After the gym doors close, Bob slowly gets up and walks toward the Pokemon
Centre. He is unsure if he really should leave such a timid girl all alone,
but the quick glimpse he caught of Barbie, the paranoid Mareep, suggested
that he should probably leave the two of them alone.

At the Goldenrod Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy was tending to Bob's Girafarig
and Ninetales, while Bob and Zapper were sitting on the bench waiting.
Without Raffy's help, Bob couldn't understand what Zapper was trying to
say, but it was clear that both were puzzled.
They didn't get very far into their thoughts when the door opened and Nurse
Joy came out. Bob walked over the counter where she handed over the
pokeballs that Raffy and Buddy were in. Bob graciously picked up the
pokeballs and turned around and walked right past Sarah. He stopped and
turned around.
"How'd it go in there?" Bob asked, not noticing a badge in plain sight.
"I l-lost." was Sarah's timid reply
"Ah, don't feel bad, that Miltank of hers is tough. I got plowed by it a
couple of times before beating her this time. Besides, your pokemon seem to
care about you, so you have nothing to worry about." Bob said, trying to
console her.
Sarah walked up to the counter and her and Nurse Joy talked. Bob started to
walk out the door and was interruped by some wiggling in his backpack. He
stopped to check what it was and he realized that it was the egg that had
forgot about. Then an idea struck him. He reached into his backpack and
pulled out the egg, and then walked over to the bench where Sarah now sat.
He held out the egg and offered it to Sarah.
"Here. I'd like you to have it. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it's
just about ready to hatch." Bob said politely. Sarah just stared at the
egg stunned.
"I-I couldn't. Th-that's yours." Sarah said, trying to be polite.
"Look, I have my enough pokemon to take care of already, and I'm sure that
it'll be helpful to you on your journey. Also, my parents own a day-care
center outside of town here and trainers turn down their pokemon's eggs
fairly often, so I can always go home for another one," Bob explained.
"W-well th-thanks for the k-kindness." Sarah says very timidly as she
takes the egg out of Bob's hands.
"You'll need a ball to put the baby in once it hatches." Bob says while he
burrows through the many different kinds of balls in his backpack. He
grabs two Friend Balls and hands them to Sarah. "These balls help make a
pokemon more attached to it's trainer."
"Th-that's to much. I c-couldnt t-take these t-too." Sarah says, looking
at the apricorn pokeballs.
"You just did." Bob says, slipping them into her satchel.
Before Sarah had a chance to thank Bob, Nurse Joy came out of the back room
and called Sarah's name. She politely handed her the Fast Ball containing
Blazer and the Lure Ball containing Luthor. When she turned around, Bob
was already halfway out the door.
When Sarah was out of sight, Bob released Raffy out of his pokeball. He
then started walking up Goldenrod's Main Street, leaving Sarah and Barbie
behind at the Pokemon Center, with her new egg.
