind you." "Whoopee! I'll catch a Gastly!" she said. "THat's better than the others, even though Mareep would be good." So after they left the Pokemon Center, she headed north to the Sprout Tower, Jason following just trying to keep up. Pocco sat on her head using a napkin to wipe the Skarmory poop out of her hair, and Darkfang was cradled in her arms. He looked up at her and struggled, then dropped out of her arms. She stopped. "Joy said to hold you cause you're a bit dizzy, Fang. Come on." "I'm not dizzy!" he growled as he made his way drunkenly down the path and into the bushes. Amber grabbed him and held him firmly in her grasp. He struggled, but it was too much for him. "Ok, I'll ride with you," he scowled. He hated being babied. Amber walked into the Sprout Tower, and began her search for Ghastly.... TBC
