(( NS: Since Bandraptor isn't around, I flipped a coin to determine who
won the final match of Round Three, Cappie vs. Rudy. This post is what
happened on day four after the final match was over, so timeline-wise it
goes right before Worry's latest post [which takes place on the morning
of day five]. The two Semi-Final matches should be posted by Saturday
with an [SF] tag after the [WC] tag. ))
Robert sits in the Gym Leader Section of the Scarlet City Coliseum. He's
sitting next to Travis, his new pal, who's sitting next to Becky, the
opponent who defeated Robert earlier today, in the first match of Round
Three of the Whirl Cup Competition. Although all three Trainers had left
the Coliseum shortly after Robert's match against Becky to go to the
local Pokemon Center, they returned to the Coliseum shortly after the
second match of the day, the one between Yolei and Aerie, had finished.
Robert convinced the Whirl Cup Guard posted outside the Gym Leader
section to let Travis and Becky sit with him.
Everyone in the audience of the Coliseum has just finished watching a
young man defeat a Hitmontop in the final match of day four. People are
starting to leave the Coliseum, including some of the Gym Leaders
sitting near Robert. Jasmine's the first to leave, having sat alone the
entire day, then Chuck and his group of students head out. Sissy and the
four Cerulean Sisters comment about the match for a moment, then four of
the woman stand up and head to the exit. Misty remains seated.
While Robert, Travis, and Becky talk about the recent battle between
Cappie the Hitmontop and Rudy, the Trovita Gym Leader, the three
Sensational Sisters notice their younger sister isn't following them and
walk back to where Misty is sitting.
"Like, let's go, Misty." Daisy, the oldest of the Leaders of the
Cerulean City Gym, tosses her orange hair then grabs one of Misty's arms
to pull the red-haired young woman out of her seat.
"You four go ahead without me..." Misty says, not looking at any of her
sisters nor Sissy, "I'll catch up in a little bit."
Violet, the second oldest of the Sensational Sisters, rubs her chin for
a moment then comments, "Y'know, I think Misty's waiting for someone.
But who?"
"What?" Misty sweatdrops, "I didn't say anything about waiting for
someone!"
"I know! I know who, Violet!" Lily, the youngest Water Flower of
Cerulean City exclaims, "Misty's waiting for that guy she's been talking
with sooo much for the past few days. Y'know - the guy who just won
today's last match. What's his name again?"
"His name's Rudy." Sissy answers the pink-haired girl's question. The
Mikan Gym Leader from the Orange Islands has also noticed that her
fellow member of the Orange Crew has been talking with Misty often
lately.
"Like, thanks!" Lily tells Sissy before turning to face her sister,
who's face is turning almost as red as her hair, "Aww, Misty, there's
totally no need to be embarrassed that you've got a new boyfriend! It's
about time you got over that Ash what's-his-name, if you ask me!"
"WHAT?!" Misty screams, "RUDY IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND! We're just good
friends!"
Misty's yelling halts the conversation Robert is having with Travis and
Becky. All three Trainers sweatdrop in silence, then Becky breaks the
silence by saying, "It sucks when people automatically think a guy's
your boyfriend when they see you hang out with him all the time."
Robert nods, "I was lucky - no girls ever wanted to hang out with me
until I met my girlfriend, Rilli. As a matter of fact, they still don't!
Except maybe this one girl who gave me a Swinub last Christmas, but I
doubt it..."
"C'mon, girls." Daisy says, stifling giggles, "Let's give Misty some
private time with her 'good friend'." She starts heading towards the
Coliseum exit, followed by Violet, Lily, and Sissy. The Water Flowers
all giggle when they pass Rudy, who's on his way towards Misty. Rudy
ignores the giggling of Misty's older, yet more immature, sisters, and
heads over to where Misty is sitting to talk with her. Upon seeing him,
Misty smiles and says, "You were great out there, Rudy! Even *I*
couldn't get past Round Three."
"I just got lucky." Rudy shrugs at the compliment, "I mean, you told me
you had to face a Chinchou and a GYARADOS in Round Three. I've battled
two Magikarp Trainers in a row to get where I am. C'mon, let's go to the
Pokemon Center to see who I'm going to be battling tomorrow." Misty nods
and follows Rudy out towards the exit.
Robert, seeing that he and his two buddies are the only ones left in the
Gym Leader section once Misty and Rudy have left, stands up and says,
"C'mon, you two, let's go to the Pokemon Center's Cafeteria! I'm getting
hungry..."
Travis stands up next, "But you just ate two hot dogs, a bag of nachos,
and a chocolate bar. You're still hungry?"
"Yeah. I've got quite an appetite!" Robert admits, then the trio starts
heading out of the Coliseum. About ten minutes later, they're on a path
towards the Scarlet City Pokemon Center, walking right behind Rudy and
Misty. Robert overhears Rudy ask his female friend, "Misty, could I
possibly borrow one of your amazing Water Pokemon for the Semi-Finals? I
can trade you my Exeggutor for one - I'm sure any of them will do
excellently well!" Robert then glances over to see Misty blush and
reply, "You really think they're amazing? Okay, I'll lend you one... My
Politoed didn't get to compete this year, even though he wanted to, so
I'll lend you him for the Semi-Finals and hopefully also for the Final
Round!"
Robert then turns his attention to Becky, who's walking in-between him
and Travis, "Say, Becky, which three Water Pokemon are you going to send
out in your Semi-Final match?"
"I'm definitely sending out Waverider and the Poliwrath I rented..."
