In the morning, Amber awoke feeling much better than she had yesterday. She stretched and yawned, looking around. To her surprise, there was a large pile of straw in the corner of her cage covered by a blanket. "He came in earlier and put that there," the Abra-girl said. "Yeah, so you better thank him!" snapped the growlithe boy. Amber sighed and sat down on the straw. She missed her life before this week. Oh well, she thought, I can't go back now. "So what do you guys do here during the day?" she asked tentatively. "He'll probably use you as a model for his experiments." "...Experiments?" "Yes. He makes and sells half-breeds." "Oh...He SELLS them?!" "Yes." Amber was appalled. She didn't want to be sold.... "Are you awake now?" suddenly came a voice by the door. The man walked in and peered into her cage. She growled and hissed furiously. "No need to be upset, m'dear. I just want to examine you to see how a natural half-breed works." Amber's snarls grew louder. "I'm NOT a natural half-breed!!" "Oh? Then who made you?" "NO ONE MADE ME! I'm what happens when you mix magic with an unknown source!" "Magic, eh? Ho ho ho ho ho...Good one. Now come along and be a good girl..." Amber crouched into defensive position and bit his hand when he entered. He shook his hand free and patted her on the head. "Testy this morning, aren't we? Now I don't want to, but do I have to have Tatsu come and calm you down?" Amber's wailing snarl lowered to a low growl then stopped. The man patted her on the head again and motioned for her to follow. She did, albeit slowly, and they entered a room at the end of the hall. It was a well-lit room complete with an operating table and very clean professional tools on a nearby table. On the operating table lay a girl hardly younger than her and a pidgeot. Both were out cold. "Don't worry; they're alive, but they won't wake up for hours yet. They won't feel pain at all," he reassured her. "Now if you would please disrobe and put this gown on, that would be a great help." Amber did as she was told, noting that the man politely turned around. When she had finished putting on what looked like a hospital gown, she coughed expecantly. He completed his turn and nodded. "Don't be alarmed, Amber. I'm just going to examine the bases of your pokemon traits to see how they fit on." Amber stood motionless as he checked her tail, ears, and claws. Then he got to work on the girl and the pidgeot. She turned her head away so she didn't have to look and endured the full 3 hours of operation, complete with examination time and time again. Finally she put her clothes back on and lied on the straw heap. After a short nap, she woke up and saw the pidgeot girl in the cage ahead of her. She was still sleeping peacefully. ----------- Back at Bob's house, a few of the group was starting to get a little worried. Amber hadn't shown up for two days now. Jason was sure she was just being stubborn and that she would come back eventually. "After all," he said somewhat spitefully, "where else can she go?" Bob and Vixxen still weren't pacified. Vixxen was constantly out in the woods to see if she could find a trace. That's where she was when Bob began maing lunch. Vixxen suddenly burst in shouting, "A CLUE! A CLUE!" Bob sighed. "Stop watching TV, Vixxen. It's damaged your brain." Velocity wearily wandered in and whined. She barked loudly to get attention. Everyone turned to look at her. "Vul Vulpix Vul Vul Pix Vulpix Vul Vul Vul Pix Vulpix Vulpix Vul!" "Eh?" Jason said. "She said that she and Amber were ambushed in the woods and some guy took her," VIxxen prompted. "Vulpix Vul Vul Pix Pix Vulpix Vul Vul!" "She followed her trail and figured out where she is." "Vulpix Vul Vul Vul Vul Vul Pix VULPIX Vulpixpix Vulpix!" "She's in a place where they SELL half-breeds!" "Vulpix Vul. Vulpix Vul Vul Pix Vulpixpix Vulvul." "She said none of the half-breeds can come to rescue her for fear that we get captured as well..." TBC Test...after test...after test....after test...after test...Woo! Short week next week! ...with a test... >_< Sorry I haven't posted in so long (again) but last week I had a test every day and next week I have a test, and two weeks after thanksgiving is final exams. O.O So all in all, instead of writing PW, I've been memorizing genetic mutations, punnet squares, Alexander the Great and why he's great, the equations of a line, the he/she/it/me/you pronouns in Latin, All the mythological figures, who they are, what they do, and why they're important---*faints*
