"You're about as defenseless as Keaton!" > Vixxen muttered something about 'deaf, dumb, and blind'. Amber whirled > around and said, "My hearing is just fine thank you!" > Everyone broke down with the giggles and soon they were all laying on the > ground watching the sky. > "So...do you think Dharak will change you back?" Jason asked Amber quietly. > "I don't know. Perhaps. But I'll be fine, biding my time until he does. He sat dumbfounded, staring at the place he had been > standing. He touched the place Dharak had been leaning on the couch. It was > warm, but only just. > Then something hit him. > Why had Amber's rival asked him to protect her? That thought had to wait for a while as the clock said 4:00. Not only had he slept most of the afternoon away and had a rather interesting conversation with a dark stranger, but there was supper to think about -- for all the residents. "Now what sounds good for supper?" Bob mused aloud Hocus Teleported in. "Kadabra abra!" "You know that's a good idea. Stew it is." Bob said. Looking in the fridge, he found all the necessary ingredients for the stew. Within about 15 minutes, the large pot of stew was simmering and cooking nicely, offering Bob a few minutes of free time. Jeff and Raffy then came in through the back door. "Hey bro! you're up!" "Yeah, and there's stew on the stove." "Cool, so we actually have a few minutes of free time?" "Looks that way little bro. How 'bout a video game?" "I'll get the Funstation." A hour or so later, Everyone arrived back at the Day Care Center. They arrived just in time for one of the battles on the video game to finish. "Hyper ... ROLL!" Bob said from the back room, where the game was hooked up. That was also in tune with the move being done in the game. Jeff had just lost his 37th game (out of 45). "NUTS!" Jeff cried, as his fighter was getting fried by lightning and nipple rockets. When it was all over, "You cheated." "I did not. The only thing I did was use my favourite characters." "A slut and a schoolgirl?" "Well, yeah. They make a good pair." (FYI: Couldn't think of any humourous name replacements. But I couldn't make up the nipple rockets. They really are in the game. ^_^) Thankfully the argument was cut short by a small crowd of people with various powers in the front area. That got the breeder brothers up and out there. "Oh welcome back. Hard day's training?" Bob asked. There were various affirmative responses. Vixxen was squealing in delight still. "I saw Laddy and Speedy the Sandslash and Bugsy Azumarill. He was lost. Something about taking a wrong turn at Celadon. And also ... " Vixxen rambled on "It's been a weird day." Solo confirmed. "Mine had it's weird points too." Bob said. "Which reminds me, I have to check the stew. Can I talk to you for a minute Amber?" That confused the Sneasel girl. "Um, yeah. Sure thing." ---------- Out in the kitchen, Bob was stirring the stew, relating the tales of the afternoon to Amber. "One of your 'old friends' dropped in. He seemed a little annoyed with me." Bob said. "Really, what was his name?" "Um, Dhar ... Dhar ..." "Dharak." Amber growled. "What did _HE_ want?" "Nothing really. He told me to tell you that he was here, and protect you. Also said something about being powerful in my own right. Also, he was sort of annoyed with me. Somehting to do with not knowing what's going on with me." Bob said, summarizing the events of earlier. "Whoa, I though he knew it all." Amber said. Snapping back to this reality, she looked over his shoulder. "How's the food?" "Fine. Should be ready shortly." "Anything I can do to help?" She asked sweetly. "Uh, keep Vixxen away from the TV?" "Darn." Amber said, going to do what she was asked. ---------- Back in the front area, everyone was a bit confused. Several ears though perked up after Dharak's name was mentioned. After that hubbub was over though, they were talking again. "Anybody here any good at video games?" Jeff asked. "I've played a few. I'm probably a bit rusty though." Solo said. "Wanna play? Got the Funstation hooked up in the back room." "Sure." Solo replied. "I'm after you." Jason said, going with Solo and Jeff to play video games. Vixxen squealed at delight at the thought of TV. That is, until Amber came back and grabbed her arm. "Breeder's orders Vixxen, You're to stay way from the TV." "Can't I watch?" Vixxen asked, puppy eyes activated. "All right, but no frying the TV" The pair went to the back room, with Karl following for kicks. Kitsu wandered into the kitchen, drawn to the aroma of stew, and Keaton followed. "What's cooking?" Kitsu asked, eying the stew practically drooling. "Stew. And if you two set the table, I can dish it out faster." Bob said. "Or you could set the table and _we_ could dish out the stew." Kitsu said. "Yeah, but then what would the rest of us eat?" Bob asked That angered Keaton a bit, but was quickly clamed down by Kitsu. There was a bit of laughter while the two samurai set the table. After that, the food was dished out. "Jeff! Guys! Supper!" Silence was the reply. All of a sudden, "Ah man, what IS that move?" Jeff cried. "Is that even legal?" Karl asked. "Oh my Goddish!" Jason said. "Laddy! Save him!" "Eternal Slumber. Gotta love it." Solo said, with a HUGE smile as Jeff's final fighter went down to the rather unique move. (I like that move too. Raped to death -- bad way to die) "Um FOOD!" Bob cried out. Faster than a Kadabra could teleport, everyone was at the kitchen table, eating. Just as Bob was about to sit down, there was a ringing at the doorbell. With much grumbling, he went to answer the door. When the young breeder opened the door, what he saw was a purple haired girl. "Um hello, can I help you?" Bob asked the girl. TBC ------- Clayton (Bonus points if you can ID the game mentioned. Also as a side note, the two characters I mentioned are my favourite for the game.) > At least you've made it that far. I'll only be 14 in December! I can't even > volunteer or get a summer job of any sorts down here! >_< (Growing up ain't all it's cracked up to be)