Becky then pulls a Pokeball off her black belt and looks at it, saying,
"I'm not so sure I should send out Marill, an unevolved Pokemon, in the
Semi-Finals."
"I know!" Robert stops in his tracks and the two people with him also
stop. He offers, "I've got a Dragon Scale in my room. I could attach the
Dragon Scale to my Seadra and trade her to you. She'd evolve into
Kingdra... well, in her case, wouldn't she evolve into a Queendra? Well,
regardless of what she would evolve into, you could send her out for
your match!"
"I don't know..." Becky furrows her brow, "I mean, thanks for the offer,
Robert, but I don't think she would obey me."
"Let's see." In one swift motion, Robert plucks a Pokeball off the
second slot on his belt and pushes the button on it. After a flash of
red light, a Seadra materializes on the path in front of Robert. She
looks around to see where she is and upon seeing Becky, she shoots a
Water Gun attack at the face of the girl who commanded her Poliwrath to
use Fissure on her! "SEADRA! I didn't tell you to do that!" Robert
immediately recalls his Pokemon and turns to the now fuming thirteen
year old.
"I guess Becky was right." Travis remarks, smirking.
Before Becky can overcome her initial rage to say anything, Robert holds
up the palms of his hands and says, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I really
didn't think she'd do that!" He then sweatdrops and runs into the
Scarlet City Pokemon Center. Once inside, he sees Rudy and Misty at the
Center's only trading machine. He then turns his attention to the giant
monitor behind the front desk, which displays who has been paired up
against who in the Semi-Finals:
[ Becky ] vs. [ Mamoru ]
[ Rudy ] vs. [ Aerie ]
Travis and Becky enter the Pokemon Center next, Becky now a bit calmer
even though her hair's still wet since Robert apologized. Becky's the
first to see who she's paired up with in the Semi-Finals, "Mamoru, huh?
It's that guy who turns into a girl... He's got a Lapras, just like me.
What's your opinion about him, Travis?"
"OW!" Travis grabs his arm, which has just been slapped rather hard.
"Your opinion is 'OW'?" Robert asks, stepping up to where Travis and
Becky are standing after having overheard that Becky was talking about
her upcoming match as opposed to talking about kicking his butt. He then
glances over towards Travis for a response to see a blonde girl in a
Karate uniform similar to the one Becky is wearing crossing her arms at
Travis. Robert's sure he's seen the girl before somewhere before the
Whirl Cup Competition, but he can't remember where or when.
"No, someone hit me." Travis answers, then looks to the side to come
face-to-face with Belle, "Hi there, Sarah... did you just hit me?"
"My name's Belle!" The blonde girl shouts in reply, "And yes, I hit you!
I know you saw me sitting at the Gym Leader Section with Chuck! Why
didn't you walk over and say hello?!"
Figuring that if this girl is Chuck's student, the Cianwood Gym Leader
should be nearby, Robert glances around the Pokemon Center. Soon enough,
he sees the shirtless muscular Gym Leader heading into the Cafeteria.
Robert races over to the middle-aged man and says, "Hello, Chuck, my
name's Robert - you probably don't know me, but I'm the Diversity Gym
Leader. I normally like facing Gym Leaders in their Gyms, but I'd really
like to battle you before Christmas for whatever Johto League Badge it
is that you give out! Is there any chance you'd be willing to hold an
official Gym battle against me tomorrow?"
"Sure, sport." Chuck answers, slamming his hand into Robert's side in a
friendly way, "Meet me at the beach just south of the city tomorrow
morning at 8 AM and I'll battle you. It'll be a two-on-two match, so be
sure to bring at least two Pokemon."
"Eight AM?!" Robert is appalled, "That's SO early! Couldn't you battle
me sometime in the afternoon, after the Semi-Finals?"
Chuck's eyebrows slant downwards, "Unless you wanna go all the way to
Cianwood City to face me in my Gym after the Whirl Cup, you're gonna
have to battle me in the morning. In the afternoon, I'm gonna come
straight back to the Pokemon Center to eat lunch or dinner, depending on
how long tomorrow's matches are. Are you gonna take my offer or leave
it?"
"I'll take it! I'll see you tomorrow!" Robert exclaims as Chuck heads
into the Cafeteria. Robert sits down at a nearby couch and dials his
girlfriend's number on his purple Pokegear. When Mithril-rama's face
appears on the screen, Robert says, "Hi, Rilli! I've got good news and
bad news. What would you like to hear first?"
"Um..." Rilli thinks about it before a moment before replying, "The bad
first."
Robert says, "I lost my match against Becky..."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Rilli frowns and tries to comfort her
boyfriend, "I know how much you would've liked to win..."
"Oh, don't worry about it, I'm okay." Robert assures his girlfriend
before changing the subject to a more pleasant one, "Now, for the good
news! Tomorrow, I get to battle a Johto Gym Leader for a Badge. And even
better, Horsea evolved into a Seadra during today's match!"
"Horsea evolved!" Mithril-rama's smile is so wide it even looks large on
the tiny screen of Robert's Pokegear, "Finally! I can't wait to see what
she looks like now when you come visit for Christmas in a few days. I
miss you and her so much."
Robert kisses his Pokegear's screen, "I miss you too!" Suddenly, the
Pokegear starts beeping. "Whoops, I forgot my Pokegear's battery is
running low. I'm going to go take it to my room to charge it then go
have dinner. I'll call you back later to tell you more about my Round
Three match..." Just then, before Rilli can say good-bye, the Pokegear's
screen switches over to Clock mode, which still displays 3:42 AM, the
wrong time. Robert then heads to his room at the Center to charge his
Pokegear.
