"...and that all Mimic know about shiny unown," Mimic concludes much later, still cuddling Xerox but now in Marvin's room. "So...Fire Wand isn't a bug?" Marvin asks for the Nth time. "Yes," Xerox and Mimic echo, with Xerox adding, "master." "Are you sure?" "Mimic know what Mimic know. And Mimic know that psychic type, not bug type." As Fire Wand nuzzles Marvin again, Mimic adds, "Though it no seem mind misidentification. Fire Wand, Enn, possibly most harmless of shiny unown." "Unlike these," Xerox adds, gesturing to the line of pokeballs carrying the carefully extracted former residents of Mimic's body. "Mimic still not too certain safer like that than inside Mimic." Xerox frowns. "We've been over this. You nearly lost control. Carry the pokeballs inside you if you want; if one gets out, you can put it back in before they all get out. And before you say it, I insist that we split the unown. My master would not willingly part with Fire Wand. Jay is far too dangerous for you to carry, so long as you also carry You. Ehl will also be of assistance to my master. Kay and Sea are of far more use to you than to my master, and you can fight You much more effectively than my master could." "He can fight himself?" Marvin blinks. "This I'd like to see." Ignoring his comment, Xerox continues, "But what of your niece, Aerie? She is competing in this tournament." "Mimic know. Very odd behavior; almost last thing Mimic expect Aerie to do. Unless she find herself here and need justify to herself why here." Marvin eagerly latches on to a conversation topic he knows something about. "You mean the girl who was shot? They still haven't found her body." "Aerie fine. She no more hurt than if Marvin shot Mimic or Xerox - no magic, for real." "I would never do such a thing! What are you implying?" "Mimic know, Mimic know! That why Mimic say *if*." Mimic sighs. "Mimic surprised. Think magician have better imagination, better ability see what no actually happen." "What are you talking about? I have a great imagination! Crowds come from all over to see my show! Well, okay, maybe not *all* over, but there was this one gal from Ecruteak who was passing through..." By this time, per unspoken agreement, Mimic has already shrunk into a pokeball and sucked Xerox inside for the night. --- The next morning, before Marvin awakes, Mimic lets Xerox out then transforms himself. The first thing they see is a girl in very skimpy clothes staring at them. "Like, wows, sis..." "I thought you had returned to Goldenrod City." "Like, I did, but I missed you and Marvy so much that I came back. Jus' fer a few seconds, though." "Ah. You wanted to check on us, to make sure we were okay." "Umm...yeah, but don't tell Marvy, okay?" "Of course, sister. Now might I inquire as to your earlier comment?" "Huh?" "I believe it was, 'Like, wows, sis'?" Famifax blinks. "Oh, that! Well, when I got here, I, like, saw all these pokeballs lined up, and thought Marvy had done a lot of catching. So I let 'em out to see what he got." Xerox's and Mimic's eyes go wide. "Do you know what you have done?!?" "Oh, fer sure, like, totally." She blushes. "Well, I only got halfway through, actually. I knew which one was Fire Wand's, and he was all playful an' stuff. The next one I let out jus' wanted to tickle me. I was havin' so much fun, I coulds barely open the third. An' it, like, blew my mind open. Let me see into the minds of the other two, and into your minds so I could see what you two were up to. So like I said, like, wows, sis." "You engaged in an act of utter voyuerism?" "Is that what it's called?" Famifax shrugs. "Whatever. I still think it's all icky and stuff that you'd do it with lil' brother, but I think I understand a bit better why you wanna do it that way instead of like me. I still like it my way, though." Xerox shakes her head equivalent, though all Mimic and Famifax see is her eyes going from side to side. "We can talk about that later. Do you know how close you just came to endangering the entire world?" "What, just by looking in on you and lil' bro? Come on, sis, he might've rocked your world, but he didn't literally rock *the* world. I thought you were smarter 'n' that." "That's not what I meant." "Whatever. Oh, I almost forgot! I still gots to see what those other three balls contain." "NO!" Mimic and Xerox echo, loud enough that Marvin snorts, yawns, and blinks his eyes. "Uh-oh. Umm, remember, don't tells Marvy I was here, okays?" Not even waiting for a reply, Famifax shifts into an abra and teleports away. Upon seeing the two remaining dittos looking with concern at what is now empty space, the magician asks, "Is something wrong?" "Umm...three unown got out. Fortunately, your three unown. Mimic unown not yet out, but Mimic and Xerox probably should put unown back in balls before any others get loose," Mimic offers, before he and Xerox proceed to do just that. TBC?
