But was she fighter good, or just > dancer good? One person slowly applauded after the others stopped. "Not bad," Aerie called from her observation point on the roof. "Remember anything yet?" "Yeah." Kitsu smiled. "You promising to come here and get what's coming to you." "Sheesh! What a grouch!" Aerie sighed dramatically. "I *try* to do someone a favor..." No one was buying it, especially those from inside the house. She shrugged. "Well, I promised you a fight, so let's get it on. KYAAAAAH!" She drew a sword from nowhere, leapt dramatically towards Kitsu, and missed by a good two meters, landing face first. Kitsu cocked her head. "You know, if you're scared we can stop." Aerie pulled herself out of the ground, righted herself, and spat out some dirt. "*ppft* Ha! Me? Doppler's daughter, scared? NEVER!" She swung her sword in a broad strike... ...which was parried, then knocked away, by Kitsu, who followed up with a slice that might have taken Aerie's head off had she not ducked in time. Shaking her head at the brash girl's obvious lack of talent, she telehgraphed her own swing... ...only to blink in surprise when Aerie parried and knocked it away in the exact same way Kitsu had just done. Being taller than Aerie, ducking was not as viable, so Kitsu dodged backwards to avoid the follow-up strike. Kitsu smiled. "Ditto girl. Right." Aerie shrugged. "I *said* I'd probably learn a thing or two, regardless." "If all you know of sword fighting is what you learn from me, then you've handed me the advantage." "Not *all*." Aerie vanished. Without even thinking, Kitsu reversed her grip on her blade and stabbed behind her, meeting resistance. Her eyes slowly widened in realization, and she turned around to find Aerie looking at her in surprise, Kistu's sword sticking through her abdomen. "I guess you really do know a thing or two." Her voice seemed a bit weaker. "Oh my god! Aerie, I'm so sorry..." "What?" Aerie pulled the sword out, offering it back to Kitsu. Her flesh closed behind the blade. Kitsu's eyes bugged out for a moment, then she blinked. "Ditto girl. Right." Aerie shrugged. "Turnabout's fair play. I stick something in you, you stick something in me." "Huh? But you never..." She frowned as her opponent's meaning sunk in. "YOU!!!" Aerie giggled as she backflipped to avoid Kitsu's furious swipes. TBC?
