Marcia shoots back at Mr. Pokemon > before turning her attention back to Doppler, "Pretty please?" Doppler frowns. "Containment like that is like jail, or worse. But these unown have taken our daughter - and I fear they may be hurting her. I wouldn't object even to pokeballs in this case. In fact, I had actually been thinking of carrying some." "Why didn't you tell me?" "Because I was afraid to admit it to myself. It's not like this is the first time I've ever used them, either." Doppler's shoulders slump for a moment. "But I've only used it on pokemon that have earned confinment, and this is no different." Marcia puts a hand on Doppler's shoulder, smiling, before Mr. Pokemon clears his throat. "Perhaps we could help each other. My transfer machine is much too bulky for two people to carry around, but it is linked to the standard communications protocols. In fact, I programmed my own pokegear card to automatically transport any shiny unown I caught straight to my transfer machine. If you wish to find my shiny unown for me, I could give you a copy...but I don't see a pokegear on either of you." "We don't have a pokegear," Marcia replies. "You don't need one to work at a pokemon center." She grimaces as she thinks how easy it would have been to get one when she worked for Team Rocket, versus how hard it would probably be for them to get one now even if she was still in their good graces. The nurse leaves out mention of honest acquistion, knowing that all present know that only pokemon trainers are legitimately issued pokegears - and that, beauraucracy being what it is, for Marcia to register as one now would raise many questions about where she got her pokemon, questions that might wind up with application denied and her pokemon taken away. Doppler looks up. "Does the card work on old-model pokedexes, with expansion slots?" Mr. Pokemon strokes his chin for a moment. "Hmm...I don't see why not. Sure, it could work with them." Marcia thinks for a second. "You know where we can get one, don't you?" "My, ah, 'old friends' programmed one as a gag gift, a long time ago. I hid it away, thinking I'd never use it for real. I'm pretty sure it's still in my former quarters." Marcia blinks, having heard some of Doppler's stories about the Pokemon Resistance, the civil war that marked its end, and about how those who now occupy the Resistance's headquarters have tried to eliminate Doppler to remove evidence of their corruption of his dream. "You're not seriously thinking of going back into Mt. Moon?!? They'll kill you! Again!" "Alone, perhaps. But with your help, I believe we can get in and out without them noticing." Mr. Pokemon takes a step back, now convinced he really is dealing with the Doppler of legend. "Ah, that's, ah, really great for you two. Umm, listen, I gotta run, but if you get that pokedex, stop by my house and I'll give you the chip. Gottagobyeniceseeingyou!" A cloud of dust marks his rapid departure; a few moments later, his porygon2 picks up his blown off hat and follows him away. TBC?
