Aerie knelt where the mystery trainer had vanished, and held up a flyer. "It's an advertisement for the Whirl Cup tournament, over on Red Rock Isle." Keaton took the flyer and quickly scanned it. "Water pokemon only? Well-" "It's a trap," Aerie interrupted. Keaton gave her an annoyed look. "Of course it is. It's also our only lead." He glanced at Kitsu, confirming she was still out cold, then knelt so he could see eye to eye with a standing Aerie. "Tell me the truth. You *do* want to help her, don't you? You're not just hanging around to be a pain." "..." Aerie blinked. "Since when did you become insightful?" "Since it mattered." Keaton put a hand on her shoulder. "She's my sister. I care about her. Which means I need to know who's really trying to help her...and who's still confused." Aerie walked to Kitsu, glanced back at Keaton, then picked Kitsu up. "We should get her back to the house." Her eyes scanned Kitsu as she slowly headed back. "Maybe I should've been a boy after all," she sighed. "Aerie..." "Umm...don't tell anyone." She leaned in close, her lips approaching Kitsu's. "Aerie, DON'T." "Hmm?" Her head pulled away and she looked back at Keaton, just in time for Kitsu to stir in her arms. Kitsu yawned, blinked, took in her situation, and rolled out of Aerie's grip onto her feet. "How long was I out?" Ignoring but noting Aerie's choked look of surprise, Keaton walked up to Kitsu. "Just a few minutes. That golduck tried to scan your brain, but no dice. Its trainer dropped this." He handed over the flier. Kitsu, not having seen Aerie's expression before it faded into relief, quickly read the flier. "Whirl Cup tournament, Red Rock Isle." She looked up. "You know this has got to be a trap." "Du-uh," Keaton and Aerie echoed. Further conversation was interrupted by the aroma of freshly baked pancakes. TBC?
