With a swoop of his cape, Lance walked away. Amber turned back to Jason. "Booga booga?" she asked. "You are strange, Jason." Jason shrugged. "But until then, we've got a race to get to, eh?" Vixxen said. "Let's go, before it's too late. It starts in...ten minutes." "Then let's go!" shouted Amber. The group started to run to the park. When they got there, Amber ran up to the entry desk. "Is it too late to enter?" she asked breathlessly. "No," the woman replied nasally. "But only one per travelling group may enter." The five (ooc: Was his name Keven or something? I swear I can't remember anything for more than five minutes...) looked at each other. "None of my Pokemon are really racing Pokemon," Jason said. Vixxen and Solo shrugged, as did Kevin (?). They all looked at Amber. "I have a plan for this. Don't worry." She turned back around. "I'm going to enter in the race." "I figured that, dear. Now what's the name of your Pokemon?" "No, you don't get it. I'M entering the race." Her friends gaped at her. "What are you doing?!" shouted Jason and Vixxen. "Quiet. I know what I'm doing." "Ma'am, a Pokemon must race." "What do THESE look like?" she asked, pointing to her Sneasle's characteristics. "My Sneasle and I are transfused. We can do this." "Child, these racing pokemon are tough. BUt I suppose it's ok. Be warned, you will probably lose. Now go. Here's your number." The lady handed her a card with an 8 on it. "Good luck; You'll need it." Amber walked away from the desk, while her friends hurried up to her. "What do you thing you're doing?" shouted Vixxen. She grabbed her collar. "I'm entering the race, Vix. Let me do this. I know I can. Nyura's at level 8." "Amber, if you hurt yourself---" started Jason. Solo put a paw on her shoulder. "I think you can do it. Good luck." He turned to the group. "If she thinks she can do it, let her try. Come on. Let's leave her." "Good luck," sighed Jason. "Break a leg!" yelled Vixxen. Jason punched her shoulder. "I do not want to hear that." Amber strutted into the racing stalls and took a gulp of water. "Who are my challengers?" she asked herself. She tried to see over the stall walls, but she couldn't. So she gave up and crouched down, ready for the race to begin. A loud speaker said, "THE RACE WILL BEGIN IN ONE MINUTE." She crouched down, dug her claws into the ground for leverage and waited. Distantly she heard a man announcing the race. Then lights flashed in her stall and she waited. "3! 2! 1! RACE!" The doors opened. She sprung forward. TBC Sorry for the choppy writing all! I'm rather out of practice. Umm, I've gotten a lot better at my drawing, so as soon as my computer's back up I'll just scan them in. ^_^ ~Amber
